"We're the ones who live in the darkness of our own shadow...
...We wear our mask in our daily life as to hide who we truly are...
...Not only to the ones we vow to hunt but also to the ones we swear to protect...
...For we are the ones who swear to protect what is left and what we found...
...For we are the ones who vow to hunt those who have stolen...
...So we will fight not only to stop the pain but for the other to not suffer the same...
...Because we are the ones who know what it feels like to lose...
...As we are the Spectre of the one we lost."
The Orphan girl listens as one of the head caretakers of the Orphanage explains the opportunity offered to her.
She was offered to become a Spectre.
To become someone who will have two different identities, hiding one from the other as she lives the life of another.
To conceal what she is capable of under the pretext of being a normal person.
To hide who she truly is not only from her enemies but also from everyone she loves.
To fight not only for herself but for the sake of others.
Because she knows the pain of losing someone, everyone who is important to her.

The Orphan girl wasn't originally born in the town where she is currently living.
Before she was an orphan, she was just an ordinary girl living in a small village on the outskirts of their Kingdom near the border.
She has a loving mother and father and a caring older sister.
Her family doesn't have a lot. They're just normal villagers living an average life. Yet they are living happily, and she wouldn't trade that for any amount of money as she would pay whatever amount just to get back that life that was stolen from her.
The Orphan girl was at the age of 3 when an incident happened in their small village.
Soldiers from the neighboring Empire from the northern part of the continent have infiltrated the border of their Kingdom.
The soldiers of the Empire invaded their small village to use it as a base for their operation. During the invasion, the adults of the village, along with her mother and father, stayed behind to fight, allowing all the children to run away and escape.
Her sister holds her arm as they run away and escape together with the other children of the village. Yet even with all of their efforts, the soldiers caught up to them.
She was hidden under the hollow of tree roots along with other small children while the older ones, along with her sister, sacrificed themselves as bait to get the attention of the soldiers.
That was the last time she has seen her older sister.
After getting rescued by her beloved teacher, the girl, along with the other small children, were brought to the Orphanage in the town where they are currently living.
She was told that all of the adults, along with her mother and father, who stayed to fight, lost their lives, and the older children, along with her older sister, who used themselves as bait for the soldiers, were never found.
The girl who has now become an orphan cries at the death of her parents while still holding to a single hope that her older sister survives and is safe somewhere else.

As the years go by, living in the Orphanage, the Orphan girl has found a new family.
The children living at the Orphanage, the caretakers who are looking after them, her beloved teacher who saved her, and her closest friends who are always with her.
Her weird friend who would always drag her into trouble.
The young Cat-girl who she always looks after at the Orphanage.
The noble Half-Elf who's always friendly with her even though she's just an orphan.
Those are the new family she had found not as a replacement but as an addition to the family she once had.
Then, on the fateful day, when her weird friend declared that the four of them would have a great adventure that would be told and remembered for thousands of years, the Orphan girl made a silent promise.
She promised herself that she would do everything to make that dream come true.
Even if she needs to live two different identities, hiding one from the other as she lives the life of another.
Even if she has to give up being an Adventurer and conceal what she is capable of under the pretext of being a normal person.
Even if she has to hide from her newfound family and closest friends who she truly is.
She's going to fight not only for herself but for the sake of her friends.
To protect them not from monsters but from the likes of those soldiers who have stolen her family from her.
She would never feel the pain of losing someone important to her again, and she would never allow that pain to be felt by those who are important to her.
On that day, the Orphan girl accepted the offer to become a Spectre.
