Kieran's relaxing mood was already ruined, so he decided to pay Rose a little visit. The fact that he couldn't get into her head, couldn't control her like he could with others, still gnawed at him.
He needed to see if it was just a temporary block or if something else was at play.
In minutes, he was at her house, ringing the doorbell. An older man opened the door and gave him a once-over, blinking a few times as he assessed him.
"Can I help you, sir?" the man asked politely.
"Is Rose home?" Kieran replied.
The man nodded. "Yes, she is, but she's not feeling too well. Would you like to come back another time?"
Not feeling well? Kieran felt a twinge of guilt. He wondered if it had anything to do with the other night at the club. Maybe he should have stayed with her longer, made sure she was truly okay. She'd seemed fine at the time, but now he wasn't so sure.
