Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 11: HEAVEN'S COUNCIL

Uriel stood before the gathering of archangels, his voice echoing through the celestial halls. "Brothers and sisters, I summon you in a time of great need. Our own Haniel has fallen, along with another of our brethren."

The room fell silent, shock etched on the faces of the assembled archangels. Michael, the leader of the archangels, stepped forward. "Tell us, Uriel, what happened."

Uriel's expression was grim. "Haniel and the other Angel were ambushed by Contractors while investigating a lead on the Eye of Belial. They fought valiantly, but were outnumbered and outmatched."

Raphael, the archangel of healing, shook his head. "This is a dark day. We cannot let their sacrifice be in vain."

Gabriel, the messenger archangel, spoke up. "We must inform the other choirs of angels. We need to be vigilant and prepared for further attacks."

Michael nodded. "Agreed. Uriel, what do you propose as our next move?"

Uriel's eyes burned with determination. "We need to strike back at the Contractors, make them pay for their treachery. We also need to find the Eye of Belial before it falls into the wrong hands."

Jophiel, the archangel of beauty, spoke up. "But we must be cautious. We don't know what we're up against. The Contractors seem to have powers beyond our understanding."

Uriel nodded. "I agree. We need to gather more information, understand their strengths and weaknesses. But we cannot delay. Every moment we hesitate gives the enemy an advantage."

The archangels discussed their strategy, weighing options and considering the risks. As they spoke, a plan began to take shape.

Michael raised his hand, calling the meeting to order. "We have a course of action. Uriel, you will lead a team to gather intelligence on the Contractors. Gabriel, you will inform the other choirs and prepare them for battle. Raphael, you will tend to the wounds of our fallen brethren and prepare for the healing of those to come."

The archangels nodded, their faces set with determination. They knew the road ahead would be fraught with danger, but they were ready to face it together.

As the meeting adjourned, Uriel couldn't help but try to think what the demons felt was so important that they had to send in higher demons to possess humans.

Back on Earth, the relationship between John and Emily had gotten stronger and they seemed to be inseparable these days. They would spend their afternoons having a picnic whenever they weren't at work or go out for dinner at a restaurant.

Everything seemed to be going fine. And on one special night. While at the usual restaurant they were having a conversationat their table "I'm so happy I met you" said John happily.

"If I hadn't, who knows where I would be right about now. Probably dead".

"Come on, I believe you're a gift from above, John and I never want to lose you" Emily replied smiling warmly.

She leaned in trying to whisper something into his ear. Then she kissed him. It was a long passionate kiss.

That night they left the restaurant went home and they made passionate love for the first time since they've met.

Meanwhile outside the house, a street light begins to flicker. After flickering five times, a man appeared out of thin air. He was wearing a black coat and a black hat which cast a shadow upon his face "The time of reckoning is near" he said and at the next flicker he was gone just as fast as he had appeared.
