Boom!
A shockwave rippled through the room as Su Sheng activated his ability, creating a miniature wormhole right in the middle of the living room.
"This…"
"Once you go through, you'll be on Earth-One. I'll wait for your good news, and while you're at it, see if you can help me find the Flash's helmet from your world," Su Sheng instructed.
Jesse nodded, still a bit suspicious, and dove into the wormhole.
As the miniature wormhole disappeared, so did Jesse.
The Flash of Earth-2 had initially posed as Zoom, and his helmet had supposedly been stolen from the real Flash of Earth-3. Su Sheng had visited Earth-2 twice but had never encountered the Flash of Earth-3. He wasn't sure if the Flash had escaped or died, but if Jesse could retrieve his helmet, it might help Su Sheng locate Earth-Three.
If Jesse couldn't find Zod or the Crime Syndicate, Su Sheng would start searching other worlds himself.
Just as Su Sheng sent Jesse away, Indigo contacted him.
He used his powers to wake Astra from the Black Mercy's grip. Su Sheng didn't ask what surprise Indigo had in store for him; he simply leaned back on the sofa to rest. It wasn't long before there was a knock at the door. When he opened it, Indigo was standing there with a few large boxes. Su Sheng's eyes narrowed as he saw that they were filled with kryptonite.
"You got kryptonite from Superman?" Su Sheng asked, genuinely surprised.
Indigo smiled sweetly. "If they want to proceed with the Great Purge, they'll need your approval, so they had to pay a small price."
"Perfect timing. I've been meaning to study kryptonite," Su Sheng said, pleased. Indigo might not be a good person—in fact, she had plans to eradicate humanity when she first appeared in the TV series—but Su Sheng was more than satisfied with her work. He lifted the boxes, phased through the ceiling, and made his way to the rooftop platform.
Releasing the Disciple, Su Sheng activated its stealth mode.
He stowed away the kryptonite and decided to leave the Disciple here for now. With its network connection, he could monitor everything remotely, and in stealth mode, it would be nearly impossible for anyone to find.
Indigo draped herself over Su Sheng's shoulders from behind, a sly smile on her face. "In addition to the kryptonite, I have another surprise."
"Another surprise? What is it?" Su Sheng asked, intrigued.
Indigo's smile widened. "This one might involve some time travel."
"I'm starting to like you more and more," Su Sheng said with a grin. "You're really proving your worth."
"Of course!"
Indigo chuckled, walking over to the console to take control of the Disciple. It slowly lifted off and disappeared with a whoosh.
In the next moment, the Disciple reappeared in the night sky.
As soon as they emerged, a streak of fire crossed the sky—something was falling from space.
"That looks like a Kryptonian spacecraft. Is this the moment when Supergirl arrived on Earth? No, wait!" Su Sheng squinted at the spacecraft, noticing that it carried a baby. Supergirl was already a little girl when she arrived on Earth, so this couldn't be her. Was it Superman?
Indigo flashed outside the Disciple and used its tractor beam to alter the spacecraft's course, guiding it gently to the ground.
The hatch of the spacecraft slowly opened, revealing the tiny passenger inside.
A baby girl.
Su Sheng glanced at Indigo, who explained with a sly smile, "This is the second surprise I mentioned. Before Krypton exploded, in addition to Superman and Supergirl, another was sent ahead. Her name is Dominator."
"She'll live in this world like an ordinary person, asleep to her true nature, until one day she awakens," Indigo continued. "She's even stronger than Supergirl!"
"What's this symbol mean?" Su Sheng asked, pointing to the emblem on the spacecraft.
Indigo giggled. "That's one of the surprises I'll keep secret for now."
"Alright," Su Sheng nodded nonchalantly. "So what do you plan to do with her? You're not going to adopt her, are you?"
"Of course not. I just wanted you to know she exists. I'll make sure she lives out her original destiny, with just a few small changes…"
With that, Indigo climbed into the spacecraft. The hatch closed, and the ship slowly took off, disappearing into the night sky.
About an hour later, Indigo returned.
The two of them traveled back to the present time aboard the Disciple. Once they were back, Indigo asked, "May I take the Disciple out again?"
"Can't you tell me what for?" Su Sheng asked.
Indigo shook her head. "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you now."
"Go ahead," Su Sheng said, intrigued by what she had planned. Letting Indigo take the Disciple was no big deal; he was still connected to its system, and while Indigo might be able to outmaneuver Gideon, she couldn't outmaneuver him.
Night slowly descended.
After sending Jesse away and Indigo taking off again, Su Sheng contemplated calling Lucy Lane or Siobhan Smythe over, or maybe even Kara. But before he could decide, Indigo had already returned.
The Disciple landed on the roof, re-entering stealth mode.
Indigo emerged from Su Sheng's bracelet.
"How was the time travel?" Su Sheng asked with a smile.
"Not bad!" Indigo replied with a sweet smile. "Tomorrow, I'll show you the surprise!"
Dominator? Su Sheng repeated the name in his mind. Indigo hadn't called her that before, but she had said it so naturally just now. Though he didn't know how long she had been messing around in the past, it was clearly enough time to change the way she referred to certain things. Su Sheng didn't check the Disciple's time-travel records; he didn't know which era Indigo had visited, but he was genuinely excited.
When it came to surprises, Indigo knew how to deliver!
As the sun rose on a new day, people awoke to shocking news.
Metropolis was under martial law.
Overnight, the entire city had been brought under control. It was as if everyone had been turned into a puppet, continuing their work as if nothing had changed. Meanwhile, Superman declared that Metropolis was now a peace zone—no crime would ever be committed there again.
