Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 Testing the Waters

Li Xiaoqiang sat in the interrogation room, and a ferocious police officer took notes. Ten minutes later, this burly officer said coldly, "You've got quite the nerve for a student. Xiao Wang, lock him up in the observation room for now. We'll discuss further after the victim has given their statement."

Then, a young police officer escorted Li Xiaoqiang along the corridor toward the observation room.

Just as Li Xiaoqiang passed a door marked 'Detective Room,' a flurry of panicked voices came from inside, "Quick, quick, take him to the hospital! Director Xiao is having an emergency; I can't do anything more."

Li Xiaoqiang glanced through the doorway to see a young man in a white lab coat pressing his fingers against the acupoint "Ren Zhong" on the forehead of a middle-aged man in police uniform. The middle-aged man was frothing at the mouth and convulsing.

The officers nearby, hearing the medical staff's shout, hurriedly reached out to lift the man, but Li Xiaoqiang frowned and yelled, "Don't move him, or he'll really die."

The officers, hearing Li Xiaoqiang's words, quickly pulled back their hands, all looking towards the door. Li Xiaoqiang rushed into the Detective Room. The officers, reacting as you'd expect, raised their guns and aimed them at Li Xiaoqiang, saying coldly, "You dare cause trouble in the police station? Get down!"

Li Xiaoqiang, looking at the convulsing middle-aged officer on the table, said anxiously, "I'm a medical student. If you want to save his life, don't delay; otherwise, he will die within five minutes, guaranteed."

The young doctor in the white lab coat sneered, "You think you can help? Humph! Don't listen to him, hurry and take Director Xiao to the hospital."

The officers hesitated, as if they could be blamed if Director Xiao died in the process of moving him; no one wanted to take that responsibility. They dared not take the risk!

At that moment, the young police officer who was escorting Li Xiaoqiang to the observation room spoke up, "Let him try. He's a student from the Jinnan University School of Medicine."

Hearing this, the officers put away their guns, stepped aside, and made way for Li Xiaoqiang to treat the patient.

The School of Medicine at Jinnan University was renowned in Huaxia Country - they had produced numerous medical experts and professors, with some even winning the Nobel Prize in Medicine. They've done a few clinical medical research projects that gained substantial government support. Immediately, the officers' perception of Li Xiaoqiang changed.

Li Xiaoqiang walked up to the middle-aged officer, flipped his eyelids, and saw they were filled with bloodshot lines. He turned towards the doctor in the white coat and asked, "Do you have acupuncture needles?"

The young doctor replied coldly and reluctantly, "Yes!"

After saying that, he handed his medical kit to Li Xiaoqiang, who quickly took out the acupuncture needles, selecting several of varying thickness. He slowly inserted them into the police officer's Baihui, Taiyang, Danzhong, Jiawei, Qihai, and Rugen acupoints. As Li Xiaoqiang gently rotated the needles, the middle-aged officer's convulsions stopped, and his ghastly pale complexion began to regain color.

As Li Xiaoqiang rotated the needles, he said, "This officer has chronic ailments, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, on top of a recent cold, and an overdose of medication led to his sudden collapse. If you had moved him rashly, he might not have made it out of the police station."

By then, the Detective Room was filled with people, all looking at Li Xiaoqiang with admiration. They whispered their praises, marveling at how such a young man could possess such profound medical skills; he was a future medical sage.

The officers who had been about to move Director Xiao felt a chill on their backs, filled with hindsight fear. Their eyes hovered over the young doctor in the white coat, now wearing a face of scorn.

The young doctor's face burned with embarrassment, a hot red mixed with purple, as if he had been harshly slapped several times.

Ten minutes later, the middle-aged man regained consciousness. His eyes, still hazy, scanned the room. Seeing Li Xiaoqiang still turning the acupuncture needles, he gratefully said, "Thank you, young man, for your help. I really appreciate it."

Li Xiaoqiang responded with a slight smile, "Director Xiao, a doctor has a duty akin to a parent's care. There's no need for thanks. You need to rest; most of your conditions are due to overwork. Please take care in the future. Also, I will prescribe you a traditional Huaxia medicine. Write this down for Director Xiao."

Li Xiaoqiang continued, "Two portions of Jing Jie Sui, one portion of Ephedra, one gram of tangerine peel, five grams of Chuan Xiong, three grams of Bai Shao, one portion of Lian Qiao, five portions of Licorice, and three grams of Bai Zhu. Fry them until they turn light yellow, take three small bowls in the morning, afternoon, and evening for one month. If Director Xiao feels an improvement, I will prescribe a different prescription."

As Li Xiaoqiang rattled off the prescription, all the policemen in the Detective Room gave him a thumbs-up, impressed by his proficiency at such a young age - he was clearly no ordinary person.

When Li Xiaoqiang was about to remove the needle from Director Xiao's Taiyang acupoint, a flash of surprise flickered across his eyes as he clearly saw a blue stream of energy emerging from his fingertips, entering Director Xiao's head.

Using the Mysterious Fate Technique described in Mysterious Spirit Eye, Li Xiaoqiang examined the officer's internal condition and saw that his ailment had slightly improved. Astonished, he thought, "Could the Mysterious Fate Technique actually aid medical treatment?"

With this thought, Li Xiaoqiang wanted to confirm it, so he said to Director Xiao, "I learned a bit of massage from my grandfather when I was young; it's quite effective for relieving fatigue. Why don't you give it a try, Director Xiao?"

Director Xiao, now knowing Li Xiaoqiang's name, smiled and said, "Then I'll trouble you, little Li."

Li Xiaoqiang massaged Director Xiao's temples, letting a stream of blue energy flow into his body. Indeed, it had a healing effect, similar to how wounds healed. Didn't that imply that Li Xiaoqiang could restore the health of patients with diseases even some experts couldn't cure?
