Chapter 131 - Chapter 130: Doppelgänger: Echoes and the Storm of Death

"I came to this world for many reasons, one of which is to acquire nanoscale technology," Su Sheng said with a chuckle.

"I'll help you!" Harrison Wells responded without hesitation. "Just save my daughter Jesse."

"Then write down the equation, and I'll take a quick look around," Su Sheng said, disappearing in a flash as soon as he finished speaking.

Earth II is a world that mirrors Earth in many ways but with stark differences. Here, good people become bad, and bad people become good. Small details lead to drastically different futures. On this Earth, Captain Cold is the mayor of Central City, Iris West is a police officer, and Joe West is a singer. The notorious Deadshot here can't hit a target even if it's right in front of him, Caitlin Snow is Killer Frost, Firestorm has become Deathstorm, and Cisco Ramon is known as Echo. Although Harrison Wells of Earth II also studied particle accelerators and created a group of metahumans, their fates and choices differ entirely from those on Earth I.

Overall, it's a fascinating and fresh world.

Even though Su Sheng hadn't originally planned to visit Earth II at this time, now that he was here, he wasn't about to leave without exploring.

On Earth II, the sky has a warm hue, possibly to distinguish it from Earth I or for other reasons. This gives the entire place a slightly surreal, dreamlike quality. Although many faces are the same, the people themselves are entirely different. In the original storyline, when Barry Allen traveled to Earth II, he found himself still working as a forensic scientist at the Central City Police Department. However, this version of Barry was timid and selfish, still married to Iris, who became a police officer for his sake. Things got messy when Barry delayed saving Jesse, resulting in the death of Joe West in this world. His actions and emotions nearly jeopardized his mission, causing more harm than good.

In the end, although Jesse was saved and returned to Earth I, Barry's meddling in Earth II's affairs had profound consequences. His Madonna complex not only endangered Jesse but almost cost him his life as Zoom captured him. If it weren't for Cisco and the others convincing Killer Frost to switch sides, Barry might never have made it back. Despite his good intentions, Barry's actions created waves that rippled through Earth II.

As yellow lightning streaked through Central City, Su Sheng, while running, suddenly sensed hostility.

Someone was attacking him—and using Firestorm's powers!

Deathstorm!

Su Sheng stopped abruptly as a massive explosion rocked the road ahead, engulfing it in flames. The man, clad in a black leather jacket and engulfed in fire, descended slowly from the sky. After landing, he extinguished the flames, revealing himself as Deathstorm, the doppelgänger of Firestorm.

Unlike Firestorm on Earth I, where Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein co-exist, in Deathstorm, Martin Stein no longer exists. The body is entirely controlled by Ronnie Raymond.

"You're not The Flash? A new speedster? Zoom will be pleased!" Deathstorm sneered coldly, his tone dripping with arrogance.

"I didn't expect to meet you first. Your powers… they're useless," Su Sheng muttered with a pout. "Where's Echo?"

"Looking for me?" A familiar voice answered, but the tone was different—darker, more sinister. Su Sheng turned to see Cisco Ramon, or rather, his doppelgänger, Echo, emerging from the shadows. He wore a leather jacket, his hair styled in a small braid, and a pair of goggles perched on his head.

In both worlds, the particle accelerator explosion turned Cisco into a metahuman. However, while Earth I's Cisco hadn't fully awakened as Vibe, Earth II's Cisco had mastered his powers and become Echo. Killer Frost and Deathstorm worked under him, all serving Zoom's cause.

Echo's powers, when fully realized, are formidable. Initially, he could sense past and future events through objects and emit powerful shockwaves. Later, he developed the ability to use these shockwaves for teleportation and even travel between different universes. Echo's abilities could be more challenging to control than even the Speed Force itself.

In the original storyline, when The Flash encountered Echo and Deathstorm, they nearly killed him, prompting Zoom's wrath. Zoom killed them both with two high-speed strikes, but had they lived, Echo's ability to traverse universes could have become a significant threat.

"One person's missing?" Su Sheng noted. He had seen Deathstorm and Echo, but where was Killer Frost?

"You seem to know a lot about us. I'm curious about your identity," Echo said, studying Su Sheng with an intrigued smile. "You're not The Flash, and there shouldn't be any other speedsters in Central City. I can sense you're different—an outsider, a speedster from another world!"

"Interesting. We haven't figured out how to travel to other worlds yet, and here you are. Tell me… how did you do it?"

"But I don't want to tell you," Su Sheng replied, grinning.

Echo chuckled darkly. "Here, in my world, the rules of the game are simple. Tell me what I want to know, and you live. If not, you die."

"What's the point in talking? Let me take him on first," Deathstorm interrupted impatiently, flames erupting from his hands as he advanced toward Su Sheng.

Boom!

Before he could take more than two steps, Echo turned and blasted him with a shockwave, sending him flying. Echo glared coldly at Deathstorm. "If you don't want me to shatter you, stay by my side."

Deathstorm got up without protest, the flickering fear in his eyes unmistakable.

"Cool!" Su Sheng couldn't help but give a thumbs up, impressed by this ruthless version of Cisco Ramon.
