tring... tring...
the phone which was kept on the dining table starts ringing and as for the owner of the phone.... Leena
she is busy in humming some song and shaping her favourite cookies into heart shape, she stopped humming turns her head in the direction of the phone when she hears the ringtone of her phone, by the ringtone she knew it is some important reminder. She sighs, washes her hand and wipe them on her cute puppy printed apron and keeps the baking tray in oven for the cookies to bake with a timer she mutters to herself.. 'It better be important reminder' as it broke the peaceful moment she is having.
She goes towards the dining table to check her phone only to see a reminder....
reminder - two days to divorce🥳🎉
She was stunned is an understatement to express what she feels at that moment because it completely flew out of her mind. she didn't know how the time flew this fast. She remembered as it was yesterday that how happily she kept the reminder a year ago for her future freedom after the divorce. The feelings of excitement, happiness and eagerness she felt towards this divorce when she set the reminder...
but, we couldn't spot that emotions in her eyes, instead there is a sense of loss
The same feelings she felt in the past seemed to be vanished into the thin air as she is now only feeling a sense of panic of loosing something or someone in her heart. She doesn't feel happy at all thinking about divorce that to in 2 days. She doesn't know how the nervous, unwilling, forced feelings towards this marriage changed into comfortable, memorable and heartful being with him..... her husband Aaron
"May be he is also feeling the same about us and may be he also don't want the divorce now -may be not - Arhhh I'll just find out about that once I talk to him"
She comes out from the trance with the sound of oven indicating her cookies are ready.
"perfect time I'll just take them with me"
She goes to the kitchen and take them out from the oven and keep the tray on the kitchen slab, she gives them time to cool and goes to her bedroom to get ready to go to his office
after half an hour she goes to the kitchen and takes a nice pink coloured heart shaped box which she ordered for her brother birthday to pack him some chocolates....
she carefully packs what she feels as perfect from the batch of cookies into that box and closes it.. she ties a ribbon around it in a bow to give it a gift like appearance at the end of tying she felt her fingers tremble due to the excitement she is feeling and the numerous what if's as she plays different scenarios of what might happen in her head...
She shakes her head and takes a deep breath to get rid of all the thoughts and for the last time she checks the box and caress it before keeping it in her handbag.
at the parking lot of a huge building with a name of white enterprises one of the top enterprises in the country
Leena alighted from the car and locks it before entering the lobby of the building, she clutches her handbag tightly due to the nervousness she is feeling right now and move towards the reception.
The receptionist sees and greets her
"good morning ma'am "
"good morning, where is he?"
"sir is in the cabin ma'am"
she thanks the receptionist and goes towards his office at the 3rd floor from the top of the building as the top two floors have a nice pent house with the nice view of city.
as she went near the cabin she hears some voices and thought 'the receptionist didn't said anything about a meeting' as she steps forward the conversation so the voice of two people becomes clear and she recognize as one is of her husband and other female voice seemed familiar..
Leena slowly pushes the door to see who is that.. she recognized her as Lily the female friend in his group and she seemed to like Aaron from the hateful gazes she passes whenever she sees Leena. She is now standing very close to Aaron.
she hears Lily- "I know Aaron you married her just because of your grandfather and you don't like her"
she tightened her grip on the door handle and waited for Aaron to say otherwise or retort her or try to keep a distance from Lily but to her dismay he remained silent
Lily -" And I also know you are gonna get divorced soon and this marriage is just a convenience and an agreement thats all it matters nothing to you....."
nothing to you.... she didn't hear anything after that and she started walking in a daze to the reception
'May be its just me who felt something in this marriage, he only treats me as a friend.. He already has plans after the divorce, He broke the rule in the agreement as to not disclose it to any third person... He is really into her..'
she felt her tears falling on her cheeks as she dazedly keeps the box in her hand at the nearby table and started walking out of the office...
maybe the sky felt her emotions its raining outside drenching her and hiding her tears....
