Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

"where did you get that file from?? What did you see outside? Were my parents also super soldiers?" She said all at once

Ross held up his hands, trying to calm her down. "One question at a time, Mosi. I got the file from a trusted source within the government. As for what I saw outside...I saw men in black suits, lurking around the perimeter of the property. They're watching us, Mosi. They know you're here."

He took a deep breath before answering her final question. "As for your parents, it appears they were involved in the super soldier program even though not directly. They may have been working to protect you, to hide you from those who would exploit your abilities."

Moselia's mind was racing. She felt like her whole life had been turned upside down. She looked at Zayn, seeing the concern etched on his face.

"What does this mean?" she asked Ross, feeling a sense of desperation creeping in. "What do they want from me?"

Ross's expression turned grim. "They want to control you, Mosi. They want to use your abilities for their own purposes. We need to get you out of here, now. We need to go into hiding."

"so you're saying my parents were good people?? Then why were they trying to sell me off? To those evil people"

Ross's expression turned somber. "That's the thing, Mosi. Your parents weren't trying to sell you off. They were trying to protect you. The file suggests that they were working against the program, trying to sabotage it from the inside."

He paused, collecting his thoughts before continuing. "The people they were dealing with, the ones you thought they were trying to sell you to...they were actually double agents, working to take down the program from the outside. Your parents were trying to get you to safety, but it looks like they were betrayed."

Moselia's eyes widened in shock. "So, you're saying my parents were heroes?"

Ross nodded. "It looks that way, Mosi. They were trying to protect you, to save you from the program. We just need to figure out who betrayed them, and why."

She broke down immediately.

"The fire, are they still alive then?? I remembered them trying to escape"

She said , hoping they were.

Ross's expression was sympathetic, but his words were cautious. "Mosi, I'm so sorry. The file doesn't confirm whether they survived the fire or not. But it does suggest that they were trying to escape, just like you remembered."

Moselia's body shook with sobs as she clung to the hope that her parents might still be alive. Zayn wrapped his arms around her, holding her close as she cried.

"We'll find out, Mosi," Ross said, his voice firm. "We'll dig deeper, and we'll find out what happened to your parents. I promise."

Moselia nodded, still crying, as Zayn held her tight. She felt a glimmer of hope, a chance that her parents might still be alive. And with that hope, she knew she could face whatever came next.

"but it's also a good thing you did that, they were some back stabbers among them, also they didn't know but some of them were trying to divert, they wanted you for their own gain, we'll find them, they're still alive"

Ross said.

Moselia's tears slowed as she looked up at Ross, a mix of emotions on her face. "What do you mean? Who were trying to divert?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly.

Ross's expression turned grim. "There were some within the program who had their own agendas. They wanted to use you for their own gain, to exploit your abilities for their own purposes. But your parents, they were trying to protect you from them, to keep you safe."

Moselia's eyes widened as the truth began to sink in. "So, my parents were trying to save me from the people they were working with?"

Ross nodded. "Yes, Mosi. They were trying to save you from the people who would hurt you. And we'll find them, the ones who betrayed your parents. We'll make sure they pay for what they've done."

Zayn's grip on Moselia tightened, his eyes fixed on Ross. "We'll get them, Mosi. We won't let them get away with it."

Moselia took a deep breath, a sense of determination rising within her. She knew she had to see this through, to find the truth and bring justice to those who had hurt her and her parents.

Ross nodded swiftly, already moving towards the door. "I'll book the flight and arrange for a secure transport to the airport. We need to move, now."

Moselia stood up, her heart racing with anticipation and fear. She looked around the room, trying to think of what she needed to bring. Zayn grabbed her hand, pulling her towards the door.

"Come on, Mosi. We need to go," he said, his voice urgent.

Ross turned back to them, a small bag slung over his shoulder. "I've got the passports, cash, and a few essentials. Let's move."

As they rushed out of the house, Moselia caught a glimpse of black suits and cars surrounding the property. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized how close they were to being caught.

