Glancing up, I see Myra standing in front of me, striking her signature posture, the one she always does when she's angry.
"I… I was just about to call you," I say, pulling out my communication stone from my pocket as if to prove my point.
Myra narrows her eyes, scrutinizing me. Then, with a sigh, she relaxes slightly.
"You couldn't even check on me first before coming to a restaurant," she says, pouting as she grabs a chair and pulls it back to sit. But before she can, Alucard stops her abruptly.
"Wait a second. Is this redneck really your girlfriend?" Alucard asks, still visibly irritated. Myra glares back at him, and the tension between them grows so thick I half expect them to start throwing punches.
"Yes, she's my girlfriend. Calm down," I say, gently removing Alucard's hand from the chair to let Myra sit.
