Queen Sonia showed a sign of pity and she said "perhaps,we should show mercy your majesty, after all he's still your son she said,
"Mercy, you say and what son, he got witch blood running through his veins"
A counselor spit out " he still an illegitimate son.
The King's beta then stood up and said "execute him your majesty, he's a danger to our stability.
"Yes, your Majesty Queen silver chimes in, "he's a disrespectful child and also a threat to our Kingdom, he will bring rebellion and chaos to our peaceful land.
The room falls into a heated debate with some advocating for leniency and others demanding for Ian's death.
The King's face darkens as a listens. Finally, he slams his fist on the table before him, making everyone quiet. "Enough, I have heard enough, the majority has spoken, Ian will be executed next week alongside with the other criminals for his treachery.
Queen Silva smiled triumphantly and said "the kingdom will be safe without him" the council members nodded in agreement. Their faces filled with a mix feeling of relief and disdain for Ian. The King's decision is final. Then the King wrote a degree and it was passed round the Kingdom.
After Ian's death was declared the new spread like wildfire all over the palace and even the kingdom at large. It hurt some, while others rejoiced, it didn't take long before Israel went to mock Ian as a prison cell.
Prison,
Israel sneers, as the enters Ian prison cell.
Well, well, well, look who's facing consequences of their action. Ian weakened by hunger and thirst looks up with anger and despair "what do you want this time" he asked
"Well I just came to taunt you" Israel replied as his voice filled with scorn. You are going to be executed next week alongside with the other criminals. Ha, I told you, your death would come soon. Ian snorts and said "you are just trying to get under my skin Israel, and guess what, it's not going to work.
Israel chuckles and said "watch and see Ian your death has been sealed and as for your precious mother, she can't save you now, can she, oh wait, she's already dead, isn't she. "Leave my mother out of this" Ian's eyes flashed with anger.
Israel laughed, oh sorry, I forgot she's gone. Well, it's a good thing you'll be joining her soon, you can even have a family reunion at the grave, how's that? He continued and said, and soon you'll be nothing but a memory. With one final glance Israel takes his turn and leaves, letting Ian lie in pain at the mention of his mother.
But little did Ian know, fate has a surprise in store for him.
In Queen Sonia's room,
Queen Sonia's eyes darted round her chambers ensuring they were alone she beckoned to a trusted lady in waiting "Elara come closer, I have a task for you.
Elara approached curiosity etched on her face "your Majesty" she replied
The Queen's voice dropped to a whisper "Ian's execution has been set for next week and I can't let it happen, I need to ensure his escape.
Elara's eyes widened but she nodded with resolutely "I am yours to command your majesty"
Queen Sonia handed Elara a small map, "take this, using this map you will know the route they'll take for the execution.
Elara took the map from her and said "it shall be done your majesty" the Queen's eyes locked onto Elara's eyes she said "remember, this must remain a secret, no one must know about this Elara nodded understanding the gravity of the task.
