Sitting beside Frostina in the restaurant, the silence between us wasn't exactly comfortable, but it wasn't unbearable either. It was more like one of those awkward quiet moments where you're not sure if you should say something to break it or just let it hang in the air like an unwanted guest.
I kept my eyes fixed on the novel in front of me, not because I was particularly engrossed, but because it felt like the safest option. Frostina sat stiffly beside me, her eyes occasionally flicking in my direction. I could practically feel the question brewing in her head, but she seemed reluctant to say it out loud.
"Are you going to keep ignoring me?" she asked finally, her voice as icy as ever.
"Wasn't aware I was," I replied without looking up from the page. "You could always just... you know, not sit here if you don't want to."
