Lena Luthor gritted her teeth, holding back her emotions as she listened in silence. She wanted answers but knew better than to provoke Su Sheng.
"I've heard there's an underground casino that's been trending lately—specializing in betting on alien fights. Get in touch with them for me. I'd like to take a look," Su Sheng remarked casually, turning to Lena with a knowing smirk. "After all, you've got the cold blood and cruelty of the Luthor family."
"I was adopted," Lena responded sharply, her tone laced with bitterness.
Su Sheng merely chuckled, flying off without another word.
As Su Sheng soared into the sky, his bracelet suddenly lit up with a flashing signal. Indigo appeared as a virtual image, informing him, "I've detected a spaceship rapidly approaching Earth. It appears to be a Kryptonian vessel."
"A Kryptonian ship? Could it be him?"
Su Sheng quickly realized who it likely was. "That must be Mon-El, the prince of Daxam," he mused aloud.
Daxam, a neighboring planet of Krypton, had exploded around the same time. Mon-El's claim to fame came later when he arrived on Earth and fell in love with Supergirl, inadvertently sparking a conflict that brought Daxam's remnants to Earth. In the comics, Mon-El eventually joined the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st century, but for now, he was just arriving.
"Well, talk about timing," Su Sheng smirked, heading toward the spacecraft's predicted landing site.
As the Kryptonian vessel streaked through Earth's atmosphere, it appeared like a falling meteor, engulfed in flames. Su Sheng, flying ahead, exhaled a stream of icy breath, cooling the fiery craft and causing it to lose power as it descended. With a gentle twist of his fingers, he conjured a whirlwind beneath the ship, lifting it and carrying it toward a secluded area.
Once in the middle of nowhere, Su Sheng gently set the spaceship down. Indigo materialized beside him, immediately getting to work as she opened the Disciple, Su Sheng's personal vessel.
Click!
With a quick tug, Su Sheng opened the hatch of the Kryptonian spacecraft. Inside, a young man lay unconscious—Mon-El.
"Lock him up for now," Su Sheng instructed Indigo, then activated the Speed Force, zipping around the spacecraft in a blur. In no time, he dismantled the Kryptonian ship into parts, securing it within the Disciple.
"Another Kryptonian?" Indigo asked, curious as she gazed at Mon-El's unconscious form in the cell. "What's your plan? Will you send him to Supergirl's side or Superman's?"
Su Sheng shook his head. "No, he's got a different destiny."
Indigo nodded with a knowing smile. "By the way, Zod Chao has been locked up in the DEO for now. They're still skeptical of his identity and story. Even Supergirl doesn't fully grasp the ancient history of Krypton or the shifts in their civilization, which has made Kryptonian lore seem even more mysterious. Also, your servant Talon has returned. Would you like to meet?"
"Sure," Su Sheng replied, smiling.
In National City, Su Sheng and Indigo sat in a cozy café by the window, sipping their drinks. About ten minutes later, a woman entered, scanning the room before spotting them and heading over.
Su Sheng watched her approach. She wore black high heels and slim-fitting ankle jeans that accentuated her long legs. A dark blue blouse, with its cuffs rolled up slightly, complemented her poised demeanor. Her long brown hair fell in soft waves, and her delicate features gave her a mix of beauty and competence.
"Hello, Ms. Blaney," she greeted Indigo with a polite smile.
Indigo, originally known as Brainiac 8, introduced her. "This is Samantha Arias, an evangelist for Kryptonian religious culture."
"And this is my master, Su Sheng, who has always supported your cause."
Samantha's eyes shifted to Su Sheng as she smiled warmly. "May the glory of the Holy Spirit be with you."
"The light of the Holy Spirit is with me, indeed," Su Sheng replied with a knowing smile.
Activating his psychic powers, Su Sheng delved into Samantha's past. Raised by an adoptive mother who was a devout follower of Krypton's ancient gods, Samantha had grown up immersed in tales of Krypton's divine history. As an adult, she became a fervent believer herself, eventually founding a church dedicated to spreading the Kryptonian faith, particularly after the public appearance of Superman and Supergirl strengthened the belief in Krypton's Holy God. Her devotion was absolute—she was willing to give everything, even her life, for the cause.
Su Sheng was intrigued by what he learned. Although Samantha didn't remember it, she was likely the baby girl he and Indigo had encountered in the Kryptonian spacecraft during their time travels. Now, fully grown, she seemed unaware of her true origins and powers, living as a normal human—aside from a few memory gaps and occasional hints of something more.
Turning to Indigo, Su Sheng noticed her mischievous smile. "What have you been up to?" he asked.
Indigo merely smiled, addressing Samantha. "The reason we're meeting you today is that my master wants to speak with you about something important. Let's go somewhere more private."
"Of course," Samantha replied, following them out of the café.
They walked through the city until Indigo led them into a secluded alleyway.
"Here?" Samantha asked, puzzled as they came to a stop.
Indigo smiled, slipping her hand into Su Sheng's and, under his curious gaze, produced a black ancient ring adorned with a holy symbol. She slipped the ring onto Su Sheng's finger.
"Kneel before your great and almighty Master, the Holy Spirit," Indigo commanded.
Samantha's eyes flared with a brilliant red glow as she dropped to one knee before Su Sheng, completely under his control.
Author's Note: Mon-El is a character who debuted in Supergirl season two and became romantically involved with the titular character. Samantha Arias, meanwhile, appeared as the main antagonist in season three, known as Reign, a powerful Kryptonian warrior.
