The so-called Shikigami Spell is a talisman written by Onmyoji. By burning the talisman paper, one can summon the shikigami sealed within the spell.

Actually, Xuan Country also had this technique, though it was not referred to as glamorously, simply being called "Ghost Slave". The essence of both practices involved manipulating undead spirits to serve one's own purposes.
