Chapter 1 - Chronicle 1 ~ Awaken (1)

A calm wind swept through the the ground, bringing dried leaves in its quake. The wind seemed to be singing a low tune as it hummed continuously.

But at the background of that song, the faint sound of sweeping could be heard, creating a rhythm with the wind, and the one responsible for this hummed along with that rhythm, like it was always always supposed to be so.

If all this was added to the the picturesque scenery of high rising mountains, deep ravines and criss-crossing valleys, it might create the perfect scenario of an immortal taking a vacation in his garden.

But if one looked at the 15 year old body of the person in question, it wouldn't look so perfect anymore. His body looked so malnourished, like he hadn't eaten in days, his face pale like a sick person who had been left unattended, creating a fragile atmosphere around him like he could be be blown away by the wind at a moments notice.

But despite the weak appearance, he also had defining features, Pristine silver hair with obsidian dark eyes and cross shaped amethyst pupils.

His skin was fair and supple like a fairy and if one didn't mind his fragile state, he truly did look like an immortal.

But sadly even if he looked like one he didn't have the qualifications to call himself one. That's because not only was his body weak, his cultivation was also weak. In this world where the weak are prey to the strong, someone like him would be easily killed anywhere else but fortunately not where he currently was.

After all, he was being protected by one of the five most prominent first rate sect in the Cloud Plane continent, the Flaming sun sect.

The Flaming sun sect was a prominent first rate power in the Cloud Plane continent spanning thousands of kilometers in circumference. It's deciples were mostly predominant by flame cultivators or those whose techniques are closer to yang.

That's because it's atmosphere was filled with prevalent fire essence. It was said that the founder of the Flaming sun sect was a wandering fire cultivator who happened to stumble upon a burning meteorite whose Flames never went off, burning bright like a miniature sun, amazed by this concept, he decided to settle down there and establish a sect using the meteorite as its core.

He used various ores and other natural resources to build a large barrier spanning close to ten thousand kilometers around the core so as to contain the fire essence it was emitting.

Looking at it from above, with a bird's point of view, it looked like a miniature burning sum, and that's how it got the name Flaming sun sect.

In other to maintain hierarchy, the deciples were divided into three parts the outer, inner and core deciples depending on their cultivation realms.

In the Cloud Plane continent there were six known realms in the cultivation world namely:

Body refining realm

Sprit sea realm

Sea expansion realm

Core formation realm.

Nasant soul realm

Well above that was the three Palaces realm but no one on knows the exact details of the realm except the Cloud Plane empire. The predominant power that ruled over the Cloud plane continent, below them came the first rate sects namely : Flaming sun sect, Blood God academy, Glazed Ice palace, Esquisite paradise and the Yin-yang Union church.

Below them came the second rate and third rate powers. In the Flaming sun sect, the outer deciples are mostly filled with body refining realm deciples, when one broke through to the spirit sea realm before the age of 20 they would be considered as geniuses and be promoted to the inner court and become inner deciples, If they broke through to the sea expansion realm before 25, they would be regarded as the elites of the sect and be made core deciples.

The core formation realm is mostly dominated by the sect elders while only the sect master and vice sect master were in the Nasant soul realm.

But that's just speaking estimatedly, because there were some monstrous genius who broke through to the sea expansion realm before 20, and the core formation realm at 25.

These people were regarded as as demon level genius but if that was all there is to it then they wouldn't be worthy that title, that's because these genius could fight above their levels, some could fight those above their stages, while some could even skip entire realms, but they were as rare as finding a needle in haystack.

"Eremiel Vin Celestra, huh?!, what domineering name for someone so weak and pathetic like me " Vin sighed heavy as he continued to sweep, but it seemed the wind wouldn't let him as it kept blowing back the leaves.

It had been three years since he started sweeping here alone and five years since he joined the Flaming sun sect but nothing had changed for him, actually something did change and that was his degrading status in the sect.

All through his life Vin had tasted the bitterness of suffering, he had been abandoned by his parents as a child and had to live on the streets ever since with barely anyone to take care of him.

That was until five years ago when he had stumbled upon a mysterious tree in the dark wind forest, the dark wind forest as its name suggested was a forest filled with blackened trees like it had been scorched by a raging inferno.

And the vicinity of the forest was ravaged by a biting cold black wind, if one wasn't careful they would killed by the wind alone. But as scary as it sounded, it was also a place to search for opportunities, that was because legend had it that a Phoenix had died in it.

Although it was hard to believe but people still tended to believe in false hope especially during desperate times and that was what drove Vin to the dark wind forest that very day.

He still remembered how desperately he wanted to change his situation which had almost driven him to insanity as a child. And then he saw it, a Flaming red tree that didn't quite fit the place was blazing right in front of him.

At first, he had thought it was an illusion but the heat coming from the tree told otherwise, he didn't quite understand why it was there in the first place after all that place wasn't the core of the black wind forest, it was at most close to the middle, and how he was able to get that far with his measly strength was practically a miracle, at least that was what he told himself.

When gazing at the Flaming tree, he felt like he was looking at a living creature, the Flames pulsated like it was breathing, and as if to confirm his suspicions he heard a faint voice "Fated one, come"

At that moment he almost turned and fled, but surprisingly his curiosity got the better part of him and indeed he moved closer as if drawn by a mysterious force until he was practically right in front of the tree.

Surprisingly it didn't feel so scary anymore, intrigued he raised hand and touched it before even realizing it and when he did he was immensely surprised "The Flames, it's actually quite... warm" he muttered releasing the breath he hadn't known he had been holding.

And that's when he heard the voice again "Fated one, you have come, you who has been chosen by Eridoria." it said pausing a little before continuing "But it seems it isn't time for awakening, at most five years from now.

"You.. You're not talking about me right?" Vin asked naively, it couldn't be helped, despite being only ten he understood after being called fated "No, it can't be me" he shook his head profusely "I'm someone who is born with bad luck, how can I be called fated one?!"

"I'm sorry you've had to suffer all these years little one but it can't be helped after all a Phoenix needs to suffer before rebirth" the voice sighed heavily, there was helplessness in its tone. "What is your name, Fated one."

" Eremiel,.. Eremiel Vin Celestra" Vin replied still reeling in shock

"Eremiel huh, not a bad name. I would have love to chat a little longer but I do not have much time anymore. I would pass on my essence to you which would help you Awaken in five years time." it said hurriedly "Huh, what the...." Vin replied with same pace but before he could even decipher what was going on the voice said again "And you can call me Sedalia... Sedalia El Amari"

Those were the last words he heard before his body was flooded by Flaming hot essence, it only took a moment before the pain registered in his mind and then "Aaaaaaahhhhhh" he screamed at the top of his lungs "It hurts.. It hurts ahhhhhhh" he kept on screaming until he no longer could and then, he blacked out.
