"Yes my nose is straight enough. My forehead is just fine. I see no pores. Ugh! What's that the tails of my eyes aren't matching" he dropped the mirror on the table with a bang as he panicked.
'My left eye is more droopy and both of them have to be phoenix eyes. Would they see it? I have to win the school grass selection— to show Shen Bohan that he's not the most handsome in this school.'
"I am." He turned towards Jidenna's room, his eyes flashing with ruthlessness.
The competition between Shen Bohan and Li Wei started some years ago when he, Li Wei, was still a pitiful figure. He once liked a girl. She was very beautiful and he couldn't resist so he morseled up courage and confessed to her but what did she tell him?
"Oh, What's your name again?" After introducing his name twice.
"I'm not interested in people like you" To emphasize her point she arrogantly looked at him from head to toe with a wrinkled nose.
Her gaze felt as though she could see even through his designer clothes to his insecure heart he squirmed where he stood feeling uncomfortable at that thought.
Under her gaze his head lowered until he was looking at the sands under her heels counting them.
"Unless of course you're like my male god, Shen Bohan" unlike the disdainful gave she used to evaluate him when talking about Shen Bohan her eyes shone like a constellation of stars in the night sky and from that day he, Li Wei hated that name— Shen Bohan
That day after her rejection all the affection he had for her flushed down the drain left only with seething hate. He wrote down both her name and male god's name, Shen Bohan, into his little black book which had a hundred other names of people who had offended him in his little life.
Swearing that one day when he was powerful enough he would deal with each and every one of them.
That's why when he got the system apart from feeling joyful the first thing he had done was to drain her leaving her only merger scraps to battle with barely able to get her through her day to day life.
He snatched the beauty she was so proud of and added it to himself dancing and whining at her downfall. Every bad news about her was like pleasant music to his ears and he intended to do the same thing to her male god.
For that goal he studied properly diligently absorbing the luck of his enemies to increase his intelligence.
His results grew at the speed of a rocket, surprising everyone even gaining the attention of the main family and at the dead time against all odds he squeezed into the rank.
Making it into the university based on his efforts.
But he just couldn't let the humiliation he had received when he was younger rest so he was determined to win against him in the school grass voting.
That's why, even if he knew deep down in his heart that he's actions towards Jidenna who had done absolutely nothing to him directly or indirectly.
He would not hesitate to do it again if time rewound itself.
Because with his actions he would prove to all those who disdained him that he, Li Wei, was not a cowardly wimp who could never amount to anything in life.
Returning to the present, Li Wei's eyes flashed again as she strengthened his resolve to push Jidenna further so that he could get the most of his luck.
While thinking to himself, 'don't worry when I'm done I'll treat you as my subordinate caring and providing for you forever'
This night will be the night where I'll squeeze him some more.
'From the looks of things I might be able to finish about 40% of my mission tonight.' he estimated licking him like a farmer foreseeing his harvest.
That night, from inside his room Jidenna could barely hear cracking of crickets he lay curled up on his bed with his eyes staring blankly at the turning fan.
The room was arranged with each object where they were supposed to be and the floor was clear of any objects unlike earlier.
Jidenna got up from the bed and dragged himself to eat something.
For some reason he felt even more uncomfortable than he did in the morning, almost slamming into the wall as he walked.
It was becoming increasingly unnatural the more it happened.
For a moment, Jidenna wondered, 'Am I cursed?' it was just that unnatural.
In a line every one would pass and nothing will happen; it's only when he does that something does.
It had happened so many times for him to brush it off as a coincidence.
Walking out of the kitchen with a bowl of steaming food in his hands Jidenna listlessly walked back to his room.
On his palms were visible shocking cuts.
As he had expected his luck just kept getting from worse to worst each time renewing what Jidenna defined as extreme bad luck.
The knife just kept targeting his palms giving him new injuries to add to the old ones.
Walking to his room he silently bypassed his roommate, Li Wei who sat with legs wide apart leaning into the couch.
Unlike his haggard look Li Wei for some reason seemed to glow. The contrast was so sharp that it hurt his eyes so he threw his face away.
But just as he turned away he caught a flash, a bright purple pass through Li Wei's eyes.
He staggered to a halt blinking rapidly in disbelief.
He glanced at Li Wei again but this time he saw nothing unusual, just the familiar black eyed pale skinned person he had come to dislike.
Jidenna resumed his steps trying to shrug off the odd feeling he got by thinking, 'it seems I've been really tired these days'
Just then, he yawned which cemented his earlier thoughts.
'I should get some shut eye' but just when he crossed his doorstep, he once again caught Li Wei's eyes flashing with the same eerie purple.
Followed by a crash.
