An expression of surprise surfaced on the face. Blake opened his eyes wide and stood there in a daze. I opened my arms wide and hugged his back tightly. The rapid heartbeat sounds coming from beside my ears, now it's indistinguishable which one belongs to whom.
"This might also be arrogance."
I held his back tightly. He let out a small laugh and at the same time held my body even tighter. A gentle voice brushed past my ear as he stroked my hair. Then, his fingertip slowly moved downward like combing through it and gently cupped my cheek.
"It somehow feels like being proposed to. It's quite thrilling."
"Proposed, proposed to or something like that."
Hearing unexpected words, I couldn't help but look up and saw his extremely gentle gaze looking down at me. But there was also a hint of mischievousness in those eyes. I unconsciously frowned.
"Don't joke around."
"I'm not joking."
"You're really sly."
