"The... candidate for the new pillow?"
Diana pulled her hand free from Su Sheng's grasp and was stunned for a moment before reacting.
"Some people's bad habits," Sara Lance, the White Canary, said as she slowly stood up, looking at Diana with a mocking tone. "Don't you get it? It's like using a woman as a pillow, maybe not even doing anything—just being scum!"
"That's still better than someone who can only grind tofu," Su Sheng replied casually, not even bothering to ask how she knew about his peculiar habit. He turned around and tapped on the console.
After a while, data from a specific point in time appeared on the screen.
"1871? Redemption Town, Dakota? What's there?" Sara Lance asked suspiciously, looking at the information Su Sheng had pulled up.
"The candidate for the new pillow. Too bad I forgot her name, so I'll have to find her the slow way," Su Sheng muttered and then glanced at Rip Hunter, who reluctantly instructed Gideon to prepare for time travel.
The Waverider jumped through time once again.
This time, Su Sheng felt no discomfort. Diana seemed a bit tense but looked fine—after all, she was a demigod.
Outside Redemption, 1871
The Waverider landed and entered stealth mode. Su Sheng smiled and said, "The tofu grinder is coming with me. The rest of you are free to do as you please."
Rip Hunter quickly asked, "What the hell are you doing here? And how long are we staying?"
"Looking for a new pillow. We'll leave as soon as I find her." Su Sheng replied with a grin, hooking Sara Lance's arm as he stepped off the Waverider.
Diana frowned but followed closely behind.
Once they were off the Waverider, Sara Lance shook off Su Sheng's hand and asked in irritation, "Why did you bring me along?"
"Hostage," Su Sheng replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "What if they decide to take off in the Waverider?"
"I meant why me?" Sara Lance asked angrily.
"Because you have big breasts!" Su Sheng glanced down. While Sara Lance might not be as delicate and beautiful as her sister, her chest was certainly impressive. "If I can't find a new pillow, you can be the replacement."
"Don't you already have Wonder Woman?" Sara Lance glanced at Diana, who was following them.
"Can I hold her while I sleep?" Su Sheng asked rhetorically.
"What do you mean?" Sara Lance was taken aback. "You can't sleep with her, but you can sleep with me? Are you saying I'm ugly?"
"You know, your face is perfect—if you cover two places," Su Sheng said seriously.
"Perfect for covering two places?" Sara Lance asked curiously. "Which two places?"
"The left half of your face and the right half of your face."
"..."
Sara Lance took a deep breath, barely resisting the urge to punch him. He might as well have just told her to cover her entire face!
Redemption Town wasn't large—it was rather desolate and backward.
There were rows of wooden buildings with horses tied up outside. The locals, dressed like typical Western cowboys, eyed the three newcomers with suspicion and amazement. Su Sheng didn't stand out too much, but Sara Lance, in her White Canary uniform, and Diana, in her Wonder Woman armor, definitely attracted attention. While their attire wasn't overly revealing by the standards of the time, it was certainly unusual.
"Hey, excuse me," Su Sheng called out to a man on the side of the road, who hesitantly and cautiously approached. "Don't be nervous. I just want to ask, do you know where the brothel is?"
The brothel?
Sara Lance stared at Su Sheng, her eyes wide with shock.
The man was equally stunned, probably not expecting Su Sheng to be looking for a brothel while accompanied by two such beautiful women. He glanced enviously at Diana and Sara Lance before pointing to a small, two-story building in the distance. "It's over there, but… you won't find anyone more beautiful than the two you already have with you."
"There are always surprises in life." Su Sheng smiled and walked straight toward the building.
He opened the door to find a hall where several men and women were drinking. As soon as the door swung open, everyone turned to look at the newcomers. When they saw Su Sheng with Sara Lance and Diana—two striking women, especially Diana—the entire room was stunned.
"Who's in charge here?" Su Sheng asked loudly, scanning the room.
A woman who looked like the madam of the establishment approached, and Su Sheng smiled brightly. "Call out all the girls. I want to make my choice."
The madam eyed Su Sheng suspiciously but nodded hesitantly.
After a moment, there was a flurry of activity as all the girls were rounded up.
"It's not professional at all—stand up straight, and form a line," Su Sheng commanded after seeing the girls standing around loosely. "Is this everyone?"
"Yes, this is everyone."
Su Sheng nodded and waited for the girls to line up before carefully examining each one.
"No, not her… not her either… nope, not her."
He went down the line, waving each girl off after scrutinizing them. When he reached the last one, he turned to the madam. "Are you sure there's no one else?"
"What? You didn't like any of these?" The madam hesitated. "There's one more, but she just arrived, and…"
"Money isn't an issue!" Su Sheng interrupted. "Bring her out so I can see her."
"Alright."
The madam left and soon returned with a woman who was clearly unprepared and hadn't yet cleaned up.
Su Sheng's eyes lit up.
"It's her!"
The madam seemed surprised that the picky guest was suddenly so decisive, but she nodded and pushed the woman toward Su Sheng. "She's yours now."
"Thank you." Su Sheng smiled, taking the woman by the shoulder and heading toward the exit.
"Wait, the rooms are upstairs," the madam called after them. "And you said money wasn't an issue, so it's better to pay first."
"Yeah, money isn't a problem," Su Sheng nodded and smiled brightly at the madam. "The problem is I don't have any."
"What? You don't have money?"
The madam was stunned. Money isn't the problem, the problem is lack of money?
"You're playing me? Do you know where you are?"
As soon as the madam finished shouting, several large men appeared from the sides, rushing at Su Sheng.
Su Sheng didn't move but simply glanced at Sara Lance, who responded with a resigned smile.
Bang, bang, bang!
With the skills she'd honed in the League of Assassins, Sara Lance made quick work of the men, easily knocking them out under the horrified gazes of everyone in the room.