Zayn pulled her into a run, Ross leading the way as they sprinted towards the secure transport waiting for them. They jumped in, and the door slammed shut behind them, just as the black suits reached the door.

The transport sped away, leaving the danger behind, but Moselia knew this was only the beginning of their journey to safety.

As the transport navigated through the crowded streets, Moselia gazed out the window, her mind racing with thoughts of what lay ahead. She felt a sense of relief wash over her, knowing they had escaped the immediate danger, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that they were far from safe.

Zayn's hand found hers, his grip reassuring. "We'll get through this, Mosi," he whispered. "We'll find a way to clear your name and bring down those who are after us."

Ross, sitting across from them, nodded in agreement. "We have allies, Mosi. People who can help us. We just need to reach them."

The transport turned onto the highway, speeding towards the airport. Moselia's heart pounded with anticipation, knowing their journey was far from over. But with Zayn and Ross by her side, she felt a glimmer of hope. Together, they could face whatever lay ahead.

The moment we stepped into the plane, our hearts that were in our throat finally relaxed.

Zayn didn't use his private jet because he didn't know if they were already laying an ambush.

Up in the air on a public airline, nothing could happen right?

As the plane took off, Moselia felt a sense of relief wash over her. She gazed out the window, watching the ground below grow smaller and smaller, feeling like they were leaving their troubles behind.

Zayn, sitting beside her, took her hand, his eyes scanning the cabin as if searching for any potential threats. Ross, across the aisle, kept a watchful eye on the other passengers, his expression vigilant.

Moselia leaned into Zayn, feeling a sense of safety in his presence. "We're really safe now, right?" she whispered.

Zayn nodded, his voice low. "As safe as we can be. We'll lay low in the Caribbean, figure out our next move."

But just as they were starting to relax, the flight attendant's voice came over the intercom, her tone apologetic. "Ladies and gentlemen, we've been instructed to take a detour. Please fasten your seatbelts, we're experiencing some turbulence."

Moselia's heart skipped a beat as the plane hit an air pocket, dropping suddenly. Zayn's grip on her hand tightened, his eyes locked on hers. "What's going on?" she whispered, fear creeping back in.

Moselia's eyes widened in terror as she took in the scene before her. The five passengers, their faces cold and calculating, moved towards them with a synchronized precision.

Zayn instinctively pushed Moselia behind him, his eyes scanning the cabin for any possible escape or weapon. Ross stood shoulder to shoulder with Zayn, his eyes fixed on the armed passengers.

"We need to get out of here, now," Ross whispered, his voice urgent.

But it was too late. The armed passengers had them surrounded, their guns trained on the trio.

One of the passengers, a tall, imposing figure, stepped forward. "Moselia, you're coming with us," he growled.

"you dare not" Moselia said.

Immediately the aura around her changed.

"Arghhhh" she screamed and immediately they shot their guns towards her.

"Moselia!" Ross and Zayn screamed.

But then something shocking happened.

The bullets stopped halfway and was sent back to the shooters.

The cabin erupted into chaos as the bullets ricocheted back at the armed passengers, sending them crashing to the floor. Moselia's eyes blazed with an otherworldly intensity, her aura pulsating with an incredible force.

Ross and Zayn stared at her in awe, shocked by the sudden display of power. "Moselia, what's happening?" Ross whispered, his eyes fixed on her.

Moselia's voice was low and husky, her words dripping with an ancient authority. "I will not be harmed. I will not be taken."

The plane hit turbulence again, but this time it was as if the air itself was responding to Moselia's power. The oxygen masks dropped down, and the lights flickered ominously.

Zayn grabbed Moselia's hand, his eyes locked on hers. "We need to get out of here, now. We can't let them regroup."

Ross nodded, his gaze scanning the cabin for any signs of further danger. "The emergency exit. Now."

Together, the trio made a dash for the exit, Moselia's aura still pulsating with energy, as if daring anyone to stand in their way.

As they reached the emergency exit, Moselia's eyes flashed with determination. She grasped the handle and pulled it open, revealing a rush of wind and a dizzying view of the clouds below.

