"Wait!" Eula hastily called out to Lin Feng, her cheeks slightly flushed as she murmured softly, "I... I'm not sick; it's just that time of the month!"
As she spoke, it seemed to exhaust all her strength, beads of cold sweat appearing on her forehead.
"That..." Lin Feng muttered, finally comprehending the situation - it was Aunt Flo's visit.
He quickly laid Eula flat on the bed and headed towards the kitchen.
Eula, curled up in pain, watched Lin Feng's hurried movements with a faint smile.
Suddenly, a cacophony of clanging sounds erupted from the kitchen, causing her smile to vanish instantly. Ah, Lin Feng remained unchanged.
Lin Feng spent a hefty sum by exchanging points with the system for a pack of brown sugar, then diligently set about boiling it. Fortunately, his expertise in instant noodles proved helpful, allowing him to easily adapt to preparing brown sugar water.
Soon, Lin Feng carefully carried a steaming bowl of brown sugar water to Eula's bedside.
"Little Eula, wake up and drink this..." Lin Feng smiled gently, helping Eula sit upright.
Eula's face contorted with pain; it was unbearable when the cramps struck.
Lin Feng helped Eula sit up against him, then spooned some brown sugar water, gently blew on it to cool it down. After checking its temperature with his lips, he finally fed it to Eula.
She slowly opened her mouth and took a small sip. Her cheeks flushed slightly, feeling as if she were still dreaming.
The drink was sweet and provided a comforting warmth.
"How does that feel? Better now?" Lin Feng asked with a smile after feeding Eula half of the bowl. He could already see a slight improvement in her demeanor, as her furrowed brows had relaxed somewhat.
"Mm-hmm..." Eula softly responded, opening her mouth again while looking at Lin Feng.
Lin Feng smiled warmly and continued feeding her until the entire bowl of brown sugar water was finished.
After drinking it, Eula comfortably lay back in bed, feeling utterly content. In the past, all she could do alone was sip warm water and huddle in a corner, enduring the pain.
Following a brief rest, Eula attempted to get up, intending to join the garrison squad for their patrol.
"What are you getting up for? Stay lying down!" Lin Feng quickly approached and gently pushed Eula back onto the bed.
"I need to check on the garrison squad; they're all new recruits!" Eula shook her head, emphasizing her duty as a knight.
"It's freezing outside, and going out will only worsen your pain. You won't be able to help them at all!" Lin Feng looked at Eula, slightly agitated.
"That's none of your concern!" Eula stubbornly lifted her chin, asserting her responsibilities as a knight.
"Your life is mine to save, so it most certainly is my concern!" Lin Feng blocked the doorway, showing no sign of backing down.
"Move aside!"
"Not happening!"
Eula, torn between anger and amusement at Lin Feng's determined stance, suddenly grimaced in apparent pain, clutching her stomach.
Lin Feng hastily rushed to the kitchen to fetch some warm water for Eula.
Seizing the opportunity, Eula attempted to slip past him, but Lin Feng sprinted back just in time, wrapping his arms around her from behind.
He wasn't foolish; he could tell Eula's expression was feigned, so he remained vigilant.
"Let go!" Eula's face flushed slightly, feeling uncomfortably heated by their close proximity.
"Not until you promise not to leave today!" Lin Feng held onto Eula firmly, resorting to playful stubbornness.
"I...I just need to call in and assign some tasks!" Eula weakly protested.
"That's easy, make a phone call right here!" Lin Feng kept his face pressed against Eula's back, refusing to let go even slightly.
"I don't have their numbers!" Eula shook her head, but the slight lift of her chin betrayed her lie.
"I do!" Lin Feng smiled, knowing he had the system as his cheat code for anything related to phones.
"Fine, let me go, I'll make the call!" Feeling Lin Feng's warmth against her back, Eula seemed to lose all strength.
"Alright, let's make a pact. Repeat after me: 'Cross my heart and hope to die, one hundred years won't change this vow; if I lie, I'm a silly pup, heh heh...'" Lin Feng chuckled mischievously.
Eula, feeling utterly embarrassed, repeated the words, puzzled by Lin Feng's childlike behavior.
"There you go, now remember, no breaking promises!" Lin Feng released Eula, still sensing the lingering faint fragrance from her body on his hands.
Eula reluctantly complied and earnestly assigned her duties to the vice-captain.
The vice-captain was astonished; Eula was known as a workaholic, never taking breaks or calling in sick.
When the garrison squad heard this news, they were equally shocked but mostly relieved. They had always feared that one day Eula would push herself too far due to her relentless dedication.
"Come on, if you're bored, let's play a game together!" Lin Feng pulled out his phone, smiling at Eula. He knew she had a proud demeanor, so simply suggesting he accompany her wouldn't work.
"Hmph, fine, I'll carry you then, consider it repayment for saving me!" With a haughty snort, Eula also took out her phone, truly embodying the epitome of tsundere behavior.
Lin Feng chuckled and nodded, joining Eula in entering the battle royale game.
"Eula, why did you hit me? We're teammates!"
"Oh...oops..."
"This isn't Minecraft, we can't fly..."
"You still can't fly? You're terrible..."
"Cough, cough, you can't chop down this tree. Let's go find enemies instead!"
"If we can't chop trees, how will we build houses? Where will we sleep at night?"
Eula remained silent.
"Someone's coming! Grab a grenade - it's that round throwable item."
"Okay, got it!"
"Throw it already!"
After a brief moment, a flash of fire lit up as both Lin Feng and Eula transformed into glowing green boxes.
"Aaargh... Why did you hold onto it instead of throwing it?" Lin Feng exclaimed, feeling somewhat helpless.
Eula didn't respond verbally but shot him a glare, her fists clenched tightly, hinting that any further nagging might invite a taste of her iron fist.
Sensing a chill, Lin Feng immediately looked at Eula and dared not say another word.
"Well, keep talking. I'm all ears," Eula said menacingly with a forced smile, gritting her teeth.
"Cough, cough, what I meant is, it was entirely my fault for not explaining clearly!" Lin Feng cleared his throat, adopting a conciliatory tone.
"Hmph, now you're getting it. No more arguing; just follow my lead from now on!" Eula snorted, lifting her chin slightly.
"As you command, O Spindrift Knight!" Lin Feng placed his hand over his heart, responding with a grin.
Soon, a new game began. This time, Eula performed much better, avoiding incidents like shooting trees with her gun.
"Take off your clothes!" Eula suddenly turned to Lin Feng and issued a commanding order.
