On the eve of the martial arts tournament, each sect would host its own selection competition, and Mount Jiuhua was no exception.
This year's competition was particularly grand, with the number of participants from each sect increasing from the original three to five, which excited many eager candidates.
On this day, the spring was bright and the scenery splendid. The whole of Mount Jiuhua was enveloped in a peaceful atmosphere.
The venue for the selection competition was set up outside a main peak's grand hall, a vast area the size of three or four football fields, surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on the other. Seats were set up all around the arena for various sects to observe the battles.
Above the arena, a row of seats was reserved for the elders and sect leaders of the various sects.
