Left with no other choice, Caitlin Snow immersed herself in the research.
As an expert in biology, Caitlin already had a strong foundation. Her experience working with Team Flash had given her a deeper understanding of speed and the Speed Force than most. Although the task was daunting, Gideon's advanced calculation capabilities provided immense support, enabling her to verify the results of each attempt and make corrections swiftly.
While Caitlin focused on the formula, Su Sheng didn't rest either. He was attempting to disrupt the continuity of time to create a time loop effect. Barry Allen had nearly succeeded, but Su Sheng's intervention had caused a crucial step to fail. Despite this, Barry's efforts provided valuable insights. Su Sheng's attempts to simulate this process were time-consuming, requiring repeated trials. During this period, he also helped Caitlin Snow by setting up a device to extract Speed Force energy, providing her with the energy needed for her experiments.
Unbeknownst to them, the night slipped away.
"Hey, I... I need to go back," Caitlin said hesitantly, exhaustion evident in her voice. "There are still some issues to resolve, but if you give me more time, I can do it. Can I come over at night to continue helping you?"
"Are you sleepy?" Su Sheng asked, smiling slightly.
Caitlin Snow nodded.
"Then go to sleep for a while and continue when you wake up." Su Sheng's words had an almost hypnotic effect. Caitlin realized too late that she was being controlled again as her body involuntarily followed him to a room on the Disciple.
Inside the room, Caitlin Snow found herself taking off her pajamas and lying on the bed once more. As soon as she settled in, an overwhelming drowsiness washed over her, pulling her into a deep sleep. Su Sheng lay down beside her, wrapping his arms around her as they both drifted off.
In a groggy state, Su Sheng gradually became aware of a chill in his arms.
Very cold—like he was holding a block of ice.
He slowly opened his eyes to find Caitlin Snow exuding waves of cold air. The room's temperature was dropping rapidly, and Caitlin's body trembled slightly, as if caught in a nightmare she couldn't escape. Her eyelids fluttered, but she couldn't open them.
The temperature continued to plummet.
"Is Killer Frost about to awaken?" Su Sheng thought, his interest piqued.
In the original timeline, Caitlin Snow of Earth-1 also became Killer Frost. Initially, it was believed that her transformation was caused by the particle accelerator explosion or the Flashpoint event. However, it turned out that Caitlin had a second personality, akin to Killer Frost, since childhood. This memory had been blocked, preventing the Killer Frost persona from resurfacing for a long time.
"Could it be that my mind control triggered Killer Frost's awakening? I had planned to awaken her as a punishment, but it seems she's waking up on her own. Let me give her a little push!" Su Sheng thought, activating his shockwave ability to sense Caitlin Snow.
This was the first time Su Sheng had used his shockwave ability to sense someone else. He felt himself entering a strange environment almost instantly.
The surroundings were dark and dreamlike.
He found himself on a street where a car accident had occurred. A car lay overturned in the middle of the road, and a little girl sat on the ground, staring at a broken side mirror.
Her hair was snow-white, and her entire body emitted a cold aura. Her pupils seemed to be gradually turning white.
"Caitlin, don't do this!" a man and woman nearby shouted frantically.
Caitlin turned to look at them.
The sensation stopped abruptly.
Su Sheng snapped back to reality.
At the same moment, Caitlin Snow in his arms began to transform due to Su Sheng's influence. Her long hair turned white from the roots, her eye shadow deepened, and her lips turned a purplish-blue hue, resembling Earth-2's Killer Frost exactly.
Caitlin Snow's eyes suddenly flew open, her white pupils giving her an ominous and seductive look.
Swish!
Caitlin—no, it was Killer Frost now—lashed out at Su Sheng, her cold palm striking toward him. The chill in the air was intense enough to freeze the entire room. Su Sheng smirked, catching her wrist and effortlessly tossing her aside.
Boom!
Killer Frost crashed against the door, sliding down to the floor.
Provoked, Killer Frost got up, forming ice spikes in her hands and hurling them at Su Sheng.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Sharp ice spikes flew toward him, but Su Sheng raised his palm calmly.
The ice spikes melted the moment they neared him, evaporating into nothingness. Su Sheng then caught an ice spike mid-air, instantly controlling its temperature and throwing it back at her.
"Child's play. Do you think I can't do the same?" Su Sheng mocked, controlling the ice thorn's temperature to melt it.
"Can you do this?" Su Sheng chuckled, and suddenly, a red light flickered on the crystal-clear ice thorn.
Killer Frost froze for a moment before the ice thorn exploded.
Boom!
The massive impact sent her crashing into the door again, leaving several deep, gaping wounds on her exposed body. Killer Frost groaned, looking down at her injuries, only to see that they were already emitting a chill and beginning to heal rapidly.
Within moments, the wounds had completely closed.
"Hmph, I'll... I'll deal with you later," Killer Frost muttered coldly as the eye shadow and lip color returned to normal. Her white hair quickly reverted to its original shade, and the white pupils faded as her eyes refocused.
She looked around, confused and disoriented. "What happened? My back hurts... Did you throw me down?"
"Who told you to sleep so restlessly?" Su Sheng chuckled, helping her back onto the bed.
"Was I restless in my sleep?" Caitlin Snow mumbled, still dazed in Su Sheng's arms. She had no recollection of what had just transpired. Turning to face Su Sheng, she asked, "You're not going to throw me out of bed again, are you?"
"Go to sleep," Su Sheng whispered.
Caitlin Snow grumbled but found herself unable to sleep, partly because she was worried she might be thrown out of bed again.