Zayn's eyes widened in alarm. "Moselia, we're 30,000 feet up! We can't just jump out!"

But Moselia's gaze was fixed on the sky. She raised her hands, and a shimmering light began to emanate from her fingers. The air around them seemed to thicken, taking on a life of its own.

Ross's eyes went wide. "What's she doing?"

Zayn shook his head, awestruck. "I don't know, but I think she's creating a portal!"

The light enveloped them, and Moselia stepped forward, pulling Zayn and Ross with her. Together, they leapt into the unknown, the plane disappearing into the distance as they plummeted towards the clouds.

Time seemed to slow as they fell, the clouds rushing up to meet them. Moselia's aura pulsed around them, a protective shield against the forces of gravity and air resistance.

Suddenly, they were enveloped in a soft, white mist. The sensation of falling ceased, replaced by a gentle floating feeling.

As the mist cleared, Moselia, Zayn, and Ross found themselves standing on a sandy beach, the turquoise ocean stretching out before them. Palm trees swayed in the breeze, and a warm sun shone down.

Zayn stumbled backwards, his eyes wide with wonder. "Where are we?"

Ross looked around, taking in their surroundings. "I don't know, but I think Moselia just teleported us to safety, this should be the island of the Caribbean, we made it"

Moselia smiled, her eyes still shining with an otherworldly energy.

But as they gazed out at the serene landscape, a faint hum began to build on the horizon. A dark shape was coming, cutting through the calm waters.

Their refuge was short-lived. Danger was already on its way.

"Mosi" Zayn said.

"What Was that you did?"

"I don't know, I could feel my brain waves, I don't know, a memory surfaced, I felt like I could do it"

"Guys we have to go!"

Ross's voice cut through the air, his eyes fixed on the dark shape approaching. "Whatever it was, Mosi, we can figure it out later. Right now, we need to move!"

Moselia nodded, her eyes still gleaming with an unnatural intensity. "I think I can do it again...get us out of here."

Zayn grabbed her hand, his eyes locked on hers. "Let's go, Mosi. We trust you."

Ross flanked her other side, his gaze scanning the horizon. "Whatever you did, Mosi, do it again. Now."

Moselia closed her eyes, her breathing slowing. The air around her began to shimmer once more, and a low hum filled the air.

The dark shape loomed closer, its intentions clear. But Moselia's power surged forward, enveloping them in a blinding light.

When the light faded, they found themselves standing in a dense jungle, the sounds of the rainforest surrounding them. They had escaped again, but for how long?

Moselia's eyes fluttered open, her gaze disoriented. Zayn and Ross stood on either side of her, their faces etched with concern.

"Mosi, are you okay?" Zayn asked, his voice low and urgent.

Moselia nodded, her breath coming in short gasps. "I...I think so. What happened?"

Ross scanned their surroundings, his hand on the knife at his belt. "You teleported us again. We're in a jungle now."

Moselia's eyes widened as she took in the dense foliage. "I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this. It's draining me."

Zayn's grip on her hand tightened. "We'll find a way to stop running, Mosi. We'll find a way to make you safe."

But as they stood there, the sounds of the jungle grew quieter. The trees seemed to lean in, as if listening. Moselia's skin prickled with unease.

"We're not alone," she whispered.

Ross's head snapped up, his eyes scanning the trees. "Get behind me," he growled.

But it was too late. Figures emerged from the shadows, their eyes fixed on Moselia with an unnerving intensity.

The figures closed in, their movements eerily synchronized. Moselia's heart raced as she realized they were surrounded. Zayn and Ross stood firm, ready to defend her, but they were outnumbered.

Suddenly, the figures halted, their gaze flicking to something behind Moselia. She turned to see a figure emerging from the trees, its presence commanding attention.

The figure stepped forward, revealing a woman with piercing green eyes and long, flowing hair. She regarded Moselia with a calculating gaze.

"Welcome, Moselia," the woman said, her voice dripping with an otherworldly accent. "I have been waiting for you."

Moselia's instincts screamed warning, but her body felt frozen in place. Zayn and Ross seemed entranced, unable to move.

