Chapter 19 - Chapter 20 (preliminary stage)

Every competitor had already assembled

the next day in the arena.

Six platforms set in stages allowed the

arena to host several events

concurrently.

As the instructor-in-charge took the

platform, three thousand applicants

watched.

He welcomed everyone, identified

himself as Tobi, the in charge instructor,

and went over the competition

regulations.

"Three thousand candidates will be split

into six groups, 500 candidates on every

platform.

Depending on their registration number,

your opponent will be set in odd

numbers against even numbers.

Your opponent has to either leave the

stage or concede loss if you want to

prevail in the contest.

No competitor is let to destroy or kill their

opponent.

Instructor Tobi clarified: "Only 100

contestants can move on to the next

stage." The fight started.

At the 7th stage of the Qi Gathering

Realm, Adeleke faced a martial artist first

opponent.

Thanks to his own body and late father's

lessons, Adeleke won the match.

Over the course of the next four days,

100 applicants were chosen; Adeleke

came in 98th.

The King of Abayomi called them to be

rewarded.

Every contender waited for the monarch

in his palace.

As he came in, they all bowed to greet

him.

"Long life Your Majesty," the contenders

yelled.

"Be at ease," the king replied as he sank

into his throne. "Thank you, Your

Majesty," the applicants said.

"I have called you here today to reward

you all before you leave for the Ore-ofe

Kingdom," King Abejide remarked,

continuing, "you will cultivate in the

Abayomi Mountain for the next two days

before your departure.

I will award each of you with some

cultivating pills.

King Abejide closed with "I hope you

bring honor to our state."

Every competitor lowered to pay thanks

to their king.

"Thanks for your great grace," the

contenders said.

Every competitor was sent to farm on

the mountain as King Abejide left the

palace.

Among those qualified, Abiodun and

Oguntola hurried to Adeleke, all cheerful.

Their places on the mountain were set.

Each entered to be cultivated for two

days.

Adeleke advanced three levels and

arrived at the ninth level of the Qi

Gathering Realm; Oguntola and Abiodun

broke through from the eighth level of

the Qi Gathering Realm to the second

level of the Foundation Establishment

Realm.

Adeleke reported his triumph to his sister

in a letter.

Arriving to pick them up and forward

them to the Ore-ofe Kingdom was an

emissary from that Kingdom.
