Chapter 47 - Chronicle 47 ~ First Mission (6)

Vin took a while to process her report and was quite impressed at how, they had handled the mission he entrusted to them, after that he addressed them again.

"You really did good everyone, I'm proud of you, but the battle is not over yet. The Exodus Order should escort the kids and the researchers to Zidane's location, I'll contact her to be ready to receive you.

"After that, you should return to the base through the tunnel you used in escaping, and await my signal, the moment I give the command, kill anyone who isn't part of the Exodus Order. Is that understood?"

"Yes Lord Zero!"

"There isn't much time, get going then" Vin said and with that the image vanished.

Diane and the rest of the Exodus Order immediately led the kids and researchers towards the area outside of the Hage village, where Zidane would be waiting for them.

There wasn't much time, so they picked up the pace hoping to return as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, a few minutes ago, in a corner of a long winding hallway, that criss-crossed and intersected with different chambers.

A single flickering violet colored shadow, could be seen moving silently in covert steps.

This person was naturally Vin, and the place where he was was right in the center of the base.

While moving along the way, he had left one member of the Nexus Primes, in each of the strategic location in the base, so it would be easier to intercept and surround the enemies.

Vin was standing right in front of what looked like the command center as he contemplated the best approach to badge in.

But it was then he received the transmission from Diane through God's eye.

One of the advantages of God's eye was that, since all the members of the Exodus Order had already been marked by him, it was connected to all of their emblems.

So they could contact him at anytime, and he could send his projection over to them, and this projection could even release about five percent of his combat strength.

Although he was sure he could improve in that in the nearest future. After communicating with her and giving them instructions.

Vin used God's eye you contact Zidane next, she confirmed that she would be ready to receive the the Shadows and Paragons.

Vin then refocused his attention on the door in front of him, there were about four people manning the door, and they were all at the peak stages of the Body refining realm.

They couldn't see him because he was still hidden in the shadows.

'Since the first main objective of our mission has been accomplished successfully, it's time for the second one killing you all' he thought.

Now that there was nothing holding him back anymore, he decided it was time for the full out battle.

Vin took a deep breath, his heart racing in anticipation, he didn't know what was behind that door but he wasn't going to back down so with a swift motion, he dashed out of the shadows and headed towards guards manning the door.

The guards looked at him in shock, but before they could even raise alarm, Vin had killed them, then he opened the door and charged in.

Inside the leaders of the Tenebrous Taskforce sat around a large circular table, their faces lit by a glowing Orb in the center of the table.

They looked up in shock, surprised at how someone could just badge in without raising any of the alarms.

But when they saw it was only one person, dressed in violet colored runic battle robes with a good covering his face and hiding his identity, there were silver colored gauntlets on both his arms that were inscribed with runic symbols.

The felt quite quite relieved he was alone, they immediately thought that he was just lucky, maybe he had cultivated a special skill, that's all.

But they also felt it was quite disturbing, because this person looked calm, too calm that they knew he wasn't faking it, but where did he get his confidence from, that he would just badge into the enemy's base alone.

One of the leaders, a female with curly blonde hair and perfect oval face named Arachne, looked at him and sneered coldly "How nice of you to drop by, but the audacity you have to badge into this place all alone, what gave you the guts?"

Vin smirked, and with his hands behind his back, his eyes scanning the room "I'm here to put an end to your vile and twisted existence, you might as well surrender and I might consider sparing your lives."

He then turned towards the woman who had spoken, and asked "Besides, what makes you think I came alone".

Vin surveyed the other so called leaders and he couldn't help but notice the odd numbers, but also perfectly distributed power factors.

There were eleven of them sitting around the table, five on both sides and one that that sat at the head.

Vin first of all scanned the cultivation levels of the ten people, and he was quite impressed.

The weakest was only at the the third stage, while the strongest were in the fifth stage of the Spirit Sea Realm.

There were about five people in the third stage, three of them were in the fourth stage, and the last two were on the same stage as him, the fifth stage.

He then turned and focused on the person who sat at the head of the table, his cultivation was the strongest of everyone here, he was actually in the sixth stage, one stage higher that Vin.

He was the only one who hid his appearance under a hood unlike the rest of them, and just like Vin, he seemed surprisingly calm, almost like he wasn't even bothered or surprised at Vin's entrance.

"So you must the Archon I heard about!" Vin states9 as he focused his attention on him, he was wearing blood red robes, just like the rest of the leaders, but with the hood over his face, he seemed to be quite different from them.

"Yes. Who are you?!" the Archon asked.

Vin had even assumed he was quite special among the Tenebrous Taskforce. But when he heard the voice of this person he was quite baffled, 'This person, he's quite young, like me'

"I am the leader of the Exodus Order. You can call me Zero" Vin replied calmly.

"The Exodus Order. I have never heard of it" the Archon said as he tilted his head in obvious confusion, and curiosity.

'The Exodus Order has just been established, and this could be counted as our very first mission together, so it isn't surprising that you don't know about us" Vin stated.

"You said you didn't come here alone, where are the rest of your subordinates then?" the Archon asked.

"They are within the base, waiting for my signal, but I can feel they're quite impatient, they can't wait to crush this unit" Vin replied.

"You sound like you've fought against one of our other units before" Arachne butted in, she was also one of the two people in the fifth stage, only one level below the Archon.

"Indeed I have, a few months ago, that was also the day the Exodus Order was born" Vin replied, but he didn't even glance at her, only focusing on the Archon.

This person was the only one here who was giving him dangerous vibes, he could easily kill the rest of the leaders here within a few minutes, but he was very sure the Archon was going to be a tough opponent.

Although he was confident in his strength, he wasn't so conceited that he would think he was unraveled yet and he was very sure this person was very formidable.

But that didn't make him cower, no it only made his fighting spirit blazed the more.

His battle intent was brimming with electricity in his eyes as he glared at the Archon, he couldn't help but feel a certain rush coursing through his body.

"I can feel you're also like me, a battle hardened freak who loves the thrill of a blood bath, and although you're only one level below me, I have a feeling your strength can't be determined by your cultivation stage.

"In fact, my senses tell me I might not be a match for you, but I don't believe it, I don't believe there is someone within the same realm as me, who can defeat me, that believe is what made me where I am today" the Archon said at this moment.

There was bloodlust dripping from his voice, as he too released his battle intent, this caused sparks to fly about in the middle when the two battle intent clashed.

There was tension within the the large room as everyone could feel the condensed spiritual pressure waiting to burst out of the both of them at any moment.

"They are only in the Spirit sea realm, how can their battle intent take form?"

"Their spiritual pressure is nothing to scoff at, and this is only the suppressed form?!"

"Are they even humans?"
