Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Hydra Headquarters

Having been in this world for over two years, Chen Mo was almost ready to return to the real world. Through battlefield training, his strength had significantly improved. Hydra was completely under his control and successfully hidden, and S.H.I.E.L.D. was developing well. Besides Chen Mo and the five core members, Steve, Bucky, and several hundred loyal peripheral members had joined.

After a long period of observation and selection, most of the special operations team had secretly joined S.H.I.E.L.D., especially the Howling Commandos led by Steve, who had all joined.

Fighting side by side in life-and-death situations easily fostered deep camaraderie, and long-term immersion and influence helped form common ideals and pursuits.

Two months had passed since Hydra's last appearance. During this time, Chen Mo and the Colonel had discussed and planned S.H.I.E.L.D.'s future development strategy. With Chen Mo's foresight and planning, S.H.I.E.L.D. was bound to become even stronger.

One day, Chen Mo was in the training room at the base, sparring with Huang Quan, Han Qing, and Luo Zhen, who had just undergone enhancement with the modified serum. The three, whose strength had greatly increased, could now fight Chen Mo for a while together.

They were Chen Mo's backup in S.H.I.E.L.D. With their strength and experience, they would undoubtedly hold important positions in S.H.I.E.L.D. in the future. Chen Mo had no doubts about their loyalty.

It wasn't that Chen Mo didn't trust the Colonel and the others, but he was concerned about unforeseen changes. No one could predict the future, so being prepared was beneficial for both him and Steve.

Chen Mo was about to end the fight when Colonel Phillips suddenly ran in.

"We've found Hydra's headquarters!"

Poland, deep in the Tatra Mountains

The Colonel looked at the base entrance hidden at the foot of the mountain and glanced uncertainly at Chen Mo beside him.

"Are we really just going to charge in?"

Chen Mo's battle plan made him skeptical.

"Of course not. We'll knock first."

Chen Mo said, pulling out a special bomb and throwing it towards the base entrance 200 meters away. As the bomb flew halfway, Chen Mo rushed out from his hiding place, chasing the flying bomb towards the entrance.

The Hydra soldiers guarding the entrance barely had time to react before a shadow fell beside them, followed by a violent explosion that engulfed them all.

Colonel Phillips watched as Chen Mo, already inside the base before the flames had fully dissipated, thought of one word: human artillery!

By the time the Colonel and Steve's team rushed in, the entrance was littered with bodies, some killed by the bomb and others cut in half by Chen Mo's sword.

They entered the base unimpeded and then split up, each leading their squad to attack from within.

Chen Mo didn't wait for them but headed straight for the base control room.

In the control room, Baron Strucker saw the familiar figure rapidly approaching his location on the screen. He didn't even have time to activate the self-destruct device and immediately turned to run towards the hangar.

The impression Chen Mo left on him last time was too deep; he almost didn't make it out alive. He didn't think he would be so lucky this time.

"Damn it! Just a little more, and I could have ruled the world!"

Baron Strucker felt extremely frustrated. Not long ago, he had just completed the construction of the Valkyrie, a giant bomber. With this superweapon, his ambition to rule the world was within reach.

But before he could execute his world-destruction plan, the special operations team arrived ahead of time.

Chen Mo had transferred the construction of the Valkyrie to this location, giving Strucker the original design plans. Without the Tesseract's energy, there was no infinite power supply or powerful energy bombs. This Valkyrie couldn't destroy all the major cities in the world in one go.

Baron Strucker had planned to target cities one by one, with New York as his first target. But at this critical moment, the base's location was exposed, and Chen Mo led an attack on the base, thwarting his plan to rule the world.

At this moment, his heart was filled with endless hatred for Chen Mo.

If he couldn't rule the world, he at least wanted to destroy New York!

When Chen Mo arrived at the control room, it was already empty. He wasn't surprised and walked to the control panel, deleting some information and activating the self-destruct switch for the archives room.

After doing all this, Chen Mo chased after Baron Strucker towards the hangar.

To build a hangar and runway large enough to accommodate the Valkyrie, almost the entire mountain had been hollowed out.

Seeing the Valkyrie slowly starting up, Chen Mo couldn't help but feel deeply shocked.

This super bomber, built with Hydra's cutting-edge technology, was enormous, with a wingspan of a hundred meters, resembling a massive airborne steel fortress.

The flying wing design, without a tail, integrated the fuselage and wings into a flat, elongated shape, similar to the B-2 stealth bomber of the future United States.

However, the B-2 bomber's wingspan was only about fifty meters, half of the Valkyrie's.

Even in modern times, building such a colossal aircraft would be challenging. The larger the aircraft, the heavier it becomes, and the more it must withstand vibrations and stresses during flight, requiring stronger flight power and structural strength, making it technically difficult.

Creating such a massive airborne fortress during World War II showcased Hydra's technological prowess.

There was no time for admiration. Seeing the plane starting to accelerate on the runway, Chen Mo immediately chased after it.

When the plane first began to accelerate, its speed wasn't very fast. Chen Mo quickly caught up, leaping onto the landing gear and entering the aircraft.

Inside, the plane had a vast space, entirely in a military style, with exposed steel structures, wiring, and pipes.

The large space was neatly filled with the super bombs Chen Mo had seen at Hydra's Klausburg base. The quantity was enough to turn a city into ruins.

After casually taking out a few Hydra soldiers who rushed at him, Chen Mo made his way to the cockpit at the front of the plane.

The spacious cockpit was empty. With a slight smile, Chen Mo walked to the center of the cockpit.

As soon as Chen Mo stood still, dozens of thick steel pillars suddenly rose from the ground around him, surrounding him. At the same time, a heavy circular steel cover quickly descended from above, connecting with the pillars below.

Chen Mo was completely trapped in this steel cage.
