First day of school was full of events, especially for the two friends. After school was over, cars seemed to fill the school surroundings. The students flooded out of the school, chatting and discussing as usual. Some intimate students said goodbyes to their friends as they left the school compound. Students that were in relationships usually gave kisses and pecks to their lovers before leaving.
Jeffrey and Joseph strode out of the first building, both heading for the gate. The crowd of students seemed to have have also been strolling out of the first building. Jeffrey held his bag in his right hand while his left hand was on Joseph's shoulder. As they walked together, they noticed Joseph's Panda running over to them in a slight speed. Joseph held out his arms as he took the Panda in his arms.
The Panda didn't waste time in returning to it's position on Joseph's shoulder. The Panda seemed to be more friendly. He flashed a hearty smile to Jeffrey. Jeffrey took the smile as an apologetic smile.
"Master,I had a great time with Emma and Mr Chao" the Panda's voice sounded friendly as he said those words.
"That's awesome. It's a good thing that you had a good time at the security office" Joseph patted the Panda's head.
The Panda's gaze landed on Jeffrey as an apologetic look overshadowed his face.
"I'm sorry for what I did to you, Young Master Jeffrey" the Panda apologized in the best way he could.
Jeffrey didn't seem taken aback by the Panda's gesture. He smiled while patting it's head.
"You don't need to be sorry, besides it's your job to make sure your master is safe and fine" Jeffrey removed his hand from the Panda's head while grinning at him.
The Panda shook his head "it's my fault. I should have first understood the situation before jumping into conclusions".
Jeffrey smiled.
"Let's just forget about it" Jeffrey smirked.
They got out of the school premises. Right outside the gate was Emma, the huge bodyguard. Despite Jeffrey's muscular frame, he knew that Emma was much muscular and huge than him. Emma grinned immediately he set his eyes on the Panda. He slightly bowed at the approach of Jeffrey.
Jeffrey stopped walking when they got to the car.
"I just thought about it" Jeffrey muttered. "How about I drop you off at home".
"That would be a great idea"Joseph smirked. "Sophie won't be coming home early since today is her first day working in your sister's fashion designing company".
"Yeah, Lucy told me about it" Jeffrey returned the smirk.
"Hope Emma won't be uncomfortable with?" Joseph asked.
Jeffrey chuckled.
"He's bound to agree with it especially since I'm his boss" Jeffrey said as they both laughed.
They got into the black Jeep with Jeffrey and Joseph at the back seat and the Panda along with Emma at the front. Emma did well in bringing the Jeep to life and the Jeep zoomed out of the school front gate. Students still roamed the school premises maybe they were patiently waiting for their parents.
The drive to Joseph's house was a thrilling experience. The four individuals chatted and talked about a lot of things heartily. During the discussion they even decided a name for the Panda.
Alfred-
Emma was the one who suggested the name and Joseph agreed with it. The Panda was so happy with his new name that it squealed in delight. Electricity bolts, burst out of him as happiness took over him, he was therefore known as Alfred.
After thirty minutes of driving, the black Jeep came to a stop in front of Joseph's house. Joseph grinned at the sight of the yellow house.
"Home, sweet Home" he muttered silently to himself.
He got out of the car, so did the Panda(Alfred). After Joseph got out of the car, his gaze met Jeffrey's who was also getting out of the car.
"Emma, one minute please" Jeffrey requested as he closed the door.
Emma nodded and focused his attention on the steering wheel. The two friends stared into each other's eyes with a smile on their faces.
"Today was an eventful day" Joseph murmured. "I'm glad that my sister choose to force me out of bed".
Jeffrey chuckled.
"Your sister is one hell of a bitch, right" Jeffrey grinned as Joseph laughed.
"I'm just hoping that I won't over- sleep and according to you it's by midnight, right?" Joseph's eyes gleamed with trust and anxiety.
"Yeah,by midnight" Jeffrey replied. "Just pray your sister won't be asleep by 12 am".
"I'm sure, she won't be awake by then but remember that I won't be drinking" Joseph warned.
"Yeah, I know".
Joseph gave Jeffrey a passionate hug. With a tap on Joseph's shoulder, Jeffrey got into the car and in no time the car zoomed off.
Alfred waved them goodbye before hopping on Joseph's shoulder.
££££££
It was midnight. A comfortable silence filled the yellow house. Though the lights were on but Joseph turned it off,it would help in his sneaking out of the house. The darkness settled on the yellow giving the house a strange impression.
In Joseph's room, he was handsomely dressed for the opening of the new club that was a few meters away from school. His snow-white hair seemed to glow in the dark as he combed it. Though his room was pitch dark, he could see perfectly well. The bright light that shone from other houses plus the street lights dimly lighted his room.
After getting his shoes from the shoe rack, he carefully opened the door and sneaked out of his room. Holding his shoes in one hand and his phone in the other, he tiptoed downstairs even passing his sister's room. He got to the living room to meet two glowing eyeballs. Fear surged through him, seeing the glowing eyeballs in the dark.
