After the incident where the drink spilled on the book, I cleaned myself up before facing Khane again. It didn't take long to freshen up; I finished in a few minutes and quickly put on new clothes. I didn't change much about my appearance except for my clothes. I just brushed my long hair until it was smooth and used minimal makeup.
Once I was ready, I stepped out of the room and started looking for Khane.
"Where did he go?" I wondered aloud.
I scanned the entire room, searching, but there was no sign of Khane anywhere until a servant brought a tray of drinks to the lounge.
"Right, I haven't checked that room," I murmured as I walked towards the lounge.
I stepped into the lounge, and sure enough, there he was. As I approached, Khane didn't turn around once. His body was facing the window, looking at the bright sky outside. I decided to sit on the sofa not far from where Khane stood.
"What have you been doing these past few days?" Khane asked suddenly.
I was slightly startled and stammered as I tried to answer. But in the end, I had to respond.
"Not much. I've just been spending my boredom in the gym and the reading room, as you saw earlier."
I saw Khane turn around and look at me sharply. That piercing gaze was indeed his trademark.
"Why only that?" I frowned at Khane's question.
"I'm confused, I'm bored being here. Despite the luxury around me, I feel like I can't do anything. I'm too afraid to touch anything." That was my answer, and I hoped he wouldn't get angry because of it.
Khane sat in his chair, his arms folded across his chest. His body was so imposing, I could see the muscles bulging under the fabric. Unfortunately, this man had a terrifying image in my eyes.
From the entrance, I saw a large man entering the room. He bowed briefly and said, "Sir, the car is ready."
"Follow me!" Khane commanded, grabbing my hand and pulling me to follow him.
I was quite shocked by his actions. I couldn't resist because I was too scared of his power.
"Where are we going?" I asked as he pulled me towards the door.
Khane didn't answer and kept walking. I decided to stop, hoping he would answer first. But instead of stopping, he pulled me harder, causing my wrist to hurt.
"Ouch! Sir, that hurts!" I complained, making Khane stop.
Khane glared at me, "What is it?"
"Where are we going? Why are you pulling me so hard? My wrist hurts." Khane glanced at my reddened wrist caused by his grip.
"Sorry. I'm taking you shopping."
Shopping? Oh my... it's been so long since I've done that. But I mustn't get too excited. Even though I'm happy, I don't want Khane to think I'm too easily swayed.
"I-I don't want to rely on you, Sir. I…."
"Are you refusing?" Khane's question made me shake my head. That was indeed a terrifying sentence.
Especially when Khane said it. In the end, we went to the city center's shopping mall together.
After so long not seeing the outside world, I felt very happy to see all this now. Even if only for a short while, at least I could breathe fresh air.
Before I knew it, the car entered the shopping mall area, but there was a special door for us to enter through. It seemed like a hidden door meant for people like Khane.
Khane walked in front of me, while behind us were at least five large men in black suits and matching sunglasses. I had no idea where their gazes were fixed. All I knew was they were there to protect Khane.
Without warning, Khane suddenly stopped, and I bumped into his back. Khane said, "Go inside, choose whatever clothes you want. Take whatever you need. Don't you have the card?"
I nodded, even though Khane didn't see it. My steps were hesitant as I entered the store selling branded items.
"Are you sure I can buy something in there?" I asked for reassurance.
Khane glared at me, and before he could answer, I stepped inside.
I could see that the materials used in every clothing model were top-notch. Even the women's shoes and bags had their own appeal.
"Why am I confused? I could just buy all of this," I murmured, and then I heard someone clear their throat.
"Ahem! Miss, what are you doing in this store?" the person asked in a tone that made no sense to me.
"Hmm, I want to buy some clothes, women's shoes, and bags. Can you show me the best-selling products here?" I asked with a smile.
I could see the look of disdain on his face. He even eyed me from head to toe. Maybe he thought I was a woman who couldn't afford to shop here.
"Isn't the store across the way more suited to someone like you? I think they have many discounts. Our store doesn't offer discounts unless you pay with a credit card or your total purchase is over a hundred million."
My eyes widened at his explanation. So... I had to shop that much to get a discount? But... Khane said I could use his card. I decided to show him the card Khane gave me.
"Here, I have a card like this. Can I buy something here?" I asked, handing over the card.
He quickly took the card and examined it closely. Suddenly, he called someone from the front of the store. A security guard stood behind me.
"Arrest this woman. She just stole this card from a wealthy man." The employee outright accused me of something I didn't do.
As the security guard grabbed me, I struggled and denied that the card was stolen.
"No! I didn't steal it! I got it from someone. Let me call him here." I wriggled and tried to break free, but it was futile.
"Explain it at our office, Miss. Please follow me," the guard said firmly.
"Hurry up! Get her out of here!"
Khane, where is he right now? Why isn't Khane anywhere near me?
I couldn't fight back; I also had no proof because Khane wasn't here. But suddenly, a man in a black suit, one of Khane's guards, came and grabbed the security guard.
"What are you doing?" the guard asked angrily.
"Let go of my woman!" Khane said firmly.
