Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 The elusive Paul

The sky was clear, and white clouds drifted leisurely in the air.

I sat on the chair by the window, looking out the window blankly. However, looking at such an unchanged scenery all the time, to be honest, I would gradually feel bored. I sighed and turned my gaze to the interior, seeing Aaron's busy figure.

"Unexpectedly, he's quite serious."

The yellow head was usually particularly noticeable, and now it was even more prominent. However, I had no intention of helping at all, because someone told me that just watching was fine, and there was no need to help. I wasn't that kind.

"At such times, girls are easier to order around and more relaxing."

However, when our eyes met inadvertently, the few girls gathered together would inexplicably get excited.

"But it's troublesome."

If it was that person who blushed, I would definitely find it cute —.

"What am I thinking about."

I imagined that scene, shook my head, and let out a light sigh.

"Okay, okay, put this in place."

Suddenly, Aaron's voice brought my consciousness back.

On the square long table, several small plates had been placed at some point, and the dishes inside could be held with just one hand. These colorful dishes were amazing, and the atmosphere in the conference room was too harmonious.

"Is it for this that we gathered during the lunch break?"

Looking at these dishes, I couldn't help but sigh.

The summons during the lunch break. This time it was for the tasting of the dishes used to entertain the guests, right. It's really troublesome for the executive committee to do such things. If it continues like this, I don't know how many more times we will be summoned.

Now, the third-year executive committee and student council members are all gathered in this conference room. The first and second-year students are responsible for planning the school anniversary activities, and considering that they have many things to do, the third-year students mainly take on the reception work that doesn't require too much time to prepare. Rather than going to all this trouble, I can't help thinking that it would be better to simply not let us participate.

"Teacher, have you had lunch? I hope you don't eat dry food anymore."

I suddenly thought of that figure and couldn't help but 苦笑起来 (I'm not sure what "苦笑起来" means exactly, maybe "give a wry smile" or "force a bitter smile"). I looked out the window and turned my gaze towards the direction of the preparation room, but from here, it was a blind spot and I couldn't see anything.

"I should have known better than to run away."

Thinking of my Lose composure in the morning, my head started to ache. I felt someone looking at me, and when I looked up, I found him staring at me. But I subconsciously turned my head away.

Since then, I haven't contacted him and don't know what to say to start a conversation. So I wanted to calm down a bit more and have a good talk when my mood settled down. However, the only lunch break where I could have a leisurely chat was borrowed, which was completely unexpected.

I couldn't help but let out a deep sigh.

"Why? In broad daylight, sighing so loudly."

"..."

Suddenly, a bottle of tea beverage appeared in front of my eyes. When I noticed it, I turned my head and saw a man standing there with a smile, the corners of his mouth raised. He was the culprit who caused me to sigh, the student council president Paul.

Paul seemed to be waiting for my reaction. He brushed aside his light brown long hair that covered his face and looked down at me.

"Take it."

If I continued to ignore the beverage bottle swaying in front of my eyes, its bottom would hit my forehead. Reluctantly, I took the drink, and Paul made a squeaky noise as he dragged out a folding chair and sat across from me.

There was a commotion around.

"What are you looking at? Mr. Ben?"

Paul followed my gaze and narrowed his eyes happily. I snorted at his expression and kicked the toe of the man who was laughing in front of him.

"You're still so impatient. In front of that person, you just grin like an idiot."

Paul didn't care about being kicked and crossed his legs while relaxing the corners of his mouth. This time I kicked the leg of the chair. The slightly lifted chair made a clanging sound on the floor.

Hearing the sound, the people in the room turned around in surprise.

"I still prefer you like this."

"You're crazy."

I narrowed my eyes at Paul, who was smiling, and there was another commotion around. No, what was strange was the reaction of the girls present. They watched our interaction from a distance and were extremely happy. I didn't understand what was so fun at all.

"You don't understand. Blake is not tsundere, but more like a ghost..."

I waved the upside-down beverage bottle towards Paul's forehead, who was chuckling at the girls' conversation. The dull sound of the plastic denting overlapped with Paul's laughter.

"Don't talk nonsense with inexplicable words."

"This is the truth, right. I've seen you get angry before, but I've never seen you shy. However, now you are very shy in front of that person."

"Shut up. What do you want me to do?"

I looked at him with an annoyed gaze, and Paul, suppressing his laughter, trembled his shoulders. This man just likes to tease people like this.

"Don't be so angry. It's strange that you can get along so well with the teacher without showing any flaws. However, I'm relieved that you haven't changed much. Where are you going?"

I suddenly stood up, and Paul instantly grabbed my arm.

"Back."

I shook off the grabbed arm and frowned. Paul also stood up and looked at me.

"It's not over yet."

"What do you want?"

Although the student council is leading this time, I don't understand the meaning of Aaron's half-threatening invitation for me to join the executive committee. At least this man should know that I don't have time after school.

Looking at Paul tilting his head and smiling happily, I couldn't help but let out a deep sigh. He has always been a willful person, and his words and actions are still as unpredictable as ever.

"No, rather than saying what he wants to do, it's probably because you are too serious, so I'm a bit reluctant to let you go."

"Ah?"

I unconsciously frowned at his rather confusing answer.

"I don't remember having any place that makes you reluctant to let me go."

"Yeah."

Paul answered easily and laughed. However, he suddenly raised his hand, grabbed my face, and stroked my cheek. Seeing the corners of his mouth raised, there were small screams around.

"Your face has returned to normal."

"This is my normal face."

"You're lying. You usually don't have such a scary face."

I brushed away Paul's hand that was still touching my face, and he giggled happily again. His expression made my temples tremble uncontrollably. I slowly grabbed Paul's arm and forcefully opened the window.

"You, just roll out of the window."

"Don't look at me with such a scary expression. You really will do it."

Paul looked at me, shrank his shoulders, leaned against the railing to prevent falling, and sat on the edge of the window.
