"Wade, we have a customer. We'll talk later," Rosh said, waving goodbye to Deadpool before putting down his phone and turning to greet the new customer.
"Welcome to the store," Rosh greeted with a polite smile.
"Thank you, Shopkeeper," Morbius replied just as courteously, all the while discreetly examining the shop's interior design.
When Helen Cho first told him about the Devil Fruit, Morbius was skeptical, with doubt outweighing belief. After discussing this with his assistant, he decided to visit the place she had mentioned, albeit with low expectations. But to his surprise, he found a store called "Home of the Devil Fruits."
Honestly, the sight of the shop gave Morbius a bit more confidence in Helen's story. After all, it seemed unlikely that she would go to the trouble of setting up a fake store just to deceive him. Still, he couldn't help but find it strange that such a mystical store could look so simple. Anyone unaware might mistake it for a regular fruit shop; it was far from what he had imagined.
"Shopkeeper, could I ask if you sell a special type of fruit called the 'Devil Fruit'?" Morbius asked cautiously, unable to think of a better term than "special" to describe it. Despite the store's name clearly indicating "Devil Fruits," Morbius still needed to confirm. After all, it was possible the name was just for show, and the fruit might not even exist.
Upon hearing this, Rosh immediately understood. This man had likely experienced the miraculous powers of a Devil Fruit and had come specifically for it.
"Of course," Rosh responded confidently, gesturing toward the display case beside him. "Please, take a look. These are all Devil Fruits."
Morbius peered into the display case, his expression turning more and more intrigued. The colorful fruits looked strange—almost unnatural. 'These are Devil Fruits? They looked odd and a bit unsettling. Could they really be edible?'
"You've probably heard rumors about this shop before coming here, haven't you?" Rosh continued with a knowing look. "Whatever you've heard, I can assure you, it's all true."
"Shopkeeper, do you happen to know Dr. Helen Cho?" After a moment of thought, Morbius asked, not letting Rosh's sales pitch distract him.
Rosh smiled, understanding the situation immediately. This man must have been one of the people Helen had cured. 'Wait a minute.' Rosh suddenly realized who he was talking to. 'Isn't this the scientist who turned into a vampire? No wonder he looked familiar!'
From what Rosh remembered, Morbius had contracted a rare blood disease and, in his desperate search for a cure, had experimented with bat DNA, which had turned him into a sort of enhanced vampire. But now, it seemed that Helen had cured his illness.
"Dr. Cho was one of my earliest customers. She purchased the Heal-Heal Fruit from my shop, which gave her the ability to heal any disease," Rosh explained with a nod. "I take it you've witnessed this power firsthand?"
"I'm not entirely sure yet. In fact, that's why I came here," Morbius replied honestly after a moment's thought. "Could I see that mystical Heal-Heal Fruit for myself?"
"Unfortunately, we only stock one of each type of Devil Fruit, and the Heal-Heal Fruit has already been sold to Dr. Cho. However…" Rosh reached for a catalog and handed it to Morbius. "Here's a description of the Heal-Heal Fruit. If you're interested, take a look." Rosh pointed to the entry for the Healing Fruit.
Morbius glanced at the description, and it matched exactly what Helen had told him, leaving no room for doubt. Feeling satisfied, he began skimming through the rest of the catalog, which detailed various other strange and wondrous fruits.
Some fruits could render the surroundings completely silent. While others enabled communication with animals. One could even remove all colors from objects. The different fruit descriptions opened Morbius's eyes to a world of endless possibilities, as though a door to an entirely new reality had been flung wide open. If everything in this catalog was true, Morbius's entire worldview and understanding of science would be shattered.
'Wait, what's this?' Morbius' eyes landed on something that particularly intrigued him. 'Horm-Horm Fruit?'
As a whirlwind of thoughts raced through his mind, one fruit in particular caught his attention. 'Hormones were essentially chemicals that controlled various functions in the body. Could this fruit really control human hormones at will?'
Hormones were directly tied to the field of biochemistry, which was Morbius's area of expertise. 'If the Horm-Horm Fruit could truly manipulate the body's hormonal balance, it could revolutionize my research and open new frontiers!'
"Shopkeeper, does the Horm-Horm Fruit really allow complete control over the body's hormones, just like it says in the catalog?" Morbius asked, his eyes alight with curiosity.
"Absolutely! The Hormone Fruit allows you to control body temperature, emotions, pigmentation, growth, and other factors. You can even modify a person's physical characteristics." Rosh explained.
At first, Morbius wasn't particularly surprised. Hormones naturally had these effects, so that was to be expected. But then, Rosh's following statement caught him off guard, challenging everything he knew.
"And I should note that these modifications happen far more quickly than you might imagine. For example, by using female hormones, you could turn a man into a woman in a matter of seconds!"
