The words just slipped out of my mouth as a bit of an insult. But honestly, can you blame me this time? Kanna had really outdone herself with that attack.

I have a lot to say about Kanna's reckless behavior—like how she almost hit her own allies—but for now, I need to deal with the crystal knight that's still coming toward us, albeit barely. After taking the full brunt of Kanna's compressed fire spell, the knight's left arm had completely melted, and its body was deformed, but somehow, it was still walking. Though it was just barely standing, it clearly had no fight left.
