Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Astonishing Medical Skills

"Where did this damn bastard come from, daring to curse our old Military Governor!"

A roar of anger came from the treatment room, and soon after, a man in his mid-twenties stormed out, furious.

He seemed ready to start a fight at the slightest provocation, which made the group of burly men outside hastily step aside, clearly respecting and fearing him.

However, as soon as this man appeared, Wang Xiaocao, who had been planning to take Tang Yi and leave quickly, suddenly smiled, "So it's Instructor Zhao!"

This man was none other than Zhao Dashan, who had earlier proclaimed himself as the King of Soldiers.

Zhao Dashan first looked at Wang Xiaocao, slightly taken aback, then turned to see Tang Yi standing beside her, his rage instantly dissipating like smoke.

"I am that damn bastard," Tang Yi said indifferently.

"Heh heh!" Zhao Dashan laughed awkwardly, with a respectful and almost ingratiating tone, "I'm sorry, young man. I'm a blunt person who speaks without thinking. Don't take it personally!"

Seeing Zhao Dashan's obsequious expression, the faces of the surrounding burly men were filled with disbelief, then they all turned their gazes to Tang Yi.

Who exactly was this ordinary-looking young man that even Zhao Dashan, who feared neither heaven nor earth, was so eager to please?

"Who is making a scene out here!"

Just then, another man in a military uniform strode out of the treatment room, tall and imposing, exuding an atmosphere of authority without even being angry.

"It's you, making a fuss here with your nonsense!" The middle-aged man glared at Tang Yi and said grumpily, "Get him out of here now, and if he makes more trouble, arrest him and send him to the military court!"

"No! No! No!" Zhao Dashan quickly intervened, "Commander, please hear me out!"

Saying this, Zhao Dashan leaned over and whispered something into the ear of the middle-aged man.

An expression of disbelief flashed across the middle-aged man's face. After looking at Tang Yi, he asked Zhao Dashan, "Really?"

Zhao Dashan nodded, "Absolutely true! I couldn't even handle a single move of his!"

Hearing this, the expression on the middle-aged man's face grew even more complex. After taking a deep breath, he approached Tang Yi and apologized, "Young man, I apologize for what I said just now!"

The onlookers were visibly shocked by this turn of events. Who was this young man who warranted an apology from their commander?

"Forget it!" Tang Yi dismissed it with a nonchalant wave, "Saving lives is what matters. Let me take a look at the patient first."

"Please!" The middle-aged man promptly stepped aside to let Tang Yi enter the treatment room.

The treatment room at Shanghai University Hospital wasn't very large, roughly thirty to forty square meters. On the hospital bed lay an elderly man who looked to be in his eighties or nineties, now unconscious and oblivious to the world.

Next to the bed, a distinguished elderly man in a white lab coat was attempting to resuscitate the patient. He frowned upon seeing Tang Yi and Wang Xiaocao enter unexpectedly, "Didn't I say no one should disturb us? Get out now!"

Wang Xiaocao was startled to see the man; she recognized him. His surname was Cheng, a nationally renowned Mystic Doctor. After retiring, he had been hired by Shanghai University with a high salary to serve as a professor and held a prestigious position within the university.

Before Wang Xiaocao could follow Professor Cheng's instructions to leave the treatment room, she heard Tang Yi suddenly speak up, "I guarantee, if you continue your resuscitation this way, the patient will undoubtedly die within ten minutes!"

"What nonsense are you spouting!" Professor Cheng raged, "Get out of here this instant!"

However, Tang Yi paid no heed to Professor Cheng's words and instead turned to look at the middle-aged man who had been following behind him, asking, "Does the patient often suffer from severe coughing and difficulty breathing?"

"Yes!" the middle-aged man nodded.

"Then there must be an injury to the lungs!" Tang Yi's nose twitched slightly before he calmly addressed the fuming Professor Cheng, "Since you claim to be a Mystic Doctor, you should understand the theories of Mystic Medicine. Unfortunately, you only have a superficial understanding, with limited expertise. The prescription you wrote not only won't save the patient but has instead become a death warrant..."

Upon hearing Tang Yi criticize his level of expertise, Professor Cheng naturally felt indignant and was about to retort when he heard Tang Yi accurately name each and every herb and their dosages, causing his face to change color.

Because the ingredients and dosages Tang Yi mentioned were exactly the same as the ones he had prescribed earlier for the emergency treatment of the old Military Governor, down to the last detail.

This young man had managed to identify the exact prescription he had written just by smelling the remnant scents in the air.

"You..." Professor Cheng was utterly shocked, staring at Tang Yi as if he were a monster.

Seeing Professor Cheng's expression, everyone knew that everything Tang Yi had said was the truth. It was exceedingly clear that Tang Yi's medical skills far surpassed his own.

"Young man!" Zhao Dashan said anxiously from the side, "If you're so remarkable, please take action quickly and save our old Military Governor!"

"Do you have silver needles?"

"Yes! I'll go get them!" Wang Xiaocao quickly found a box of acupuncture silver needles and handed them to Tang Yi.

Watching Tang Yi approach the sickbed, Professor Cheng no longer attempted to stop him as he had before, but instead obediently stepped aside. However, his eyes were fixed intently on the silver needles in Tang Yi's hand, clearly eager to see how Tang Yi would administer the treatment.

"Come! Help me take off the patient's shirt!"

The middle-aged man and Zhao Dashan hurried over and swiftly removed the old Military Governor's shirt.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Tang Yi pinched a silver needle and walked over to the old Military Governor, his fingers moving like the wind as he inserted needles into the proper acupoints on the body.

As the saying goes, a layman watches the fun while an expert watches the technique. People like Zhao Dashan saw only Tang Yi's rapid movements and didn't understand, but Professor Cheng, the expert, was wearing a face full of disbelief.

Just by the speed with which Tang Yi identified the acupoints and inserted the needles, he far exceeded Professor Cheng, a Mystic Doctor with decades of experience.

After all the silver needles were in place, Tang Yi quickly removed them one by one. And as soon as the last needle was pulled out, the old Military Governor, who had been in a coma, suddenly began to cough violently.

Just a few minutes later, the old Military Governor had already regained consciousness.

"Old Military Governor (Dad)!" Zhao Dashan and the middle-aged man rushed over and helped him up.

"Cough cough!" The old Military Governor coughed lightly and said with a smile, "I thought I was about to go down and reunite with my old comrades. I didn't expect to be pulled back from Ghost Gate!"

The old Military Governor looked towards Professor Cheng standing by, "Old Cheng! I owe you a lot for this time!"

"Please! Don't mention it!" Professor Cheng hastened to wave his hands, "I can't take the credit for this, we should be thanking..."

However, when he looked around, he discovered that Tang Yi had already disappeared, and Wang Xiaocao had also vanished.
