Chapter 193 - Chapter 192: The Deal with Lucy Lane

A few minutes passed, and Su Sheng received a photo from Lucy Lane. Her skin had a healthy, sun-kissed glow. Though not tall, her figure was curvaceous and alluring, more than Su Sheng had expected.

"Interesting," Su Sheng murmured with a chuckle. "I never realized she had such a body under those clothes. Jimmy, Jimmy, your fiancée was quite a catch. Too bad you might never get to see this side of her."

The disparity in status and the demands of their respective careers meant that their relationship was always on borrowed time, especially since Jimmy was still just a man. No man can endure being looked down on by his partner while also dealing with the pressures of life. If there's no shared joy or mutual support, few are willing to sustain such a relationship. Although Lucy Lane had initiated their breakup, Jimmy's quick agreement made sense.

Lucy had come to National City hoping to rekindle something, but those hopes were dashed before they even began.

The phone rang again. It was Lucy Lane.

"Did you get it?" she asked, her voice tense.

"I did. You're even more stunning than I imagined," Su Sheng replied with a light chuckle.

"Does that mean... you agree?" Lucy asked eagerly.

"Tell me your current location," Su Sheng instructed.

Lucy quickly gave her address.

"Stay put," Su Sheng said before hanging up the phone. He turned to Jesse, who was nearby. "Didn't you feel sorry for her? Then you can bring her over."

"Me?" Jesse froze for a moment but quickly understood.

After getting the address, Jesse put on her uniform, injected herself with the speed serum, and disappeared from the apartment in a flash of yellow lightning.

Moments later, Jesse returned to the apartment, bringing a bewildered Lucy Lane with her.

"This... Where am I?" Lucy Lane stared in disbelief at Su Sheng and the unfamiliar apartment. She then looked at Jesse, who was still in uniform, and gasped. "This is... National City? Who are you?"

Lucy was astonished. To be transported from Metropolis to National City in the blink of an eye... This speed was even faster than Superman!

"Don't mind her. She's just my pillow," Su Sheng chuckled, getting up and walking toward the bedroom. "Follow me."

Lucy Lane followed him silently.

The door closed behind them.

Su Sheng sat on the bed, looking at Lucy Lane, whose eyes were red from tears. She was nervous at first, but as a resolute lawyer and soldier, she quickly steeled herself. After taking a few deep breaths, Lucy watched as Su Sheng began to undress.

Piece by piece, his clothes fell to the floor.

"Save my father!" Lucy Lane demanded, her voice firm.

Su Sheng raised his wrist, activating Gideon. "Gideon, tap into the Kryptonian communication channels. When you find Astra, tell her that Sam Lane is dead, and everyone in Rhodes will pay the price."

Gideon responded and began searching.

"Are you satisfied?" Su Sheng asked, looking at the stunned Lucy Lane.

Lucy nodded subconsciously. With Su Sheng's words, she felt her father's safety was now assured.

"Then, I hope you can satisfy me too," Su Sheng said with a sly grin, beckoning her closer. Lucy Lane slowly walked toward him.

Outside the door, Jesse had taken off her uniform, her eyes occasionally drifting toward the bedroom. An inexplicable feeling of discomfort gnawed at her, intensifying with every sound she heard from inside. It felt as if something that belonged to her had been taken away.

Finally, the sounds from the bedroom ceased.

Su Sheng rolled over and lay down, glancing at the trembling Lucy Lane beside him.

"Gideon, any updates?" Su Sheng asked, activating his bracelet.

"The message has been sent, but there's been no response," Gideon replied.

"Send another one. Tell them to deliver the person to the DEO within half an hour, or else she can look for another planet," Su Sheng ordered lazily.

Gideon quickly sent the message.

"Thank you," Lucy Lane said weakly, struggling to sit up.

Su Sheng chuckled at her gratitude. "No need to thank me. You fulfilled your part, so I'll fulfill mine. It's fair. Take a rest, and then head to the DEO. If I need you, I'll find you."

Lucy Lane nodded silently.

After resting for a while, Lucy got up, showered, and then hurried to the DEO. Su Sheng eventually emerged from the bedroom, took a shower, and joined Jesse in the living room to chat about dinner plans.

At the DEO,

When Lucy Lane arrived, the Martian Manhunter and Alex were still frantically searching for Sam Lane.

"Lucy, I'm... I'm so sorry," the Martian Manhunter said sympathetically, as Alex nodded in agreement.

Lucy Lane shook her head, suppressing her emotions.

"Lucy, did you... contact him using the 997 number?" Alex asked hesitantly, pulling Lucy aside.

Lucy nodded. "Astra should be sending my father back soon. Thank you for giving me his contact information."

"He found Astra? He agreed to help you that easily?" Alex asked in surprise.

Lucy Lane remained silent, her expression unreadable.

Alex understood. Whatever Lucy had to do, it was clearly something she wasn't willing to discuss.

Boom!

A loud crash echoed from the front of the DEO, as if something had just landed. Lucy Lane sprinted toward the door, followed closely by the others. When they reached the entrance, they saw Sam Lane standing there, looking bewildered.

"Father!" Lucy Lane cried, rushing to embrace him.

"General Lane, are you okay?" Alex and the Martian Manhunter asked, concerned.

Sam Lane shook his head, still in a daze. "What's going on? What are you all doing? Where is Supergirl? Hasn't the Red Tornado test started yet?"

"..."

"Father, you..." Lucy Lane started to say but was at a loss for words.

"Don't you remember? The Red Tornado test is over. You were captured by the Kryptonians," Alex said, her voice gentle but firm.
