3rd person

Early on a Friday morning in a run down apartment building a human slept in their bed surrounded by melted ice-cream and other junk food, unaware that she had slept through her alarm for the 2nd time this week. She had a reason for all of this though, she was going through a terrible breakup, her boyfriend of the past 2 years had been cheating on her and today would have been their anniversary.

Again the alarm starting blaring again, this time managing to wake up the human the slept next to it. Slowly she woke up before turning the alarm off and just laying there staring into space for what felt like hours but was really just a second or two. Turning to her side she looked at the time and noticed it was 6:15 this caused her eyes to open wider than she though possible. Quickly she got out of her bed and as she did she touched the melted ice-cream her hand and looked at the mess she had made.

Deciding to tidy it later she jumped into the shower before getting dressed for work. Grabbing her bag and making her way to the front door and leaving the apartment. Before shutting the door she double checked that she had everything she needed. Once checked she shut the door and started running towards the stairs, once there she took her time making her way down, she had slipped one too many times. Upon arriving at the bottom floor she made her way to the exit only to be stopped by her landlord who was a 50 something year old man named Cain. Scarlet absolutely despised this man.

"Your rents late Scarlet, I want it by the end of the day or your out of this building tomorrow" Cain said without a hello.

"I'll get you money by the end of the day. I promise" replied Scarlet taking a deep breathe due to the excessive movement she had done today.

"you know you could always pay me in other ways." Cain had said while licking his lips and looking into Scarlets eyes. 

Having enough Scarlet just left she was already in a bad mood and Cain had just made it worse. Sighing Scarlet made her way to the bus stop. Upon arriving at the stop she pulled her phone out of her pocket to check the time and to see when the next bus would arrive only to discover that the next one wasn't for another 10 minutes. 

Needing to sit down Scarlet walked the bench and started watching the cars drive past, occasionally counting how many cars drove past. Minutes later the bus arrived, boarding the bus Scarlet headed for the back of it, she enjoyed the seclusion the rear of the bus gave. Sitting in the Dust covered seats was not something she enjoyed but it was better than walking to work. 

Just before the bus arrived at her stop Scarlet pressed the stop button, and got up and started walking to the front and waited. Seconds later the bus stopped and Scarlet got off and started walking the rest of the way to work.

Scarlet worked as a receptionist at a hotel. The job didn't give any benefits and she really disliked the job, but she didn't hate it. If she hated it she would have left months ago. The pay was the only thing she enjoyed about the job but even then she was still only getting paid minimum wage.

Opening the door to the hotel Scarlet headed to the staffroom to put her stuff in her locker before taking a deep breathe and walking back out to the reception to do her job. However when she reached her seat she was annoyed to find her boss sitting there waiting for her. 

"Scarlet your late, for what reason and what should I do about it?" Asked Mr Hill while looking unimpressed that she was late.

"I don't know sir, I wasn't trying to be late or anything, I just missed my bus and I'm not sure what you mean sir" Answered Scarlet looking down at her boss who was still sat in her seat.

"well put it this way I'm thinking of terminating you for being late do you know unprofessional that is, how do you feel about that?" Quizzed Mr Hill getting up out of the chair and staring at her.

A few seconds go by before Scarlet answers. "please sir I really need this job, I'm barely making ends meet at the moment how am I meant to find another job if you do?" Scarlet pleaded while looking up at Mr Hill.

"well I still want you gone, so clean your desk and your locker and leave your id badge in your locker. Declared Mr Hill who was walking away from Scarlet and heading towards the Elevator. 

Scarlet stood still for a few seconds before reality kicked back in and she sank to the floor tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
