Chapter 213 -   Chapter 213: The Landscape of the Windless Zone

"Hi... Hi~..." Jessie greeted the camera, awkward but polite.

She had dealt with countless traders before, but this was the first time she encountered something quite this strange.

Morgans continued speaking to the camera, as if reciting an opening monologue, regularly referencing his World Economic News and explaining the transaction process.

Just when Jessie thought Morgans would ramble on, the camera suddenly panned back to her.

Even though it was his first time recording a video, as an experienced journalist, Morgans knew exactly what his audience wanted to see.

"Alright! Let's begin the dimensional transaction!"

After adjusting the camera to ensure both he and Jessie were in the frame, Morgans flashed a beaky smile.

"Miss Jessie, my apologies for the delay. Let's start our transaction."

"Uh... okay..." Jessie was momentarily caught off guard but quickly remembered her role. Straightening up, she flashed a bright smile at the camera.

Since Morgans was promoting the dimensional trade, Jessie deliberately fine-tuned her words.

"Well, Mr. Morgans, let's begin by redeeming points."

"I'll project the trading system into your mind. The interface will show you the resources you can redeem for points. You just need to mentally select the resources you want and confirm your choice to complete the transaction."

"Oh? Mind-powered trading?" Morgans reacted with exaggerated astonishment.

His over-the-top reaction didn't go unnoticed.

What an act, Jessie mused to herself.

She found it hard to believe that the head of the world's largest intelligence network wasn't already familiar with the transaction process that had spread across the seas.

But, matching his energy, Jessie upped her own performance and responded just as theatrically, smiling:

"Yes! Thanks to Lord Leo, who created this incredible, one-of-a-kind trading system, every transaction is so effortless!"

"Alright, Mr. Morgans, I'll project the trading system into your mind now."

Jessie lightly tapped the table and, in an instant, used her authority to project the system into Morgans' mind.

Morgans closed his eyes, pretending to marvel at the magical system, describing the experience in vivid detail. After his theatrics, he began selecting the resources for his transaction.

Oddly enough, Morgans took an unusually long time to finalize his selection.

Just as Jessie was starting to feel a little bored and stifled a yawn, Morgans finally opened his eyes, and for the first time since entering, his eyes lit up with genuine interest in dimensional trading.

"I've completed the transaction, Miss Jessie."

"Great..." Jessie nodded slightly and began checking Morgans' transaction data through the subsystem in her mind.

But then, her expression froze.

"VIP Level 6 member of the Transdimensional Chamber of Commerce...?"

Someone who had never traded before suddenly had a Level 6 membership...

This meant that Morgans' transaction value just now must have reached at least 50 billion Berries!

A newspaper publisher, this rich!?

If Jessie had known this, she and James might have considered leaving Team Rocket to start a newspaper business instead of catching Pokémon.

Her heart pounded, and she instantly looked at Morgans in a whole new light.

This birdman was a rare and incredibly important customer!

Aside from the Revolutionary Army, this was only the second time she'd encountered such a wealthy trader.

Immediately, Jessie's smile became radiant—like the golden sun breaking through clouds, so dazzling that Morgans momentarily squinted.

In the sweetest voice she could muster, Jessie said:

"Congratulations, Mr. Morgans, on becoming a VIP Level 6 member of the Transdimensional Chamber of Commerce. Here's your Rotom phone. Please keep it safe."

She handed Morgans a Rotom phone, perfectly matching his stylish outfit.

After taking the phone, Morgans toyed with it for a moment, intrigued, before tapping the screen.

Almost instantly, the phone lit up, displaying his personal information:

[Morgans]

[VIP Level: 6]

[VIP Experience: 100,000/1,000,000]

[Current Points: 100,000]

"Is this my personal info?" Morgans smiled, then, unconcerned with privacy, proudly displayed the phone's interface to the camera for his audience.

Once Morgans finished showing off, Jessie smiled again and asked:

"Shall we proceed to the next transaction, Mr. Morgans?"

"Of course."

"So, what kind of Pokémon are you looking to acquire?"

"Pokémon..."

Morgans hesitated for a moment.

Though new to trading, he knew that 100,000 points was no small sum. If he chose to exchange for a powerful Pokémon, it could be stronger than even Ace or Garp.

However...

Everyone has their own ambitions.

Morgans wasn't a conqueror or adventurer. For him, strength was merely a tool for survival. What mattered more was whether his newspaper could shock the world, and whether everyone could read the news he printed.

There was, however, one place his paper couldn't reach—the windless zones on both sides of the Grand Line, which separated the four seas from the Grand Line itself.

Despite breeding exceptional birds, none were capable of delivering newspapers in the windless zones, where there was no air movement. Birds needed to flap their wings constantly, which drained too much energy.

After several failed attempts, Morgans had given up on the idea.

But now, with Pokémon in play, perhaps they could do what his birds couldn't.

Under the camera's watchful lens, Morgans explained his request to Jessie.

...

...

After a moment, Jessie thought aloud, "You want a Pokémon that can deliver newspapers in areas without wind?"

She pondered the ideal Pokémon for this unique task. Given the job of delivering newspapers, bird Pokémon were the obvious choice.

