"Hiyyaa!" Ham roars, charging at me with a fierce battle cry. As he closes the distance, I instinctively begin to cast a spell. Unlike Alucard, I have no interest in proving myself in close combat.
I hurl a fireball at him, but Ham skillfully dodges, continuing his relentless charge.
Seeing him getting closer, I switch tactics and rush forward with my sword drawn.
CHING!
My sword clashes against one of Ham's tonfas, the force pushing his arm slightly backward. But before I can press my advantage, his other tonfa swings toward me in a quick counterattack.
By the width of a hair, I manage to lean my head back, narrowly avoiding the strike, and deliver a sharp kick to his stomach. Ham staggers backward, the impact disrupting his momentum. Yet, he recovers quickly, steadying himself and charging again. This time, I notice something unusual—a faint but distinct flow of mana coursing through his tonfas.
