The first time I stepped into the Dungeon, I knew I had to be careful. Even with all my power, I didn't want to draw too much attention. Bell Cranel was supposed to be weak at the beginning, after all. But the monsters that emerged from the walls were nothing to me. Goblins, kobolds, and even the mighty Minotaur would have been mere playthings. With a flick of my wrist, I could erase them from existence, bend space around them until they were crushed by their own weight, or simply hurl a treasure from the Gate of Babylon to obliterate them.
But I played my role. I dodged and weaved, letting them get close before dispatching them with a basic knife. It was important to keep up appearances. The last thing I wanted was to draw the ire of the gods or alert anyone to the fact that Bell Cranel wasn't what he seemed. And the exelia gain would be higher if I were in danger or risky situations, that's how the falna system works after all, growing to overcome challenges.
But even with my power held back, it was hard not to revel in the thrill of combat. The adrenaline, the rush of victory—it was intoxicating. This was a world where I could be truly alive, where my abilities were finally given a chance to shine. I wasn't bound to the rules, I was the strongest.
As I reached the lower floors, I encountered the Minotaur. The beast was even more fearsome in person, its massive frame and blood-red eyes exuding a terrifying aura. In the original story, Bell would barely survive this encounter, his life hanging by a thread until Ais Wallenstein came to his rescue.
But I was not that Bell. I was built diffrently. And I will change this story to fit me and what I stood for.
The Minotaur roared and charged, its massive axe swinging down with deadly force. I merely raised a hand, allowing the Limitless technique: Infinity to activate. The axe stopped inches from my face, halted by an invisible barrier. The Minotaur's eyes widened in confusion, but before it could react, I unleashed a barrage of treasures from the Gate of Babylon, golden weapons piercing its hide and ending its life in an instant.
A splattering noise is heard.
The Dungeon fell silent.
I exhaled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. I wasn't just a rookie adventurer; I was something far more. I truly was the strongest.
But as I stood over the Minotaur's corpse, I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. This world had a story, and I was derailing it. Ais would never have her fated encounter with Bell, and the growth that Bell was supposed to experience… was I robbing him of that?
No. I shook my head, pushing the thought away. This was my story now. I would shape it as I saw fit.
As the day went on I jogged through Rivira, an adventurer built trade city inside the dungeon, on the eighteenth floor to be exact. I found the way lower and advanced, my goal is the Amphisbaena, the Monster Rex of the 27th floor. When I beat it, I'll go up and exchange the dropps I got from this hunt but for now I had to beat those green dragon looking monsters.
I gripped my cheap knife tightly and launched it at one of the 5 Dragons that stood before with a string of cursed energy attached to it to be able to move it around. and not lose the knife, as it was useful for me, not as a weapon but as a tool to carve the stones form the corpses of these monsters.
The knife reached its intended target and scratchesd it, causing it to roar in anger and monstrous fury. to which I charged and we met halfway exchanging blows. Me with my mind and cursed energy reinforcement and the beast with its powerful body fueled by the magic stone core within.
I jumped back analyzing my situation and noting the distinct lack of time caused due to my overprotective goddess and me not telling her that I'd be gone for a longer period than just a day.
I then suddenly had an idea, a very unlikely one but it Was worth a shot. Since the god/goddess giving you a blessing means they give you part of their essence, it should resonate with the one who gives oneself such blessing, so why don't I try telling hestia telepathically, that I may be gone longer.
I use blue to pull all of the green dragons in and cast reversal red to blow them up, so that I could start to try my luck at telepathy.
With a resounding crushing and exploding sound there reamain only I, standing with a grin of contentment on my face.
I gather the drops and magic crystals in the gate of babylon and then I sit down to meditate and feel the Falna on my back. I sat for a minute or two and I could feel it, I felt Hestia's presence through our link, The Falna. First I sent a pulse of mana her way to get her attention. then I infused my thought-message with mana and sent it her way aswell.
Not a second later Hestia sent me an okay signal but she also said, to be careful so I sent a kiss her way and cut the Conection.
I didn't know that the kiss I sent touched her entire body as I was moved by her worry for me and hadn't controlled the kiss and the direction I sent it to, it was all of Hestia and so Hestia had to wait for me all hot and bothered.
As I reached the twentyseventh Floor I stepped into it and suddenly I saw my target Amphisbaena.
Without hesitation I dashed to it and dodged out of the way of its double necked attack. and I had to analyze it and the info I knew of it.
It is a white, twin-headed, long-necked dragon more than 20 meters high and dozens of times wider than an Orc, with the right head having red eyes and the left blue. It is capable of two different breath attacks: the right head uses a crimson mist which surrounds itself and diffuses magic, while the left head breathes blue flames that burn even on water. In addition, it is capable of using its necks to hit opponents and attack them from underwater.
'I can absolutely beat it.'I thought to myself as I ran at it atop the water utilizing cursed energy to run on the water. We exchanged blows and it was stronger than my body could handle, luckily I had the reverse cursed technique and I had some potions from the starter kit given to adventurers for free.
I had enough damage done to me, and that's why I decided to end it quicker than I expected this battle to last. A lot of shining golden ripples distorted the air and illuminated the Surroundings as brilliant chains made of the finest gold ensnared the Amphisbaena and brought its necks to my height. I started chanting in a dominating and terrifying voice that shook the area: "Nine Ropes." "Polarized Light." "Crow and Declaration." "Between Front and Back." Hollow Purple!!!
A purple light emerged from my hand that pointed at the Amphisbaena before me and after the light fades nothing remains.