The woman raised a hand, and Moselia felt a strange energy wash over her. "You possess a power that could change the course of history," the woman said. "And I will stop at nothing to claim it."

Moselia's mind reeled as the woman's words hung in the air, heavy with menace. She knew she had to act, but her body seemed paralyzed. The woman's eyes flashed with triumph, and Moselia knew she was running out of time...

"They are everywhere, I'm tired guys" she whispered

Zayn's eyes snapped back into focus, his gaze locking onto Moselia's exhausted face. "Mosi, no, don't give up," he whispered urgently, his voice barely audible over the sound of his own heartbeat.

Ross's eyes also cleared, his expression grim. "We won't let them take you, Mosi. We'll fight."

But Moselia's eyes seemed to hold a deep despair. "I've been running for so long...I don't know how much longer I can keep going."

The woman's laughter echoed through the jungle, sending shivers down their spines. "You can't escape forever, Moselia. And soon, you'll have no choice but to surrender."

Moselia's shoulders slumped, her body language screaming defeat. Zayn and Ross exchanged a desperate glance, knowing they had to act fast to save her. But as they stood there, frozen in uncertainty, the woman raised her hand, and everything went black.

Mosiela had held both of us(Zayn and Ross)

And we had suddenly disappeared.

The waving of the sands of the desert was what greeted us.

Immediately she fell to the floor, her body burning up.

Ross immediately carried her up.

"She's burning, we have to get her to safety now!"

Zayn's eyes were wide with panic as he stumbled alongside Ross, who was cradling Moselia's limp form in his arms. "Where are we going? We can't just leave her like this!"

Ross's face was set in a grim mask. "I saw an oasis in the distance, we have to get her there, now! She needs water, shade, and rest."

As they trudged through the sand, Moselia's body continued to smolder, her skin hot. Zayn felt a wave of nausea wash over him, but Ross's determination kept him moving.

Finally, they stumbled into the oasis, a lush haven of palm trees and crystal clear water. Ross gently laid Moselia down on the sand, and Zayn rushed to fetch water, pouring it over her burning skin.

Moselia's eyes flickered open, her gaze unfocused. "Zayn...Ross..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Zayn grasped her hand, his eyes welling up with tears. "We're here, Mosi. We're not going to leave you."

Ross stood watch, his eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of danger. "We need to get her out of here, find a way to reverse the effects of the teleportation."

But as they tended to Moselia's wounds, they knew they were running out of time. The desert was unforgiving, and Moselia's body was paying the price for her sacrifice.

Moselia slipped into unconsciousness again.

When she finally opened her eyes, she was on a soft bed, the room smelled of fresh flowers.

As she raised her throbbing head, she found a drip connected to her arm.

As she stood up, the door opened and Ross came in.

Immediately he pulled her into a tight hug.

Sniffing in her scent like he was obsessed.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again" he whispered into her neck.

She hugged him back too, burying herself in him.

"I'm sorry Ross"

Moselia's eyes welled up with tears as she hugged Ross tightly, feeling a mix of relief and exhaustion. She had never seen Ross so emotional, and it touched her heart to see him so vulnerable.

Zayn entered the room, a soft smile on his face. "Glad to see you're awake, Mosi. We were worried sick about you."

Moselia pulled back from Ross, her gaze meeting Zayn's. "Where are we?" she asked, her voice still weak.

"Egypt, you teleported us to Egypt, it seems no where is safe, not even jungle"

Moselia's eyes widened in shock. "Egypt? How did we...? I don't remember teleporting us here."

Ross's expression turned grim. "You were unconscious, Mosi. We didn't know where we were until we saw the pyramids outside."

Zayn nodded. "We're in a secure location, but we can't stay here for long. We need to figure out what's going on and why you're being hunted like that, and about you"

Moselia's mind reeled as she tried to process the events. "The woman in the jungle...she said something about my power..."

Ross's eyes locked onto hers. "What power, Mosi? What's going on?"

Moselia took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts. "I don't know...I just know I can do things...teleport, sense things...and people are after me because of it."

