Eliana sprinted down the corridor like a crazed barefoot maniac.
It wasn't the first time she'd fled from Leo, but it was definitely the first time she'd done it out of sheer embarrassment.
She groaned internally, her heart pounding in her chest. I can't believe I kissed him! Her face burned with the memory. Sure, it wasn't their first kiss, but still—what on earth possessed her?!
"Don't be so hard on yourself, Victoria. That was a pretty good way to distract him," Liliana's voice echoed in her mind, smooth and smug.
Eliana nearly stumbled, her eyes narrowing in frustration. Oh, for heaven's sake. Is she awake again?
"How is it that you keep breaking through the effects of the potion I'm giving you to stay asleep?" Eliana muttered irritably under her breath, glancing around to make sure no one could hear her.
"C'mon, Victoria. You know you can't keep me hidden forever. Just let me out," Liliana urged, her tone sweet but persistent.
