I blinked, groggily pulling myself back to reality. The first thing I noticed was the cold, damp ground beneath me. Of course, the alley. I was back here again. Great.
I rubbed the back of my neck and cracked it to the side, feeling the stiffness from whatever spell had knocked me out earlier. My body felt heavy, but I could still sense everything around me. The air was thick with lingering magic. Something was off—well, more than usual.
My eyes landed on the others, lying unconscious around me. Miratsuka, Frostina, Niao, and even Ao were sprawled out on the ground, breathing steadily but completely out of it. Not exactly the dream team right now.
I stood up, stretching my arms over my head. As I did, I felt it. That faint prickling sensation in the air, like a subtle warning. Someone was still here, watching.
Or rather, trying to leave.