Though strong flying Pokémon could navigate the windless zone, a large fleet would be needed to deliver newspapers on time, which ruled out particularly expensive or rare Pokémon.

After inputting a few parameters into the trading system, Jessie scanned the Pokémon listings.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up when she spotted a red and white owl-like Pokémon.

"Delibird!!!"

Jessie beamed as she recognized the Pokémon.

It wasn't unfamiliar to her—Team Rocket had encountered this Pokémon more than once during their adventures in the Pokémon world.

Although the flight speed of the Delibird is much slower compared to other bird Pokémon like Braviary or Swellow, it possesses physical attributes that far surpass those of ordinary bird Pokémon. Rated as a top-tier transporter by scientists in the Pokémon world, Delibird combines traits like high energy, vitality, and sleeplessness. These qualities allow it to operate efficiently in even the most challenging environments, such as the windless zones Morgans mentioned.

Additionally, Delibird's signature bag is like a small spatial storage unit, capable of holding a substantial amount of goods—perfect for delivering newspapers.

After a brief moment of thought, Jessie flashed a sweet smile and turned the screen toward Morgans.

"Mr. Morgans, based on your needs, I recommend purchasing a large number of Delibird hatchlings. With proper care and training, they'll soon become a striking and efficient presence in the windless zones!"

——

[Pokémon: Delibird]

[Type: Ice, Flying]

[Abilities: Hustle (Increases attack power in battle, but slightly reduces accuracy)/Vital Spirit (Keeps the Pokémon full of energy, preventing it from falling asleep)/Insomnia (This Pokémon doesn't sleep and can't be affected by sleep-inducing moves, making it capable of working continuously)]

[Level: 1-10]

[Price: 50-200 points]

——

Reading through the Delibird's characteristics, Morgans couldn't help but smirk slightly.

Motivation, vitality, sleeplessness...

One works diligently, another tirelessly, and the last one works without sleep…

What magical traits!

For a moment, Morgans, the world-renowned capitalist, felt a pang of sympathy. Such perfect employees really did exist.

He almost wished he could fire his current staff of human reporters, who worked just for food, and replace them with these incredible Delibirds.

But business comes first.

After silently contemplating the fate of the Delibird for three seconds, Morgans snapped back into his usual capitalist mindset. After a brief pause, he nodded with a grin and said,

"Miss Jessie, thank you for the recommendation. I'm more than satisfied! I've decided to use all my 100,000 points to purchase these charming little workers!"

"Please proceed, Miss Jessie."

Elated at the successful transaction, Morgans almost forgot he was recording the process, momentarily neglecting to explain to the audience what was happening.

When Jessie heard Morgans had just sealed a 100,000-point deal to acquire a fleet of Pokémon, she couldn't help but beam.

With a swift pat of her hands and a toss of her pink hair, she tilted her head and responded brightly:

"Alright, please give me a moment."

——

At the same time, as Morgans was finalizing his purchase of Delibird, Doflamingo, who had been waiting his turn, stepped forward holding his number and slowly made his way to Room 1.

"Welcome, Mr. Doflamingo. Please have a seat," greeted Leo with an unprecedented smile as he acknowledged the flamboyantly dressed man.

Doflamingo, leader of the Donquixote family, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, king of Dressrosa, ruler of the underworld, and a man with the bloodline of the Celestial Dragons—though unrecognized by them—sat down slowly, trying to mask his unease.

"Hello, Sir Leo!" Doflamingo nodded politely, though his face maintained its usual devilish grin, a result of muscle memory. This contrast between his polite demeanor and sinister expression created an unintentionally humorous scene.

Despite the irony of it all, Leo did not laugh. He knew that today, out of hundreds of traders, Doflamingo was one of the few truly important clients.

"Please, no need for formalities, Mr. Doflamingo," Leo said casually, waving his hand. With a flick of his wrist, two glasses of fine red wine materialized on the table. Leo was the only one of the four traders who dared to relax and drink while working.

"I'm sure you're already familiar with the transaction process," Leo continued.

"Yes, I've familiarized myself with it," Doflamingo replied, seemingly loosening up in response to Leo's relaxed manner. He picked up a glass, took a sip, and set it down.

With a hint of admiration in his voice, Doflamingo added, "I must say, I never imagined that such a powerful entity like you existed beyond the world I know. Your appearance has made me realize that I was living a self-righteous life, thinking I controlled everything, when in fact, I was merely a clown."

Doflamingo wasn't flattering Leo; his words were genuine. As a master of the String-String Fruit, Doflamingo always believed he had the power to manipulate the world. From coercing the Navy into granting him the title of Shichibukai, to manipulating King Riku to give up his throne, and even secretly developing artificial Devil Fruits—he had always reveled in pulling the strings behind the scenes.

However, after encountering Leo, Doflamingo realized just how little control he actually had. Leo could shake the entire world with a mere wave of his hand or a few words.

This realization made Doflamingo truly admire him.

But Leo was uninterested in Doflamingo's admiration.

What truly intrigued him was how many points Doflamingo would bring to the next transaction...