Suddenly, the lights came on. Fear and surprise filled his face as his gaze met that of Alfred. Alfred casted his master a quizzical look.
"Master, why are you up at this unholy hour and why are you handsomely dressed?" Alfred asked his blue eyes examined Joseph from head to toe.
Joseph's right- index finger found its way to Alfred's mouth, silencing him after he asked the question. After silencing the Panda, he tried to hear if his sister was still sleeping. Good thing for him, Sophie was a deep sleeper so she didn't stir or wake up.
"Hey, keep quiet. Don't make a noise" Joseph whispered warningly.
"Master, where are you going to this late?" Alfred whispered back.
"I need to meet up with Jeffrey, please keep watch of Sophie" Joseph whispered, not taking his eyes off the stairs.
Alfred sighed.
"You should have been the one that put off the lights?" Alfred asked.
Joseph nodded.
"How did you turn them on?" Joseph asked.
"When you put off the lights, the light bulbs where therefore devoid of electric current. All I just needed to do was to transfer electric current from my body to the light bulbs and the light came on" Alfred explained.
Joseph again nodded.
"I have to be going now. I'll be back by 2 am, protect my sis and cover up for me if she asks" Joseph quietly opened the front door and slipped out.
The cold air hit him but he didn't seem to care. His eyes caught sight of Jeffrey's personal car. It was a red Lamborghini. Joseph didn't waste time in putting on his shoes. He headed for Jeffrey's car which was across the street. He gave a final glance at the yellow house before hopping into the car.
"You look flashly luxurious" Jeffrey commented on Joseph's dressing.
"Thanks, man. But I'm really sleepy" Joseph said buckling his seat belt.
"Don't worry,it will wash away when we get to the midnight club" Jeffrey started the engine and the car was on the move.
"How did you manage to sneak out of your father's mansion? Aren't there guards or did you bribe them? Joseph asked.
Jeffrey cunningly grinned.
"You know how smart I am, right?" Jeffrey grinned.
"No" Joseph replied.
Jeffrey's grin dropped and he sighed.
"First of all, I told Emma of my plans this night but he didn't agree to it. He threatened to let my mom know about it so I didn't press on" Jeffrey said with a slight chuckle.
"So, what did you do?" Joseph asked resting his back properly.
Jeffrey slowly removed his left hand from the steering wheel and brought out a bottle from his pocket. Joseph casted him a confused glare.
"So, I put this sleeping potion in the food of every living thing in my father's mansion" Jeffrey cunningly chuckled.
"And now they are all asleep, so I sneaked out peacefully".
Joseph gasped out in surprise. Amazement was clearly written on his face, but it was suddenly washed away by a sly grin.
"You are really a cunning 🦊 fox" Joseph chuckled even more. "How did you put the potion in every staffs food?"
"A magician never tells his secret to anyone" Jeffrey returned the bottle to his pocket and concentrated on the road.
During the drive to the club, they talked and gossipped about the day's events. The drive seemed short especially as they talked about a lot of things. They soon arrived at the midnight club that was just a few meters from their school.
The whole area was filled with cars and music boomed through the air. Different lights reflected through the surroundings giving the area a sudden reflection of different colours.
Jeffrey packed the car beside the school gate cause there was no other space to pack the car. Jeffrey and Joseph hopped out of the car, using their legs they walked all the way to the club. The surrounding of the club was filled with cars. Traces of people could be seen around the surrounding of the club. Jeffrey caught sight of a couple kissing behind the back of a car, he chuckled lightly.
"See what those couple are doing?" Jeffrey directed his companions gaze to the couple.
Joseph laughed.
"Can't believe they are doing it in public" Joseph said.
"Not naturally in public, last I checked it's midnight" Jeffrey commented.
They both got to the entrance of the club. Two huge bouncers stood at each entrance of the club. At their pockets could be seen a fully loaded short guns and they were ready to use it at any time. At the top of the entrance,a large signboard that glowed pink light was written;
MIDNIGHT CLUB
COME HAVE SOME FUN...
Jeffrey smiled at the sight of the two bouncers. The two bouncers stopped them, Jeffrey presented his ID card, so did Joseph. The two bouncers searched the two friends, finding no weapons they allowed them to enter.
The interior of the club boomed with great music as crowds upon crowds of people filled the club.
Joseph didn't have time to look around the club. He hate clubs and always didn't like clubbing. He never would have wanted to go clubbing, infact he shouldn't have come.
He held his two arms up as he covered his ears with his hands. He wondered how the crowd of people coped with the loud music.
"I shouldn't have come, I should have stayed at home" he muttered silently to himself.
He never knew that fate brought him to the club. He never knew that after that midnight,his life would change. Fate brought him to the club for two reasons;
To find the love of his life and not just that, to have the power of the world in his hands.
The Biochemical...
