There are only a few days left before the Mana Train, which the Dwarf Cat-eared Elf would ride for their travel, arrives at Green Dale Town.
With Vier's problem regarding her Magic Items being solved thanks to the help of her Master Berlin, there's only one problem left for Vier to deal with.
It would be tough to travel carrying all her luggage and weapons without using a Storage Skill of the Storage Bracelet or Storage Spell of Item Bag.
That's why Vier needs to find a new companion, a pet slime that would serve as her storage with its Storage Skill.
Since Vier can't use Magic Skill using Monster Core or directly use Magic Spell because of her unique condition of having no Attribute in Magic, Vier and her Onee-chan have come up with an idea that if she can't use the Storage Skill from the Slime Monster Core why not train a Slime Monster to assist Vier with its Storage Skill.
Using that idea, Vier, at the age of 6, has started to catch and train Slime Monsters.
Vier's first pet slime is Puro-I, a Slime Monster with a transparent brown color. She has secretly kept Puro-I at the storage building at the back of Adventurers School for half a year until her beloved teacher, Misaki, found Vier slipping at night to feed Puro-I.
After Misaki discovered Puro-I and scolded Vier, who was crying as she tried to explain to Misaki her plan about the Slime Monster, Misaki decided to let Puro-I live inside the Adventurers School as a research project for Vier and her classmates.
Another half year had passed before Puro-I lost its life. As Vier and her friends grieve for the death of the pet slime they were all looking after, Misaki explains to them that it would be tough for low-ranking monsters to live away from Dungeons or in a place where there's not enough Mana for them to absorb.
With Puro-I's death, Vier recovers its Monster Core and stores it at her keepsake.
Not wanting to give up and let Puro-I's sacrifice go to waste, Vier took care of another Slime Monster. Puro-II, Vier's second pet slime, has a transparent green color.
Like Puro-I, Puro-II lives at the Adventurers School. Learning from her mistake in looking after Puro-I, Vier managed to keep Puro-II for more than a year by feeding her pet slime with Mana Crystal.
However, even though Puro-II survived for more than a year, Vier was unsuccessful in training her pet slime to understand human words and listen to her commands. After another year, Puro-II reaches the end of its life.
Vier wanted to give up after experiencing sadness from losing her pet slime monster twice. But her Onee-chan convinced Vier to give it one last try.
Believing once again to the encouragement from her Onee-chan, Vier together with Mifumi, Rozze, and Felin, went to the forest around their town to look for a new pet slime.
Puro-I and Puro-II are both normal-looking Slime Monsters with the size of a 20 to 30-centimeter round ball. That's why Vier decided that for the third time, she would look for a much smaller Slime Monster, thinking that a much smaller size would require a much smaller amount of Mana to live.
With that goal in mind, Vier, along with her friends, looks for a new pet slime.
That's when Vier meets an unusual Slime Monster.
The unusual Slime Monster was much smaller compared to other normal Slime Monsters, as it was only around the size of Vier's hand. It was resting under the shadow of bushes with a piece of clothes wrapped around its body.
...It is lazing around like it is sleeping comfortably...
That was Vier's thought as she stared and watched the unusual Slime Monster.
When the Slime Monster made a move as it noticed Vier's presence, it didn't even bother to run but moved like it was looking at Vier.
Getting curious about its unusual behavior, Vier raised her hand in front of the Slime Monster to offer it to come with her.
Vier was anxious about what it would do. After a few minutes of constantly staring at her, the unusual Slime Monster made a jump to accept the hand that she had offered.
With its unusual behavior of wrapping itself on clothes, Vier made a vermillion-colored rode and gave it to her new pet slime along with the name Puro-III.
The first pet slime who would be able to understand her words and listen to her.
The pet slime who would stay and fight by her side as a friend and loyal companion.
.
.
.
"That's how I met Puro-III."
"We know. We were with you when you met Puro-III back then, Vier-chan."
"Mhm!... Puro-III is a small Slime."
"So are you going to look for a Slime Monster like Puro-III?"
"That's the plan. But this time, we don't need to keep looking around."
As Vier explained her plan to Mifumi, Felin, and Rozze, she pulled out some small tailored hats, robes, and helmets from her bag.
"We're going to scatter all these small headgears around and wait for a Slime who would be interested in wearing them like Puro-III."
Following Vier's introduction, Mifumi, Felin, and Rozze scattered all of Vier's small headgears around and hid behind a tree and bush to keep constant watch.
After hours of waiting, Felin saw some movement at the place where she scattered the headgears.
"Vier... There is a small Slime."
What Vier saw as everyone gathered to where Felin was hiding was a small transparent white color Slime Monster moving around the scattered headgears like it was choosing which one to wear.
A few minutes later, the small Slime chooses an azure-colored headgear that looks like a Knight's helmet.
Seeing a Slime with the same behavior as Puro-III, Vier runs towards it to once again offer her hand and ask the Slime to come with her.
Like Puro-III, the small Slime didn't run away and move like it was staring at Vier. But this time, the Slime didn't jump and accept the hand she had offered. It jumps straight to Vier's face and tackles her.
...Smack!...
"Ouch!... Stop, stop, stop jumping on my face!"
The small Slime keeps on jumping on her face as Vier stumbles on the ground.
It wouldn't leave Vier no matter what she and Mifumi, Felin, and Rozze did.
With the small Slime that wouldn't leave her side, Vier has found a new pet slime. A new companion, not as a replacement for Puro-III but as an addition to all the Puro-Slimes she once had.
A Puro-Slime named Puro-IV.