Zayn's expression turned determined. "We'll figure it out, Mosi. We'll keep you safe."

But as they spoke, the sound of footsteps echoed outside the room, growing louder. Ross's head snapped towards the door, his eyes narrowing.

"We have company," he whispered, his hand on the doorknob. "Stay here, Mosi. Zayn, get ready."

Immediately the door opened and Ross pointed his gun

"No no no wait, we're good people, we're not among them, promise"

A man and a few other men too entered the room with a lady.

"Ross, gun down, they're good people " I told him.

"Wow, so this is she " he exclaimed.

The man's eyes widened as he took in Moselia's appearance, his gaze filled with a mix of curiosity and awe. "You're the one they're calling 'number One'," he said, his voice filled with reverence.

Ross lowered his gun, his eyes still wary, but Moselia could see the tension in his body ease slightly. "Who are you?" he demanded.

The man smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm Dr. Samir, and these are my colleagues. We've been tracking your...exploits, Moselia. We believe we can help you understand and control your abilities."

Moselia's eyes narrowed, unsure of what to make of Dr. Samir's claims. But there was something about his warm smile and gentle manner that put her at ease.

Zayn stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Dr. Samir. "What do you know about Moselia's powers?"

Dr. Samir's smile grew wider. "We've been studying the phenomenon of teleportation and energy manipulation. We believe Moselia's abilities are connected to an ancient lineage, one that holds the key to unlocking new possibilities for humanity."

Moselia's mind reeled as she tried to process Dr. Samir's words. Could it be true? Was she really connected to something bigger than herself?

We finally went to their lab.

"I heard I was part of something bigger, a super soldier, and I've been experimented to become what I am, neuroscience, Brian waves, is that how I can do this things I can?"

She asked.

Dr. Samir nodded, his eyes shining with excitement. "Yes, Moselia, you are part of a top-secret program to create super soldiers using advanced neuroscience and brain wave manipulation. Your brain was enhanced with neural implants and genetic modifications to unlock your full potential."

Moselia's eyes widened as she took in the revelation. "So, it's true...I was experimented on?"

Dr. Samir hesitated before nodding. "I'm afraid so. But we're here to help you now. We want to understand and control your abilities, not exploit them."

Ross's face darkened. "What kind of experiments were done on her?"

Dr. Samir's expression turned somber. "I'm afraid the details are classified, but rest assured, we're committed to making things right."

Moselia felt a wave of anger and betrayal, but Zayn's gentle touch on her arm calmed her. "We're here for you, Mosi," he whispered.

Dr. Samir led them to a futuristic lab filled with brain wave scanners and neural interfaces. "We'll use this technology to understand and control your powers. Are you ready to begin?"

Moselia took a deep breath, determination burning within her. "Let's do this."

"what's this neural implants, and genetic modification"

Ross asked as he came beside Moselia.

Dr. Samir gestured to a holographic display projecting an image of Moselia's brain. "The neural implants are tiny devices inserted into Moselia's brain to enhance her cognitive abilities, such as memory, attention, and processing speed. They also allow us to monitor and control her brain wave activity."

Ross's eyes narrowed. "And the genetic modifications?"

Dr. Samir hesitated before explaining, "Genetic engineering was used to introduce specific genes that enhance Moselia's physical abilities, such as strength, agility, and reflexes. These genes also enable her to interface directly with technology using her brain waves."

Moselia's eyes widened as she stared at the hologram. "You mean, I'm not entirely human anymore?"

Dr. Samir's expression turned somber. "You are still human, Moselia, but with...augmentations. These modifications were meant to make you a superior soldier, but they also came with unforeseen consequences, such as your teleportation ability."

Zayn's voice was laced with concern. "What other consequences?"

Dr. Samir's eyes darted nervously around the room. "We're still discovering them. But rest assured, we'll do everything to help Moselia control her powers and live a normal life."

"What gene did they mix with mine?" She asked

Dr. Samir's expression turned grave. "The gene that was introduced into your DNA is...avian and some... Others"
