Liu Chen drove back to the apartment, dropped off Qin Lu, and then drove out to buy some supper.
Half an hour later, when Liu Chen drove back to the apartment again, he noticed something was off—the light in the second-floor study was not on.
Qin Lu was busy coming back to check documents, and by all accounts, the study should have been lit. Liu Chen got out of the car, carefully holding the supper as he unlocked and entered the house.
A strange scent hit his nostrils, startling him—it was a potent knockout drug! Just as this thought crossed his mind, suddenly, a figure flashed out of the darkness, clasping a bottle of the drug and spraying it at him.
Fortunately, he had anticipated an attack and had already held his breath. Liu Chen turned around, grabbed his clothing to cover his nose, and used the Breath Holding Technique. Only then did he focus on the assailant.
