Mr. Takabana's calm voice broke the silence, his eyes sharp as he began to explain.
"There are several factions that have recently become enemies of my family. They've been waiting for an opportunity to strike, and my granddaughter could be an easy target," he said, his voice unwavering. He paused, letting the silence sink in, and I could feel the weight of the conversation hanging in the air. He continued, his voice dropping a notch, as if revealing a darker secret.
"The most dangerous threat, however, isn't just these factions..."
He let his gaze drift towards the assistant, then back at me.
"There might be magicians among them," he said, each word deliberate. He let the words hang in the air, almost as if testing me.
"And that would mean a normal bodyguard won't suffice."
I stared at him, letting the word "magician" settle into my thoughts.
