Chapter 21 - Chronicle 21 ~ Tenebrous Taskforce (6)

Vin stood up after an hour of rest, the other still hadn't woken up, so he decided to get himself busy, he would check his spoils of war.

First of all was his skills, he checked them and was satisfied with the progress.

'Sword one. And Tears of Asura has been pushed to the peak of the great success realm, just a step away from completion, I recommend I only need one more great battle to achieve breakthrough.

'I just hope those Mortal lords can help me with that. Now then as for the two skills I created. Hermes Celeration and Fallen leaves, they can't be judged with the normal ranking system as they are skills that would grow with my strength.

But I should probably master the first move of the Seven sins of chaos, before I can think of creating the second move. As for Hermes Celeration, it's a movement technique that allows me to pass through the barrier of distance itself, in the Tome of Eridoria, I think it's called the speed force.

'But for now I'm only able to pass through it, I'm not strong or fast enough to vibe into the speed force yet, I guess I need to master the technique more before I can do that.

So that's that for skills and techniquesnow lets see about my cultivation, it's been almost a month since I achieved my current realm and after all these battles, it has loosened a little, so after the Mortal lords competition, I'll go for a breakthrough.

'Now then, why don't I gather my spoils of war' Vin rounded his thoughts there as he went around gathering the spatial rings of the black robed underlins he had killed.

Frankly he was quite surprised they even had one because only when someone had reached the Spirit sea realm would then even have the finance to purchase the lowest of spacial rings.

And even though they were the most basic, they were still quite expensive, the only reason he even had one was because of his master.

After running around for a few minutes, Vin gathered all the spacial rings he could find and decided to inspect them, since their owners were dead, the spiritual mark they left on the ring was already wiped out.

When Vin checked out their contents, he was quite surprised, although they each didn't have much resources for cultivation when gathered together, they quite the fortune, but what really moved him were gold coins he found in them.

Each of them had at least a hundred to five hundred gold coins, some having as much as seven hundred, when combined together, he had amassed a few tens of thousands of gold coins.

It must be known that the amount of people he had killed were more than a hundred of them, so amassing that amount wasn't a surprise, so Vin could Confidently say he was richer than most cultivators in the early and middle stages of the Spirit sea realm.

Probably only those who were in the late stages could compete with him, in wealth, not to mention the weapons of them too, when Vin finished calculating his fortune, he nodded his head in satisfaction and placed all of them in his small world.

After that he stood up and patted himself, he decided to explore the entire hideout as he waiting for the rest of his team mates to wake up.

First of all, he went to check up on the children they had saved, they had been placed in the room that was beside the large cavern.

When he saw them, he could see how frightened they were. He felt immense pity for them as he could understand what they had been through, he too had also had his own fair share of tribulations.

The youngest of the kids who took the majority of them were only about five years, and the oldest of them were a few kids of nine, the rest were shared between six seven eight years of age.

The kids tensed up a little when he walked into the room, he didn't want to scare them so he tried explaining the situation to them, but only after he had given them healing potions and allowed them rest a while.

"You don't have to worry about those villains anymore, I and my team made sure of that, so there's no need to be scared."

"A.a.are... they really gone?" a little girl if about five stammered out. "Yes love, those bad people won't be harming you anymore, Okay" Vin reassured as he squatted in front of her, he wiped off the tears spilling out of her eyes as he patted her head.

"Alright kids, once the rest of my team mates are up, we'll be leaving this place, do you guys know the way to your home so we can take you there" Vin said as he stood up to look at the kids.

"Some of us don't have a home to return to, we've been made orphans by those villains" one of the older kids replied, he was surprisingly the calmest of them all, Vin had noticed this kid when before the fight had even started.

Although he had looked scared, he didn't panic like the rest of them, he was still able to maintain a sliver of rationality.

"What's your name?" Vin asked "I'm Aildris sir" the boy replied. "Jeez, I'm not old, you don't have to refer to me as sir. You said some of you have been made orphans, how so? Vin asked.

"We don't know why they did that but the older of us kids, our entire family was destroyed and we were picked up from the remnants, as for the rest of them they were abducted, I think!." Aildris replied.

"Is that so, I'm sorry for your loss then. Those of you who were abducted, can you please move to the left side." Vin said.

And immediately the majority of them moved to the left side of the room, there were about seventy of them, leaving only thirty remaining, standing where then were.

And Aildris was right, the majority that had moved to the left were all the kids ranging from five to seven years of age.

As for the thirty orphans, nine of them nine years of age, while the remaining twenty-one were eight.

Vin marveled at this combination, it seemed this thirty kids had good talents that was why they were made orphans and kept separate from the rest, it was also then he noticed that there were transparent crystals embedded in the forehead of the thirty oldest kids.

"So the thirty of you do not have a home or family to return to huh!" Vin exhaled deeply.

Just as he was thinking of what to do with them, a sudden thought flashed through his head, it was just a spurr of the moment, but he felt as if a spark had lit up in him. He didn't know how the future would be, but he decided to take the risk and go ahead with his guts.

And so he stared deeply at them, before he decided to ask a question that might alter the course of his and their future.

"I'm someone who has made a vow to punish those who have sinned against this world, and cleanse Eridoria of its filth, since you do you not have a family to return to, join me and let us walk to the peak of this world, as family, after all I'm also an orphan like you" Vin proposed.

"You're willing to take us in?" Aildris exclamed in surprise. "Yes Vin, are you sure you want to take in those kids?" A voice cut through the air at that moment as three more people walked into the stone room.

These were naturally Raya and the others who had obviously woken up at some point, "I'm glad you're awake and well. Marco" Vin said turning around to face them.

He had already sensed them when they entered the room, though he didn't know when they woke up, "Did you only wake up now?" he asked as he turned to Raya.

"We woke up a few minutes ago, I guess it's because you fed us healing pills, or else we would have been knocked out for a few more hours. Thank you" Raya said in appreciation.

Vin haven't even noticed it, but three hours had already passed, "I do indeed have the thought of taking them in, is that a problem?" he asked as he turned to face Marco.

"I'm not against you taking them in, I'm just concerned about how you would take care of them, is all" Marco shook his head as he replied.

"Thanks for your concern but, I think we'll be fine" Vin said as he turned to the kids with a faint smile on his face.

"Now then, have you decided?" he asked the stunned who seemed to be in deep thought.

"Aildris Vadgar, pledges allegiance to you, Mi Lord" Aildris said as he genuflected before Vin, even with his young age, he was quite decisive which made Vin models his head in approval.

After that, another person followed suite.

"Henrycus Christensen, at your will!"
