Chapter 29 - Chapter Twenty Nine

Agent Ross's smile was like a crack in his armor, a glimpse of the man behind the mask. Moselia's heart skipped a beat as she saw the warmth in his eyes, the gentle curve of his lips.

"You're something else, Moselia," he said, his voice low and husky. "I'll give you that. You're the first person to ever try to manipulate me into smiling."

Moselia grinned, feeling a sense of triumph. "I'm full of surprises," she said, her eyes sparkling.

Agent Ross chuckled, a deep, rich sound that sent shivers down Moselia's spine. "I'm starting to realize that," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

For a moment, they just looked at each other, the tension between them dissipating. Moselia felt like she was seeing Agent Ross for the first time, like she was glimpsing the real person beneath the surface.

"Okay, Moselia," he said finally, his voice soft. "Let's get to know each other. But no more tricks, deal?"

Moselia nodded, her heart racing with excitement. "Deal," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Then he lifted her into his arms, shocking Moselia a lot.

"It's time for bed, you still have school tomorrow"

"You ... You didn't have to carry me" her voice reduced each time she talked and her ears turned pink.

"So you even know to be embarrassed, and you did all those things with me downstairs? Do you think I'm a robot?" He opened her bedroom door and dropped her on the bed.

"Then we're you moved? Agent Ross, do you like me?"

Heading that statement again, he flushed but quickly concealed it.

Agent Ross went back to his room, visibly shaken, he knew it, just what effect this kid had on him.

He didn't want to falter in his step of protecting her.

He knew that the organization had nothing good in mind for her but he couldn't bring himself to say so, he didn't know why, all he could do was protect her to the best of his ability like he's been doing for a long time.

"She has grown" he whispered and smiled.

The his heart beat faster, especially remembering their skin to skin contact, especially at the massage of her neck, it was enticing.

As Agent Ross stood under the cold shower, he couldn't shake off the feeling of Moselia's skin against his. He had been trained to maintain his composure, but there was something about her that made him falter. He remembered the way she smiled, the way her eyes sparkled, and the way her hair fell down her back like a waterfall.

He groaned, feeling his body respond to the memories. He hadn't expected this. He was supposed to be her protector, not some lovesick teenager. But as he thought about their deal, about getting to know her, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement.

As he turned off the shower and stepped out, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looked...different. Softer, somehow. He shook his head, chuckling wryly. Moselia was indeed a force to be reckoned with.

He got dressed and lay down on his bed, his mind racing with thoughts of her. He knew he had to keep his distance, but he couldn't help feeling drawn to her. And as he drifted off to sleep, he smiled, knowing that his time in this house would indeed be worthwhile.

He heard when her parents returned and he stood up and went out to see them.

As Agent Ross entered the living room, Moselia's parents turned to face him. They looked tired but relieved to be home.

"Agent Ross, thank you for taking care of Moselia," her mother said, smiling weakly.

"No problem, ma'am," Agent Ross replied, his expression neutral. "She's been...enlightening."

Moselia's father raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what do you mean by that?"

Agent Ross hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "Let's just say she's a handful, sir."

Moselia's mother laughed. "That's our Moselia. Always keeping us on our toes."

The tension in the room was palpable, and Agent Ross knew that Moselia's parents were hiding something. He made a mental note to investigate further.

"Is everything okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning their faces.

Moselia's father nodded. "Yes, everything's fine. Just a long day."

Agent Ross nodded, but he knew better. He would keep a close eye on them, and on Moselia. Something was off, and he aimed to find out what.

The following day Moselia's parents travelled on business trip, after taking Moselia to school, I went in further to investigate what her parents were up to.

Sitting in the car, waiting for school to be over.

When I knew it was time, this time, I got down and went directly in to pick Moselia.

I saw her with her friend, the face couldn't be mistaken anywhere.

She was wearing a pair of black off shoulder shirt , and white tennis skirt she paired with black thigh knee boots and had a leather belt around her waist.

As Agent Ross walked up to Moselia and her friend Rachel, he couldn't help but notice the way Moselia's eyes sparkled when she saw him. He felt a flutter in his chest, which he quickly suppressed.

"Hey, Moselia," he said, taking her bag from her. "Time to go."

Rachel looked him up and down, her eyes widening in appreciation. "Wow, you're definitely the hottest bodyguard I've ever seen," she said, giggling.

