Anastasia leaned on her car. She had been waiting outside the house for about thirty minutes. As she was hesitant, she didn't even knock on the door or call Daniel. The weather seemed aligned with her emotions at the moment, as it started to become gloomy. She thought perhaps it was because it was nearing dusk, but then the rain suddenly started pouring hard.
As she instinctively tried to shield herself, the car key slipped from her fingers and fell to the ground. Drenched almost instantly, she felt the cold rain soaking through her clothes.
Just then, the front door swung open. Daniel's stern face appeared as he rushed forward. "What are you still doing here? I told you to go back, right?" His tone was cold, but his actions showed otherwise as he held an umbrella above her head, shielding her from the downpour.
"I'm... sorry," Anastasia muttered, looking straight at him.
