Su Sheng couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Green Arrow and Black Arrow instinctively separate from each other. "Should have called Batman too, so that the three members of the League of Assassins would be here," he mused, amused by the situation.
The key figures—Black Arrow, Green Arrow, and Batman—all had ties to the League of Assassins. Ra's al Ghul, the League's leader, was an ancient being who had used the Lazarus Pit to prolong his life for centuries. He had a habit of seeking successors from outside his family. First, he tried to recruit Batman, but Batman wasn't interested. Then he turned to Green Arrow, who also resisted, though he dabbled with the idea for a while before pulling away. Black Arrow, on the other hand, desperately wanted the position, but Ra's never favored him.
"I might be a little interested if Ra's al Ghul came in person. But you two? Bullying you both would be no fun," Su Sheng said, rising to his feet. Red lightning crackled in the restaurant, and in an instant, Su Sheng had Thea Queen in his arms, ready to leave.
"Let Thea go!" Malcolm Merlyn, the Black Arrow, shouted, his anger flaring at Su Sheng's audacity. The fact that this man was now holding his daughter, whom he had only recently discovered, was infuriating.
Without hesitation, Malcolm nocked an arrow, and the surrounding assassins surged forward.
But before they could reach him, a series of explosions tore through the air. One by one, the assassins who approached Su Sheng were blown apart, their bodies hitting the ground with a sickening thud.
As Su Sheng approached the door, he paused and glanced back.
Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, quickly dropped his bow, learning from the lesson. But Malcolm, stubborn as ever, refused to lower his weapon.
Su Sheng laughed softly, then snapped his fingers.
Malcolm's arrow suddenly glowed, and just as he was about to release it, it exploded in his hand, sending him crashing to the floor, injured.
"Let's go," Su Sheng said, holding Thea close as they disappeared in a flash of red lightning.
Back at the hotel, Thea Queen was about to ask what had just happened when a crossbow bolt suddenly flew toward Su Sheng. Her eyes widened in horror.
"Be careful, dodge!" she screamed, instinctively pushing Su Sheng aside.
Su Sheng, however, was already aware of the attack. Thanks to his ability to perceive threats, he turned swiftly, pulling Thea with him while catching the bolt with his free hand.
Snapping the bolt in half, he looked toward the source—a woman in a purple uniform, wearing a blindfold, and holding a crossbow.
"How did you find me here?" Su Sheng asked, amused.
The woman, Helena Bertinelli, the Huntress, didn't respond. Instead, she fired more bolts at Su Sheng, her face set in cold determination.
But Su Sheng's hand moved like a blur, catching each bolt effortlessly. After a few moments, he let the bolts drop to the floor, his expression still calm.
"You should know you can't kill me like this, Helena..." he said with a chuckle.
Helena sneered, discarding her crossbow. She pulled out a short stick from her waist, which extended into a staff, and charged at Su Sheng.
Red lightning flashed again, and the next moment, Helena found herself tied to a chair, her weapons and uniform neatly set aside.
"Are you the Huntress? Helena Bertinelli?" Thea asked, shocked. "The Huntress is a legend in Starling City. I've heard so much about you. I never imagined you were Frank Bertinelli's daughter!"
The Huntress, still naked and visibly angry, glared at Su Sheng. "I can understand why you hate me and want to kill me. After all, I ruined your plans. But don't forget we had a good time together. You were the one who betrayed me first. I promised to make you experience despair after giving you hope, and I'm just keeping my word!" Su Sheng said, sitting casually at the edge of the bed. "And you know what? I still remember those unforgettable memories you brought me."
"I will kill you!" Helena spat, her voice icy.
"How about a deal?" Su Sheng proposed, unfazed by her threat. "I just found something for Black Canary to do, and there will be more happening in Starling City. This could be your chance to do what you want."
Helena hesitated for a moment before asking, "What if I refuse?"
"Then I'll take Frank away so you can never find him," Su Sheng replied with a smile. "All you have to do is let me take a few photos. How about it?"
Helena glared at him but eventually nodded. "Let me go."
Su Sheng nodded at Thea, who, after a brief hesitation, used a knife from Helena's equipment to cut her free. Helena stood, her eyes full of fury. "You better watch out. He's very skilled at manipulating women, using any method necessary. Everyone who knows him eventually gives in to his games."
"Does that include you?" Su Sheng teased.
"I'm talking about the Birds of Prey," Helena snapped.
"The Birds of Prey? Even them..." Thea Queen looked at Su Sheng in amazement. "You're even stronger than my brother!"
"So-so," Su Sheng replied modestly, using his speed to set up for the photos quickly.
Helena sneered at Thea before moving to the corner to pose for the photos as Su Sheng instructed. After the session, she began to dress, ready to leave.
But Su Sheng stepped in front of her.
"I know what you've been through these past few years," he said softly.
"What do you want to say?" Helena asked, her tone still cold.
Instead of answering, Su Sheng leaned in and kissed her.
