Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Iceberg CEO's Wife

Jun Du Villa, halfway up the hill.

The sun was already high when Su Sheng finally came downstairs, only to unexpectedly encounter his wife in name. The most famous beauty CEO of the entire Handong region had unusually stayed at home.

Dressed in a smart business suit, Zijun wore a white shirt, a classic black and white combination. Even seated there, her perfect figure was hard to conceal.

Her beauty too, seemed almost heavenly, ethereal and unreal, flawless from every angle.

Unfortunately, she was too cold, as cold as an iceberg, a mere glance from her could extinguish all the fire in one's heart.

"Why haven't you left yet?"

Su Sheng shook his tousled hair, his voice indifferent, but his gaze swept past her chest with a fleeting sharpness. Uh, she was wearing a light-colored lace bra today—this woman really knew how to match.

Zijun sat on the sofa with a cold expression, enduring her disgust. "Su Sheng, it's been three months, are you planning to just loaf around and wait for death?"

"You're right, I plan to loaf around and wait for death. After all, I could never spend all the money you make in eight lifetimes."

At this point, Su Sheng sat down on the opposite sofa and took out his phone to play with. This woman couldn't stand the sight of him, and the feeling was mutual. Their marriage had been doomed from the start.

Zijun crossed her arms, her knuckles whitened from the pressure. She was at her breaking point, but there was nothing she could do about this nominal husband, a hopeless case.

"You're not a man at all, just a spineless coward."

"What a joke. Other women say I'm a real man. You wouldn't understand since you've never tried. Want me to prove it to you now? I'm free anyway."

Su Sheng's gaze suddenly filled with aggression, reminiscent of a hungry wolf.

"You shameless man!"

Slap!

Zijun threw a card onto the coffee table, her voice icy. "There's a million in the card, your allowance for this month. Don't forget to come back early tonight to visit my grandfather."

"I'll take the card, but I'm not free tonight."

Su Sheng deftly picked up the bank card and then headed for the door, who had time to play with an iceberg you could look at but not touch.

"Su Sheng!"

Zijun suddenly stood up, pointing at him. But the man decisively turned around, wearing just a pair of worn denim jeans and a wrinkled shirt, and left without looking back, not even bothering to change out of his slippers.

Soon after, the sound of the car engine starting could be heard from the garage, and just like that, he was gone.

No hope left, this man was truly beyond redemption.

Finally unable to contain herself, Zijun threw seven or eight things in a tantrum before she gradually calmed down. Looking at the mess on the floor, she sighed silently. In the end, it was she who had to clean up.

That man was incredibly lazy, wouldn't even bother to pick up a broom if it fell over. His daily appearance was unkempt, his sense of dress worse than an average person, shameless and brazen, a freeloader, and he wouldn't listen to advice.

Zijun couldn't find even a single redeeming feature in Su Sheng. She had tried to reform him, maybe resigned herself to it over time, but it was no use; the man was hopeless, and she was near madness.

Su Sheng held the steering wheel in one hand and a cigarette in the other, his shirt cuffs rolled up at some point, exposing his muscular forearms.

Passing by the roadside, a bank card flew from the car window and accurately landed in a trash can.

A person like him would never use a woman's money.

About half an hour later, he drove into an antique-looking villa neighborhood, entered a manor, and met an elderly man with white hair sunbathing.

"What's the matter, did Zijun quarrel with you again?" The old man's face bore a smile.

Su Sheng forced a bitter smile but gave no answer, silently stepping forward to retrieve a wooden box.

Upon opening it, inside were rows of silver needles. He picked out three and with a swift hand, inserted them into the old man's head, gently twirling the ends of the needles.

After a while, the old man let out a long breath, his spirit greatly revived, and he laughed again, "Your medical skills are much better than your father's."

"He doesn't know," Su Sheng shook his head.

Children wish to support their parents, but their parents may not be there to be supported. No matter how heavenly his medical skills, his father already passed away from illness, never knowing that his skills had long surpassed his own. This remained his greatest regret.

He also blamed himself for being too rebellious, too sharp, too unruly in the past. Now, all he could do for his late father was to fulfill his last wish by marrying an "Iceberg" of a wife, who was also the granddaughter of the elder before him.

"You, you are just too stubborn, just like your dad when he was young. You say you're so capable, yet every time Zijun sees me, she grumbles that you're a 'lump of mud' and wants a divorce from you."

Although the old man said this, his face still held a smile. He was very satisfied with this son-in-law. Years ago, he and an old buddy arranged a marriage for their children, and by the time his friend had a son, he already had a granddaughter, making a perfect match—it was fate.

As for talk of divorce, that was absolutely impossible. The elder knew Su Sheng's temperament well— even if one day he was no longer there, that marriage would not end.

"Heh heh!" Su Sheng chuckled.

The old man continued, "Shengzi, you've had enough rest, right? How about finding something to do at the corporation, help Zijun out. It's not easy for a woman to manage a corporation all by herself."

"We'll see. As for you, uncle, please take good care of your health. I dare not promise more, but extending your life by five years wouldn't be tough for me."

Su Sheng pulled out the silver needles and placed them back into the box. He had this confidence, even if the old man was in the twilight of his life, he could still prolong it.

"Five years, that's too much, it would be enough for me to live to see a great-grandchild. That would be sufficient for this lifetime," the elder expressed wistfully. His son had passed away early in an accident, leaving behind only one granddaughter. Now with a satisfactory grandson-in-law, he felt as if he had gained a son in his old age.

Yet this stubborn son-in-law had not yet come to his full potential. But he guessed, he wouldn't have to wait too long!

"Okay, uncle, I'm going now. I won't be coming tonight."

"About that, Shengzi, the matter of finding work at the corporation I mentioned earlier, please take it to heart. You wouldn't want Zijun to be bullied at the company, right? After all, she's your wife, and that can't be changed," the elder thought simply, believing that once Su Sheng joined the company, as a true talent, he wouldn't be able to hide his brilliance.

"She, my wife? She even said before that I'm not a real man, heh, I'm leaving."

Su Sheng left just like that, but those words stuck deep in his heart.

In the past, how strong and iron-willed he was on the battlefield, a king among men, yet ridiculously, his own wife had accused him of not being a real man. That woman was beyond hope.

That night, Su Sheng truly didn't return home. He turned off his mobile phone and sat alone in a bar. It wasn't so much about drowning sorrows in alcohol as it was not knowing what else to do.

Since demobilizing from the military, faced with his father's death and begrudgingly marrying a CEO "Iceberg" wife!

Just waiting around to die? Maybe it wasn't such a bad option!

"Hello, do you mind if I sit here? I'll buy you a drink."

Su Sheng looked up and was startled for a moment. He had been coming to bars for days now, and not just any woman hitting on him— even the unattractive ones were repelled by his dejected aura.

So why was it that today the sun rose from the west, and a beautiful woman was offering to buy him a drink?

"Granite!"

Su Sheng snapped his fingers and with his head tilted, scrutinized the woman who had suddenly appeared.

She wore a simple, loose T-shirt with a knot tied at the naval, exposing her fair midriff. The shorts below were as short as they could possibly be.

The key was that this woman was quite attractive, and the necklace she wore around her neck was no ordinary piece. Such a woman should not have been appearing by his side.
