"Farewell, Devil," Cao Cao said, his voice cold and indifferent as he thrust the True Longinus forward.

Then, his expression changed.

A crack appeared on the tip of the True Longinus. Two slender fingers emerged from the rift, gripping the spear's tip, stopping its advance.

"Horse Treasure!" Cao Cao shouted, instantly teleporting thirty meters away. He leveled the True Longinus, his eyes narrowed as he stared at the fingers emerging from the spatial rift.

Cao Cao knew the power of the True Longinus, the most powerful Longinus, the first and original God-slaying spear.

Even though he hadn't used its full power, his earlier attack was strong enough to obliterate a small town. And yet… it had been stopped by two fingers.

"Is this… the reincarnation of Baal?" Cao Cao knew of Haru's existence.

He'd taken note of the Devil King when the Old Maou Faction's leaders were annihilated, though he'd only been impressed by Haru's resilience.

The original Baal, according to records, was only Maou-level. Even reincarnated, even wielding the Boosted Gear, he shouldn't be much of a threat—a typical Transcendent, at best.

Only the top ten strongest Transcendents in the world were worthy of Cao Cao's full attention.

But the situation before him spoke volumes.

This… individual was powerful, very powerful—perhaps even among the top ten.

After all, stopping the True Longinus with two fingers… only one person Cao Cao knew could achieve such a feat—Indra, the Heavenly Emperor of the Hindu pantheon, one of the top ten strongest beings in the world, and Cao Cao's mentor in martial arts.

The spatial rift widened, and Haru, holding Ophis, stepped through.

He looked around at the battered and bruised Devils, a smirk playing on his lips. "I leave for a little while, and you all get yourselves beaten up. How pathetic."

"It's your fault for taking Ophis-sama, nya~," Kuroka retorted, glaring at Haru.

"Actually, Kuroka, I believe you're the one to blame," Akeno said, her usual cheerful demeanor returning now that Haru was present.

Rias sighed in relief. She had been terrified—on the verge of tears. The True Longinus, having pierced Jesus Christ, was imbued with his holy power.

Light-based powers were dangerous to Devils, and the concentrated big holy energy… had she been struck, she would have been gravely wounded, perhaps even fatally.

The thought sent shivers down her spine. Her face hardened.

"Haru, beat him up."

"Sure. Asia, heal the injured. I'll be back in a bit," Haru said, gently placing Ophis on the ground before turning to Asia, who was still staring at the True Longinus with wide, fearful eyes.

"O-okay…" Asia, startled, quickly nodded and began tending to the wounded.

Haru stretched his neck, his joints cracking. He looked at Cao Cao, who now held the True Longinus at the ready, a challenging glint in his eyes.

"Let's go, kid."

Haru vanished.

Cao Cao's eyes widened as he saw a massive hand descending towards him, growing larger and larger until it filled his vision.

Then, everything went black.

Two kilometers away from the Gremory mansion, on a nameless mountain, Haru, his hand still clamped over Cao Cao's face, skidded to a halt.

Cao Cao, released from Haru's grip, flew towards the mountainside. Just as he was about to crash, he shouted,

"Horse Treasure!"

One of the orbs surrounding him glowed, and he reappeared, unharmed, standing on the mountainside, his eyes fixed on Haru.

"You're strong enough for me to take seriously now," he said, his voice grim.

Cao Cao was confident. Against a Devil, the True Longinus was a powerful weapon. Even a Super Devil couldn't withstand its holy power.

Haru chuckled. "Such confidence. I'll have to… crush it." He took a step forward.

Cao Cao's expression hardened. He swung the True Longinus, the halo and its seven orbs flaring with light.

But in that instant, a wave of intense danger washed over him.

His pupils constricted. Without hesitation, he summoned one of the orbs.

"Elephant Treasure!"

He shot into the sky.

The Elephant Treasure granted him the power of flight—simple, yet effective.

As Cao Cao ascended, Haru vanished, reappearing where Cao Cao had been standing moments earlier.

BOOM!

Haru's foot tapped the ground, the force of the impact shattering the earth, creating a crater hundreds of meters wide.

The shockwave rippled outwards, sending trees and boulders flying like leaves in a hurricane.

Cao Cao, hovering in the sky, looked down at the crater, his face pale. "No demonic energy… no spiritual power… no Senjutsu… a purely physical attack? What is he—a Titan? Or a Devil?"

A sudden surge of terror gripped his heart.

From the depths of the crater, Haru flicked his finger. The air cracked, sending out an invisible shockwave.

"Pearl Treasure!" Cao Cao shouted, an orb appearing before him, distorting space into a swirling vortex.

The shockwave reached the vortex, which rapidly absorbed the energy.

The Pearl Treasure allowed him to absorb and redirect attacks. He could either send them elsewhere or reflect them back at their source.

Facing such a powerful attack, Cao Cao naturally chose to deflect it.

The shockwave, now amplified, erupted from the vortex, hurtling towards the earth.

Then, Cao Cao's heart lurched. A sense of overwhelming dread washed over him, and he turned his head—

A rough hand, growing larger and larger, filled his vision.
