Humiliation? Anger?
Laura felt a deep sense of powerlessness. Since the moment she put on her uniform and aspired to be a hero, she had never felt so powerless, nor had she ever imagined she would endure such an experience. Tears flowed uncontrollably as she lay there, unable to resist the monster behind her.
After what felt like an eternity, the numb Laura realized the demon had finally left.
She slowly slumped down to the floor, her gaze empty as Su Sheng moved a chair in front of her.
"It hurts, doesn't it? Your mother went through the same thing. But you're luckier than she was. Do you know why? It seems justified for me to do this because you see me as a villain, but back then, the person who did this to your mother was a so-called hero—a teammate, even."
"She was more miserable and desperate than you are. Don't you want revenge?"
"Who was it?"
Laura suddenly lifted her head.
"The Comedian. Or you might know him as the Comedian," Su Sheng chuckled.
"It's him!" After experiencing it herself, Laura could better understand her mother's pain and anger.
"Believe me, that's not all," Su Sheng said, delivering another shocking piece of news. "Do you know who your biological father is? That's right, it's him!"
"This is impossible!"
Laura exclaimed in disbelief.
"From the timeline, it doesn't seem likely, but that's how it is. Your mother got involved with him after that incident. Superhero? Heh..." Su Sheng stood up and walked out.
Boom!
The door closed slowly, and Laura collapsed on the ground, overcome with despair.
When Su Sheng returned to the villa, he paid no further attention to Laura, picking up his book and resuming his studies. He had switched his focus from biology to electronic engineering. Immersed in his studies, Su Sheng didn't realize how late it had gotten. Finally, he stepped out of the room, noticing that Valentina and Riley hadn't returned yet.
As he reached the door, he saw a woman in a Soviet military uniform leaving. Su Sheng called out to her casually. "Could you ask when they'll be back?"
The woman hesitated briefly before heading towards the phone in the living room.
Step by step.
As she passed by Su Sheng, she seemed to trip over the carpet, perhaps due to nerves, and fell towards him.
Boom!
The soldier fell to the ground, looking up in disbelief at Su Sheng, who had stepped back.
Shouldn't he have caught me? she thought, surprised.
Seeing her expression, Su Sheng smiled slightly. "Are you okay?"
"No, I'm fine."
"Why don't you get up and make the call?"
"..."
The soldier lowered her head and slowly got up. But as soon as she stood, her left arm suddenly transformed into rock, and she swung it at Su Sheng.
Her fist got closer.
But just as the rocky fist was about to connect, the soldier was horrified to see Su Sheng's face change.
His skin instantly turned into rock, identical to the transformation in her left arm.
Boom!
As she stood there, stunned, her fist struck Su Sheng's rock-like face, creating a loud impact.
Two solid rocks collided.
Su Sheng didn't move, but the soldier was pushed back a few steps.
"Nice ability." Su Sheng returned his face to normal, looking at his hands with interest. "If you'd shown up earlier, Laura might have had it worse."
"You... how did you...?" The soldier was shocked and instinctively transformed her body further. She grew taller, her height exceeding two meters as her hat fell off, revealing long purple hair. Her left side turned to rock, while the right side glowed with a golden magma-like substance. Her lower body and right leg remained slightly purple, seemingly normal, but the left side resembled a dead tree trunk.
She looked like a patchwork of different materials.
"You can change color, control density, and manipulate elements and body size. I see, you can also generate heat and control ice and water. You have quite the range of abilities," Su Sheng observed with great interest. "I didn't expect to gain new powers so suddenly. You're not from the Watchmen, so you must be with the CIA? Are you here for Laura, the Silk Spectre? Do they even know you have these powers?"
"How can you have my ability?" The soldier looked at Su Sheng in shock. Could he steal abilities? No, no, he must have copied it. But how did he master it so quickly?
"Don't ask why. I just know how to use it. Do I need to explain more?" Su Sheng shook his head and chuckled. "But what about you? What's your name?"
"Hmph!"
"Even if you copied my abilities, you're still no match for me!" The soldier recovered quickly from her shock. It had taken her a long time to master her powers. It was impossible for him to copy them and be so proficient right away. She was confident she could win.
The soldier rushed at Su Sheng again.
"It seems we can't have a pleasant conversation," Su Sheng said as he moved.
Unlimited stacking, five times!
He didn't bother with as many tricks as she did, simply transforming his entire body into rock.
The floor suddenly collapsed as Su Sheng charged forward, throwing a punch!
Fist met fist!
Boom!
With a loud bang, the soldier's body flew through the wall and landed in the yard. As she struggled to get up, she was shocked to find Su Sheng already standing over her.
"Going up against me is the worst decision you've ever made. My specialty is crushing you with your own powers!" Su Sheng smiled brightly as his rocky fist slammed down.
Boom!
A grunt escaped her lips.
Su Sheng raised his fist to see the soldier unconscious, her body gradually returning to normal.
"What happened?"
Panicked guards rushed over, demanding answers.
"Find out when Valentina and Riley will be back," Su Sheng replied casually, dragging the unconscious soldier back to the basement.
Squeak!
The basement door creaked open, and Laura, sitting on the ground, looked up in panic, seeing Su Sheng entering with a female soldier in tow.
