Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Werewolf

The fragmented projections of the two worlds entered Chen Mo's mind. However, his mental strength was still too weak to obtain a complete projection, and the images were somewhat chaotic and blurry.

Chen Mo focused and carefully observed, trying to discern the content of the images. He managed to find some clues.

In the first world's image, he vaguely saw vast amounts of seawater flooding a city filled with skyscrapers, with ice and snow covering much of the Earth's surface.

The second world seemed to be medieval Europe. Amidst the broken and chaotic images, he could vaguely see vast forests, charging knights, ragged peasants, and a tall, strange figure that flashed by.

Due to his insufficient mental strength, the images were very blurry, and much was left to guesswork. However, the fleeting figure felt very familiar, indicating it was a world from a movie he had seen.

After sorting through his memories, Chen Mo quickly identified the figure.

Recalling the entire movie's plot, Chen Mo smiled and decisively chose to travel.

A flash of white light, and Chen Mo, clad in alloy armor and carrying a shield and sword, appeared in a dark forest.

Judging by the sky, it was evening, and the sun was about to set. The forest was already growing dark.

Entering the movie world, Chen Mo's demeanor changed from the relaxed, gentle one on the island to one of seriousness and focus. The island vacation was over; it was time for a new battle!

Adjusting his mindset, Chen Mo listened carefully, and distant sounds gradually reached his ears.

Soon, he pinpointed a direction and quickly ran towards it, having heard faint voices from that direction.

Chen Mo's arrival point was not far from the forest's edge, and it didn't take long for him to emerge from the forest. Before him lay a rolling plain with a ruined village in the distance, flickering with firelight in the dim evening sky.

Without the trees blocking his view, Chen Mo could hear more clearly. The sounds from the village were human screams and beastly roars.

A faint scent of blood drifted on the wind.

Frowning, Chen Mo quickened his pace towards the village.

As he drew closer, the smell of blood grew stronger. When he entered the village, the scene before him made his pupils contract.

Several beasts, over two meters tall and covered in thick black fur, were slaughtering the villagers.

They were strong and agile, with wolf-like snouts and mouths full of sharp fangs, resembling giant wolves. However, they walked upright like humans.

These beasts matched the tall figure from the blurry world projection Chen Mo had seen.

"Werewolves!"

The sight of the beasts confirmed Chen Mo's earlier guess. They were indeed the bloodthirsty werewolves from European mythology.

As soon as Chen Mo appeared in the village, the keen-sensed werewolves noticed him. Dropping the human bodies they were biting, they charged at Chen Mo.

Chen Mo looked at the ferocious werewolves and smirked, drawing the sword from his back.

In battle mode, Chen Mo's entire demeanor changed, becoming cold and sharp. A strong killing intent emanated from him, like the unparalleled sharpness of the king's sword in his hand!

The werewolves moved with incredible speed, reaching Chen Mo in the blink of an eye. These beasts were different from the enemies Chen Mo had faced in the Captain America world. They were massive, with strength and speed several times that of a normal human, and they had sharp fangs and claws as weapons. Their combat power far exceeded that of the elite human soldiers Chen Mo had encountered before.

Three werewolves lunged at Chen Mo, their blood-stained fangs bared, aiming to bite him.

With his sword in hand, Chen Mo's eyes radiated a cold killing intent. As the three werewolves closed in, he swung his sword in a horizontal arc, the sharp blade slicing through the air and cutting through the necks of the three werewolves.

The werewolves' movements halted instantly, and they fell heavily to the ground, their heads rolling aside.

After killing the three werewolves with one strike, Chen Mo didn't stop. He rushed into the village, hearing the sounds of people still alive inside.

There seemed to be many werewolves attacking the village. Along the way, several werewolves noticed him and launched attacks. Chen Mo swiftly killed them as he made his way towards the densest sounds.

As he approached the source of the noise, Chen Mo saw from a distance that a dozen werewolves were surrounding a stone house, roaring and attacking it.

Unlike the simple wooden houses in the village, this house was built entirely of stone, making it very sturdy. The strong werewolves couldn't easily destroy it and could only try to enter through the door and windows.

Inside the small stone house, there seemed to be many people. Both the door and windows were being defended, preventing the fierce werewolves from getting in.

Seeing that the people inside were temporarily safe, Chen Mo didn't rush to rescue them but observed from a distance.

From his earlier battle with the werewolves, Chen Mo had gained a preliminary understanding of their strength.

These werewolves were tall, standing over two meters high, with muscular bodies and agile movements. Their strength and speed were about three to four times that of an ordinary human, similar to the enhanced effects of the improved super-soldier serum.

Yet, these powerful werewolves were being kept at bay by a group of ordinary humans. Chen Mo found this intriguing.

The stone house was small, with only one door and two windows. The wooden door and windows had been broken by the werewolves' sharp claws, but every time a werewolf tried to enter, several spears would thrust out from inside.

The narrow door and window spaces made it impossible for the low-intelligence, instinct-driven werewolves to fully dodge, and they were injured and driven back each time.

The humans inside the house were defending with coordinated movements and perfect timing. Chen Mo deduced that someone inside was directing them.

Moreover, this person had a precise grasp of the situation and extensive combat experience, likely a seasoned warrior.