Moselia rolled her eyes good naturedly. "Rachel, stop it."

Agent Ross smiled wryly, used to the attention. But as he glanced at Moselia, he caught her staring at him, her eyes lingering on his face. He felt a jolt of electricity run through him, and quickly looked away, focusing on the task at hand.

As they walked to the car, Moselia couldn't help but notice the way Agent Ross's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled, the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck. She felt a flutter in her chest, and quickly pushed the thoughts away. She couldn't afford to get distracted, not now.

But as they drove away from the school, Moselia couldn't help but sneak glances at Agent Ross, her heart racing with excitement. She couldn't believe how much he reminded her of Zayn, the way he moved, the way he smiled. It was uncanny.

And yet, as she looked at Agent Ross, she saw something different, something unique. A sense of safety, of protection, that she hadn't felt in a long time except only around Zayn, the feeling was too familiar.

As they stopped at a red light, Agent Ross turned to her, his eyes locking onto hers. Moselia felt her heart skip a beat, her pulse racing with excitement.

"Hey, Moselia," he said, his voice low. "You okay?"

Moselia nodded, her voice caught in her throat. She couldn't speak, couldn't breathe. All she could do was look at him, her heart pounding in her chest.

Agent Ross's eyes held hers, his gaze piercing and intense. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the only sound the hum of the engine and the beat of Moselia's heart.

Then, without breaking eye contact, Agent Ross reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind Moselia's ear. His touch sent shivers down her spine, and she felt her face heat up with a blush.

"You're really something, Moselia," he whispered, his voice low and husky.

Moselia's heart skipped a beat as she processed his words. No one had ever looked at her like that before, no one had ever made her feel so seen and so wanted.

As the light turned green, Agent Ross broke eye contact and focused on the road, leaving Moselia breathless and bewildered. She couldn't understand what was happening, couldn't comprehend the feelings that were swirling inside her.

"let's g.. go to the mall, I want to pick something up" she stammered.

Agent Ross raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "The mall, huh? Okay, Moselia. But stick close to me, okay?"

Moselia nodded, still feeling a little dazed from their earlier exchange. She couldn't believe the way Agent Ross had looked at her, the way he had touched her hair.

As they arrived at the mall, Moselia led the way, Agent Ross following closely behind her. She could feel his eyes on her, sense his presence, and it made her feel both nervous and exhilarated.

As they walked through the crowded corridors, Moselia suddenly stopped in front of a clothing store. "I need to get something in here," she said, turning to Agent Ross.

He nodded, his eyes scanning the area before following her into the store. Moselia felt a sense of safety with him by her side, like nothing could harm her as long as he was there.

As she browsed through the racks, Agent Ross stood watch, his eyes never leaving her face. Moselia couldn't help but sneak glances at him, her heart racing with excitement.

What was happening to her? She couldn't deny the feelings anymore. She was developing feelings for her bodyguard, and it scared her.

He watched her go to the clothing rack, staring delicately at a piece of fabric.

"Need some help" she immediately reversed and looked at him.

"No.. no.. what are you doing here, I said wait for me there"

His eyes swept past her to the object behind her and he smiled.

"The red one will definitely look the best on you"

He pointed at the lingerie behind her and smiled, then turned around to go back to his spot, leaving a flushed Moselia.

Moselia's face burned with embarrassment as she realized what Agent Ross had seen. She had been considering trying on a new lingerie set, but she hadn't expected him to notice.

She quickly grabbed the red set he had pointed out, her heart racing with excitement. No one had ever given her fashion advice before, especially not a man.

As she made her way to the dressing room, she couldn't help but wonder if Agent Ross was flirting with her. She had never seen him like this before, so playful and teasing.

When she emerged from the dressing room, Agent Ross was waiting for her, a knowing glint in his eye. "So, what do you think?" he asked, his voice low.

Moselia felt a flutter in her chest as she realized he was asking about the lingerie. She nodded, feeling a little shy. "It's perfect," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Agent Ross smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I knew it would be," he said, his voice full of confidence.

When they arrived at home, Moselia quickly dashed upstairs.

"Your bag" he called out.

Moselia turned around, her hair flying around her face. "Oh, thanks!" she called back, running down the stairs to grab her bag from Agent Ross.

As she took the bag from him, their hands touched, and Moselia felt a jolt of electricity run through her body. She looked up at Agent Ross, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.

