"Shu Jie, did you want to see me about something?"
He probably knew the answer to that, considering that he had left a note asking to be contacted, but he didn't call yesterday. There really was no time, but okay, there's always an excuse.
"Nothing much."
Shu Jie wasn't on a day off today, but the Special Duty Team had not assigned her any tasks, especially after Su Sheng's return, which she found quite strange.
"Alright, I'm really busy now. Let's meet up this afternoon."
There was no escaping it; and besides, why should he hide? They had a clear and honest friendship, entangled at worst with a bet about a child. Fair is fair, uh.
"Sure, I'll contact you in the afternoon."
Shu Jie wasn't being unreasonable. That Su Sheng agreed to meet was already good enough. But isn't her duty to protect this man? Why does it seem like she needs to make a private arrangement just to see him?
