The morning sun filtered through the dusty windows of the classroom, its bright rays stabbing right into my barely awake brain. My seat, located conveniently in the back corner, was the perfect place to do a little recon without being noticed. Or to fall asleep if it came to that—both were pretty good options.
Today, I needed to keep my eyes open, though.
Not after what I saw.

What the hell are they doing, acting as if skipping classes is nothing?
I even skipped class myself because of them... Those lively kids.
Maya sat at her desk, surrounded by her entourage, mostly consisting of girls who seemed to think the sun shone out of her designer shoes. Today, she wasn't chatting with Arazuka and Utaru, the two basketball aces who usually hung around her, but instead with a group of other girls. They were giggling about something, probably the latest gossip or some nonsense that rich kids like to talk about.