Then, Moselia broke the gaze, feeling a little shy. "Thanks for today," she said, smiling. "I had fun."

Agent Ross smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Anytime, Moselia. I'll be here whenever you need me."

Moselia nodded, feeling a sense of safety and security wash over her. She knew that Agent Ross would always be there to protect her, but now she realized that he might be there for more than just protection.

As she turned to go back upstairs, Agent Ross called out again. "Moselia?"

She turned around, her heart beating a little faster. "Yeah?"

Agent Ross smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You look nice in red."

Moselia's face burned with embarrassment as she realized he was talking about the lingerie. She quickly turned around and ran upstairs, feeling a little flustered but also excited.

"ahhh" she screamed into her pillow.

She tried dialing Zayn's phone, wanting to ask him if he had a twin, but it couldn't connect and she was really worried, she dropped the phone and decided to go for a swim.

"I don't care what he thinks, this is my house, I won't be shy"

But that confidence quickly crumbled when she saw him relaxed on the chair outside overlooking the pool with a glass of wine and his eyes on her, a hint of teasing.

"I...I... I just wanted to swim" she didn't know why she was explaining to him.

"Don't let me stop you" his deep raspy voice sounded, sending gooseberry down her skin.

Moselia felt her face heat up as she realized Agent Ross was watching her. She tried to play it cool, but her voice trembled slightly as she spoke.

She quickly dove into the pool, trying to escape the intensity of his gaze. But as she swam, she could feel his eyes on her, burning into her skin.

When she finally emerged from the pool, Agent Ross was still watching her, a small smile playing on his lips. Moselia felt like she was melting under his gaze, her confidence crumbling.

As she walked towards him, water dripping from her hair and body, Agent Ross stood up, his eyes never leaving hers. "You're quite the swimmer," he said, his voice low and husky.

Moselia felt a shiver run down her spine as he handed her a towel. Their fingers touched, and she felt a spark of electricity.

"Thanks," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Agent Ross smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Anytime, Moselia. I'll always be here to...help."

Moselia's heart skipped a beat as she realized the double meaning behind his words. She felt like she was drowning in his gaze, unable to look away.

She immediately slipped and fell back into the pool.

"Moselia!" Agent Ross dashed in after her, his hand encircling her waist immediately to lift her upwards.

Moselia's heart raced as she felt Agent Ross's strong arms around her, lifting her out of the water. She coughed up water, her eyes locked on his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.

Agent Ross's face was inches from hers, his eyes burning with concern. "You okay?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

Moselia nodded, still trying to catch her breath. She felt his arms tighten around her, pulling her closer to his chest.

As they stood there, water dripping from their bodies, Moselia felt a sense of intimacy wash over her. She was acutely aware of Agent Ross's body pressed against hers, his warmth, his strength.

Suddenly, Agent Ross's eyes dropped to her lips, and Moselia's heart skipped a beat. She felt like he was going to kiss her, like time was standing still.

But then, he cleared his throat and looked away, releasing her from his grasp. "Let's get you dried off," he said, his voice gruff.

Moselia nodded, feeling a little disappointed, but also relieved. She didn't know what was happening between them.

She sat down as he attentively dried her long locks of hair.

She fiddled with her fingers as she knew he was concentrated, his body dripping with water.

"Uhm.. Ross?"

"Hm?"

"Take your clothes off" she said.

His actions paused as he looked at her with raised eyebrow.

"No, no, what I meant was it's wet, you... You.. mi.. might catch a cold" she shrank further Ike a cocoon.

Agent Ross's expression changed from surprise to amusement, and he chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Moselia, you're adorable when you're flustered," he said, his voice low and teasing.

He continued to dry her hair, his touch gentle and soothing. Moselia felt her face burn with embarrassment, but she couldn't help sneaking glances at him. His wet clothes clung to his body, accentuating his broad shoulders and chest.

"I'll take that into consideration," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I think I'll survive."

As he finished drying her hair, he stepped back, his eyes never leaving hers. Moselia felt like he could see right through her, like he knew all her secrets.

"Thanks," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Agent Ross smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Anytime, Moselia. Now, how about we get you changed into something dry?"

Moselia nodded, feeling a little shy, but also grateful for his kindness. As she stood up, Agent Ross offered his hand, helping her up from the chair. His touch sent shivers down her spine, and she knew she was in trouble. She was falling for her bodyguard, hard.
