The figure appeared to be a girl with Raven-black and waist-length hair, her hair swayed as she entered through the entrance, with her well-pressed uniform, she looked mature and gorgeous, average height with skin as white as snow, lips as red as rose, slender build and hourglass figure, you could say she was easily the most beautiful girl you would ever see, but her gaze was quite cold with her piercing obsidian pupils, she didn't even glance at anyone's direction as she walked elegantly into the class.
"Isn't that Silvia?....."
"The girl who shunned senior Alex.
?....."
"You got to be kidding, that handsome upperclassman?...."
"Not only handsome, he is the vice president of the student council...!"
"Wow!! How high is her standard then?"
The students wondered especially the male ones, mouth agape at the icy princess.
"S-Silvia?..." Luca stuttered just as Silvia passed by his seat, she glanced briefly at him with a cold expression and then continued walking towards the back, after reaching a seat at the last row, she sat down.
"E-everybody, keep quiet...
... I-I will repeat the roll call" The class rep said while stuttering slightly.
Luca then entered a state of thought.
She sure has changed a lot....., the last time I saw her was about a few years ago, I wondered what changed her, such a lively girl, perhaps something happened in her middle school, who would have thought we would attend the same high school, but that beautiful smile of five years ago is nowhere to be seen, I guess a lot happened to her that I don't know.
Luca was engrossed in thoughts until his name was called which he replied but slightly late.
Just as the roll call was finished, a lady wobbled into the class, she looked in her late twenties, with tied back short black hair, she was dressed in a purple shirt and a black skimpy skirt that appeared to be quite tight, with matching high heels which all together made her steps wobbly like a newborn giraffe. She approached the class rep standing at the front of the class, while the whole class stood up immediately and greeted her.
She collected the register from the class rep and gazed at the class with a slightly contorted expression as though she had just bitten into a lemon.
"Hmm-hmm..." she cleared her throat.
"As you have known during your orientation ceremony last week, I'm Mrs. Veronica Brown, your homeroom teacher, and I will be taking you math," she introduced. With her heavy makeup, she looked like some talking art project.
"Have you taken the roll call and is everyone present?" She turned and asked the class rep.
"Yes ma'am" he replied, adjusting his glass with his index finger as he spoke.
She turned to the class again. Luca, whose eyelids seemed to be fluttering like a moth caught in a lampshade, struggled to stay awake.
As he realized that Mrs. Brown's gaze had landed on him, he struggled to keep his eyes from closing by using his fingers to prop them open like a pair of sleepy, stubborn shutters.
"I believe you are Mr. Moonfire...
....you didn't attend last week's freshers' orientation ceremony and to top it off, feeling sleepy on the first day of lecture, that is quite a promising start"
Mrs Brown said with a surly look and sarcastic tone.
"I'm sorry Ma" Luca replied slightly remorsefully.
"Alright, everyone, listen up," she said sharply.
"I will be assigning pairs for board cleaning duty. Each pair will be formed by the person sitting beside you and will be responsible for a week, making sure the board is spotless at the end of each period." She said and paused, looking at the students' reaction.
Some looked happy, smiling at their partner beside them while some looked sullen and displeased.
In Luca's case, his partner was the cheerful girl, Lily Harrison, she turned and looked at Luca, beaming.
Luca shifted back a bit with a confused expression.
What is with her
He thought.
"That is all" Mrs Brown concluded and wobbled away.
The class soon plunged into a state of noise.
After a while, a teacher entered signifying the start of another lecture.
Luca managed to battle through the seamless flow of lectures on the first day.
After closing time, Luca thought he should get in touch with Silvia.
"I think she went in the direction of the computer lab, I wonder what she went to do," he thought having monitored Silvia the moment she left the class. The last lecture was chemistry, the chemistry teacher had supposedly given them classwork to do and submit to the class rep before leaving for home, but Silvia had even solved her own finished within a couple of minutes, she stood, submitted her work and left, the class was agape at this occurrence, even the class rep has yet to finish.
Luca had just solved and submitted his own when the closing time bell rang, he left the class and made his way in the direction Silvia passed.
Reaching the computer lab, it was empty.
"Where did she go then" he mused and strolled past a few teachers' office blocks, After wandering around for a while, it seemed he was around a few blocks to the school gate.
"Perhaps she had gone home, I should give up" he muttered.
Just as he passed by a block that appeared to be the school library, he noticed a figure by the window which was opened, a girl figure who seemed to be engrossed in the book she was reading.
"S-Silvia?" He stuttered,
"That is her, no mistake," he said in realization and approached the building.
Several boys who were walking passed the building were seen gawking at Silvia as she was engrossed in her book, as the wind blew through the window, her hair seemed to sway in its wake.
It wasn't that Silvia was showy, she just liked reading by the window as the breeze served to deepen her concentration, even as the boys and girls kept gawking and uttering numerous admiration, she spared them no glance.
Luca entered the library and walked to the librarian's desk, a slim lady in her mid-twenties, he showed her his student ID for permission, and she nodded in confirmation.
Luca made his way to Silvia who sat at the last angle of the library beside an opened window.
"H-hi Silvia" he greeted as he reached her front.
Suddenly multiple mumbles were heard from the outside from boys who were passing by.
